Sviga is ... such a weird company to me. They basically took a bunch of off-the-shelf alibaba/ specials; rebranded them a bit -maybe even did some actual QC on them- and somehow, turned that into a thriving, and expanding, audio company that is actually - quite good. I started off with their SV007's and really, really liked them at $90; and the SV006, despite being a weird block shape - where a good treble emphasised headphone (not that I like them, but my dad did.)
Now, I Haven't really gotten much further into their product stack than that (and that was years ago.) but it seems like they are ... somewhat committed to being a good decent-grade audio company. I would put them below Sennheiser most of the time (except at the $100 price point where they killed it with the SV007.)
Also, I like wood. But they still have a company name that sounds like a venereal disease...

Hmm, based on what you said about the Oriole's sound signature, I presume that it will sound similar to the MS2 earphones. Would I be right in expecting such a sound? I quite like the sound of the MS2 and I might be interested in the Oriole if it sound similar.

Thanks. I have the Robin's AKA SV021 Classic as an inexpensive entry into closed backs. 1) would you say these are a step up from them? 2) I cannot find inside ear well dimensions. Again, if you have the SV021's handy, are the openings at least as large? (I've got large ears.) Thanks. Enjoyed your comments.

on my way to buy a pair of closed back cans for commuting and office listening. so, don't know which ones to buy: Oriole or DT 700 Pro X. In the Netherlands the price for both are the same: 250 euros. Which one would you advice? my preferences in music is mostly classic rock (pink floyd, scorpions, rush), some metal (iron maiden, tool), jazz, classic, hans zimmer/djawadi, etc.

Any headphone is theoretically capable of presenting pleasant sound signature for your music. The Oriole is a very good headphone in its own right, but my personal preference would be for the 700 Pro for general use. I think its bass response is a bit more fun, while not accentuating treble.

Frequency response measurements should be left to those who have accurate measurement rigs. Those cost a lot of money. And to do a proper measurement, you have to devote a lot of time and care. I have no desire to spend several thousand dollars on a measurement rig, particularly since I do not earn enough money from my channel to justify that cost.
