Well since Burgess Macneal help create the plugin and make the first real sontec I dont think it’s going to get much better than theirs but, it would be interesting
should do a part 2 of this video, the song as it original is, then using the new plugins to your desired taste and show us, cause it sounded great at the start but every plugin you tried made it sound better. id love to see a complete use of these plugins v original comparison video \m/
Hey bro sorry what do you mean by modern sound? 😅does that mean more clear or clean orrr like more transpsarent? If you could give me some references I make pop and alt rock it would help me to know what you mean 🙏
Yep, not even intended to be scientific here, just my impressions. I can tell the difference in sound by not level matching, the unfortunate experience of working with enough unmatched plugins. Thank you for the comment.
I Compared this to Acustica Ivory, and agree that Ivory sounds brittle compared to the Sontec. I also compared the Make Believe Studio version to the Relab version of the Sontec and and the Relab doesn't sound nearly as good to my ears.
the comparison with ivory is really bad made, 2db shelf on bass on the sontec and 1.5db of bell on the ivory...no sense.., also ivory without pre engaged while the sontec had his boxtone on, and in case ivory need to go inside at -18dbu... that would be a decent comparison...also you should have to compare with scarlet c, that is the same eq modeled, curves and box tone (that fat bass and special curves, totally different from ivory). That said yeah the new sontec is awsome, cheers!
@@DrMikeMetal i use mixhead , and i meassure with plugin doctor and… a lot of shit of aliasing in 192 hz too , the eq is better but maybe i dont test the eq a lot , i dont know maybe the eq is ok
First timer but great fun seeing your clinical opening and tone morphing into speechless shock....props on your openness!
@@zeitakulobusta haha many thanks!
Like the video but Acustica Scarlet is Sontec emulation! Would love to hear that comparison 😁
Yes, I realised it too! Unfortunately, I don't own Scarlett

Yes, I would say, cleaner, refined, pushed, and more compressed. Check out "Currents"
I can see the capsule through the headbasket of your microphone ☺
Haha yep!!
Can't wrap my head around the GUI's, but they definitely sound good lol Cheers!
Just got to be brave with them haha;

Too kind!! Thank you for watching
Scarlet is the one from Acustica you need to try
I dont like the master limiter to muddy
You can'r separate the wheat from the chaff if you don't level match, you hack. This vid means nothing without scientific proof.

Nice observations!
No, Ivory is Maselec, scaler is Sontec
Yeah I realised that I used the wrong one afterwards. I don't own Scarlett, only Ivory. Still interesting to compare
Been using them while in Beta they haven't left my template since
Not surprised. It's pure gold
Loved this video and your reaction! Subscribed instantly
thank you kindly!!

Yeah I agree, should have prepared that one better! Thank you for watching!
@@DrMikeMetal thank you too!
I have been using the IK Multimedia 432 for years now, I just got this plugin and I can't wait to compare the 2
please keep us posted!
@@DrMikeMetal after a month I can say they are similar but the Make Believe sounds bigger more open on the low end. IK still sounds great though
@@bangubw736 nice observations, thank you for sharing!
don't forget to click he A-hole on Good Math
Yep I did discover it later and oh my.
Great video! Fun to see your reactions haha
Haha yes! Still don't own these plugins, keen to invest
I measure the crane song phoenix and is incredible , none aliasing at all
Sontec destroyed acustica plastic
Shitty plugins , nothing nice
Thank you for sharing your opinion! What are you mostly using?

@@principedegales7092 fair enough! To each it's own! Sounds good to me, I don't have too much time to measure the plugins these days...
