Here's a thought for anyone out there to optimise your generators, add an egr (exhaust gas recirculater) or 2 in line on the exhaust, not to reburn the gas but to use the heat exchange to heat water, we waste so much heat energy with generators.
@@gideonkehinde1019 connect an EGR (exhaust gas recirculator) on the exhaust, the EGR is a heat exchanger. Exhaust heat -> heat water, I try and add one to as many divises as possible to heat water in my tank. The water will generally syphon through the EGR as it heats without a pump

I was researching and came to the same conclusion you did. I'm going to modify my air intake and loop the carb gas back into the intake. Thank you for the confidence to permanently modify a fine working gas generator.
I wasn’t entirely sure either, I have seen biogas done with conversion kits, but my understanding of engines says it should be possible and there you have it, it works. I need to visit large scale commercial plants.
what a great idea! thanks for sharing! one question, how do you manage with the lubrication oil? your generator uses mixture of gasoline+oil or have a separated container for oil? thanks!
this is so awesome ...have a biogas system on my own, are you planing to do the measurement soon. How long you can run the gen with a certain amount of compressed gas ?
Hi - very cool idea, and great that it works. I have a question: I’m looking for a generator and was all set to go with the Honda (and break the bank...) but then saw that the Yamaha EF2200iS has a caburettor drain (to remove excess petrol for storage). So, I thought this could also be used to connect gas to that drain really easily as it would be open to the carburettor and save a lot of modification... what do you think?
@@ericlotze7724 you can use iron to remove the hydrogen sulifde. Steel wool would probally work. H2S (gas) will react with FE(solid) to produce iron sulfide. Then can pass the remaining gas through water to remove CO2 and remaining Hydrogen, not perfect but it would be cheap for at home removal
Hi how long can you run this generator with biogas for? Would the engine cope with it over time? Would it require more gas when you load the generator up?
Would an air regulator attachment help control the air flow? I've just bought a 350w generator to play with later. Is that a straight 3/8 air hose there
Having a valve down at the end of the hose would be a great addition, adjusting from the tank is touchy as the regulator doesn’t like the low pressure, better to turn it on full and open a valve at the end as I was having issues, as I’ve mentioned you can actually buy conversion kits for this model generator, but I was merely showing that it’s possible to run it with biogas, if I actually relied on it for power it would be set up properly 👍
how long should my homemade IBC biogas take to start producing methane from cow dung and what optimum conditions shud i keep IBC in to produce more gas
Approx 3 weeks, it will start to produce co2 for a while, then produce methane, start capturing the gas around the 3 week mark and check to see if it’s flammable, once it is, then you can feed food scraps, not before though.
Kindly assist me with this question because I left about one inch space between the digestate and the ceiling inside the tank and I feel I've done the wrong thing or?
well only problem might be if engine requires gasoline to be mixed with oil. Without it you will wear out engine in no time. If it is four stroke with oil pan (requires clean gasoline) , than you are golden.
I am really happy that I have found your video's. I'll be doing this for our cooking. about the compressing the biogas. Can you use any compressor to compress the biogas into the tanks. I will be building our place soon and won't be bothering with plumbing in toilets as doing biogas needs to eat. I was wondering if you were in need of lifepo4 batteries. they are the best battery for power storage. if you are interested let me know and if you can help me spread the news about the batteries I have for sale I would really appreaciate it. I have EDS, a connective tissue genetic disorder and this is how I am trying to provide for my family. If you can help me out it would be awesome. the price is great as I don't want to be like everyone else trying to gouge people for all they can. the specs for the batteries are 10 year factory warranty-- 3.2 volt 271 AH--171 USD each and the minimum order is 16 cells. if you team up with another person to order 16 cells it is fine. the batteries are brand new and will last you as long as the solar panels do as long as you take good care of them. I hope to hear from you about this and about the filling tanks with biogas to cook with. thanks for your videos they are great.
I’m sending an email your way on some possible collaboration of these projects. Main thing is with a group i volunteer with, but if that’s a bit much i can send you sketch ups etc via email.

Some knocking but still cool. Once you got it up to rev it sounded a little better.
Can you just drill a whole in the air intake cover, add a valve and hook directly to it?
It would be a HELL of a project to do, but could you do a “biogas upgrader” ?
I think the main thing for small scale would be removing hydrogen sulfide via a basic wet scrubber. Then a drying phase.
I can sketch up some ideas and help.

Do you know if it's running lean?
Is compressed biogas cheaper than the conventional Lpg?. Such that one can commercialize the process.
Another good video man 🤙
Can’t wait to see how long 1000ltrs lasts
Looks awesome, how’s the digester working
I like to run my water pump with this system to fill up my header tank for my garden.
Get a dual gas kit if you what to run it on bio, inverter generator don't like to run up and down (surge) will end up costing you a inverter.
with the kettle and a fridge it is the inrush or start current which can be up to 7 times the running current ... like your work though
Can this work with any generator ?
