Just FYI, the post office also has the same service as Yamato and will ship your skis to anywhere in Japan. It is actually cheaper than Yamato for many cases. It was 3300 yen compared to 5000+ yen for Yamato when sending skis from Osaka to Hokkaido. Hope this helps.

You flew in 4 days after I did. One of the things I struggled with was the QR code for the immigration. It was further down and the lady at the airport helped me. Also the Suica cards aren't available at Haneda station, only the welcome Suica. I think you can get them at Tokyo station.

Very helpful, you're videos are the best. I'll be going mid February for the first time. Staying in Asakusa,Tokyo using bullet train to Gala Yuzawa. Hopefully not pay extra for my ski bag on the airplane as a 2nd checked bag. Have a good New Year!!!

Hey, I did the same thing last year! If you can, I would advise to grab a hotel very close to Ueno or Tokyo station if you are staying in Tokyo. The train connections between Asakusa metro and the Shink line is quite cumbersome up and down several flights of stairs with no elevators, and the metro trains are very claustrophobic as well. If you can go straight from Shink -> hotel to drop your ski gear, it will be that much easier!

Great videos. Spending a week at Nekoma ski resort then on to Hakuba Valley for a week with my wife so two people which is 347 Km by car. Public transit from Nekoma to Hakuba is 8 plus hours through Tokyo but most of it occurs at the beginning and end of the trains out of Oyima Station (The two bullet trains are about 2:15 minutes total with one transfer to add time). Options: 1. Suck it up and take public transit (No idea how much that would cost for two people). 2. Asia Car Service for a driver (just submitted for a quote, but would be surprised if they actually do it and then cost is going to be quite high) 3. Could I hire local cars to go from Nekoma for 56 Km's to Koriyama Station and do the same from Nagano Station to Hakuba Valley about 43 Km's? Or how would you do it? Pretty Slippery Slope and I would prefer to avoid falling off a cliff sort of speak. If I get the car service, I have to ask: can I have a beer (don't want to be rude to the driver)? Thanks in advance. Cheers. Very impressed with your Japanese. Kudos.

great video! Do you know if there's a service that can send your board/skis to close to your resort in Europe? Is it cost effective?

    Really appreciate these nihonmercials!
Out of curiosity, what size ski bag did you send off to Nagano?
Saw KuroNeko has a limit of 200cm L+W+D, or are they considering ski bags different to yer regular Samsonite?

Would they transfer gear up to Hokkaido? Or is it best to just store at airport until you catch your flight that way?
