Thats actually something real marines do irl. To prevent the grenade from killing others they jump on it (see how Captain America jumped on the fake grenade and Peggy Carter ran towards it too in the First Avenger)
If you wanna try to get more elevated angles and shots of the battle and stuff you can try changing the biped for Chief into a monitor like Adjutant Resolution so you can fly. I think that's what GameCheat13 would do cuz there's often a floating shadow of a ball on the ground
I both love and hate infinite Marines, I love that there a.i is actually decent unlike the other 343 halos. But ffs they were given the worst bullet spread on weapons ever. When they do better with a shotgun at long to mid range then they do with the battle rifle then you have a problem imo

The a.i behavior is pretty good and if you give them the right guns that don't have a bad spread programed into them for the a.i they can go nuts. I like to give them the forunner rifle/shotgun thing.

@@enmadaio.8975 Decent as in relative to halo 4 as in 5, they are actually capable of killing stuff in this game, I did not see any Marines kill anything in those two games. I'd have to go back and play all the others to check out there a.i to compare as it's been a sec for me.
Honestly they seem similar to other games in behavior, they just have more health now. Compared to Reach they're better in that their firing range with UNSC weapons is farther than 20 world units which makes them more useful at shooting, and they have more health and their staggering animations when they get shot aren't nearly as long so they aren't left defenseless for as long. Oh and their melees actually work now and even deal damage to enemies. In terms of their ai they're very much still extremely stupid: for 1 thing, and its very noticeable when they're trying to follow you, they literally can't shoot while moving, every time they fire their weapon they stop moving for a second to shoot a short burst before continuing until they stop to shoot more. 2. When they're actually in combat as a result they tend to stand completely still in order to provide suppressive fire while getting pelted with plasma the entire time, only moving to cover when they're almost dead. 3. When actually taking cover, there's 2 different things that tend to happen, either they crouch down for 5 seconds and the pop back out before any of their health has a chance to recharge and get slaughtered, or they sit behind the cover forever and forget to re-engage the fight entirely. 4. When an enemy goes to cover, they will stand still and stare at their last location until they pop back out. Even if its at a crate next to their FOB. They will stand there and let the elite recover their shields rather than pushing up 5 feet to kill them. Even when something as simple as moving a little to the left would expose the enemies cover they'll continue standing there like idiots. And their ability to pick up weapons off the ground isn't nearly as intricate as it is with Brutes and Elites. If a marine has a pistol, or Assault rifle, and they are in range of a weapon they consider to be better, like a bulldog, they'll immediately run over to pick it up and then keep it until you give them something else, even if the enemies are too far away to shoot the bulldog with they'll keep it and stand there completely useless. Elites and brutes will constantly switch between weapons depending on the engagement situation. If they think the enemy is close, they'll pick up the bulldog, if they're farther away, they'll grab a Battle Rifle or Stalker Rifle, and then when you go back to mid range they'll sometime drop their better weapon and go back to the Pulse Carbine or Mangler
These battles are so freaking awesome. Love watching the marines pushing back the Banished. Edit: I find it annoying and funny how they use the bulldog like a sniper. Happens all the time when I fight with Marines in Infinite.
Well they did always say the unsc had the edge in ground battles and only lost as bad as they did because of the MASSIVE space disadvantage they had and the covenant just glassing planets.

Assault rifles should be only for those that can mag dump full magazine on the enemy, because thats the only time its usefull.
