I did this to unlock a radio that I bought to replace the original one in my 2003 Chevy Impala. Worked great for about a week but now none of the display lights on radio come on. Radio still works but can’t sed a thing ??????? Thank you Marty

It didn't work for me in 2020. I finally had to get a replacement on ebay (the correct part number for my car) and had it unlocked at the dealer because the 800 number was no longer in operation. It cost $257.55 including tax. That was $70.00 for diagnosis and $130 for reprogramming - plus shop charges etc.
I tried this on my 2008 impala lt I got the car with no radio purchased a eBay one that was supposed to be unlocked but wasn’t so decided to give this a try after watching and it works perfect now the steering wheel controls everything works perfect. Thanks for the video

On this video, he opened and closed the door five times. If that doesn't work, I would try doing that multiple more times. Hopefully then it will work. Please let us know if that does it successfully for you.
After market radios do not have this problem. They solve the potential theft problem by providing the radio with a removable face plate. You cannot operate the radio without the faceplate correctly snapped in place. I think GM could have done the same thing if they wanted to. Instead, I hear that they would charge the customer around $150 to quickly reset it. I think they are more interested in making fast bucks, rather than in making the radio theftproof for the car owner.
Can I install the Denali radio to my regular Yukon car, or do I need to program it. Since the Denali radio is a screen that supports GPS, your brother from Fahd from Saudi Arabia

Once it works and bypass the vin checkup, do you have to keep opening and closing the door and the ignition every time you get into the car?? Or that unlocks it forever
I found a chip in mine and we took it out. I reinstalled the stereo and tried a number of times of unplugging and replugging in the back plug and I had the radio work for a couple seconds but then it would go back into the locked mode or it would say no Vin locked and I had to do this I did at twenty times and I could not get the radio to stay on any ideas?
I took off the chip and It says no vin so it is the correct chip, but I’ve already turned the key on and off while opening the door at least 15 times any idea ?
@@donaldshane5929 Thats just a pcb reference for the pins, letting the installer know which way to orient the chip. The chip number is on it, and much smaller. All 8 pin eeprom chips are going to say 1485 on the pcb.

Does anyone know what chip I have to remove on that one?? Also in order to see inside I had to take the front face and front cover off. There was no other way of seeing the board. I have 2009 Buick Enclave, it has GM AcDelco radio which has the same looking radio but different electronic map inside. I was able to identify the coding chip and I have removed it. The radio asked me for the vin # but it becomes as locked while I was trying to reset it through the key and door process . I tried too many times but none of them worked. I will buy aftermarket radio but never pay GM for reprogramming. People make $10 hour while they charge us $275 for 30 minute job in a high depreciation vehicle!!!!!!!
It’s actually under the CD player. I took apart my whole radio to find it. And it’s 14 58. Right on the CD player. Have to take CD player out to get to it though

I couldn't find that chip either. My problem or my issue was I had a glitch in my screen and I couldn't see any of the settings. I got another radio stock to replace mine but it was locked. What I finally realize this I could just change the face off of my old radio replacement radio without removing that chip issue and problem solve just needed the faceplate of the replacement plug & Play

@@JaboTheMechanic it's not the actual cable or port. Pressing the button aux button on the head unit doesnt switch over to aux mode. I guess it could be the unit itself idk

Used a box cutter n prided under chip came off perfect. Installed n in one sequence went right on set stations etc thanks great help

You only have to repeat the procedure if the battery dies. But it stays unlocked

Un plug the unit and let it sit for 25mins than try again if not than you pulled out the wrong chip
