Bajamar is a coastal town in the northeast of the island of Tenerife -Canarias, Spain-, belonging to the municipality of San Cristóbal de La Laguna.
Administratively, it is included in Zone 5 of the municipality.
It is a small tourist and holiday village, standing out for its natural seawater pools.
Together with the towns of Valle de Guerra, Tejina and Punta del Hidalgo, it constitutes a small region within the municipality. Formerly it was considered a neighborhood of Tejina.2

It is located at the foot of the westernmost foothills of the Anaga massif, fourteen kilometers from the urban area of ​​La Laguna. It has an average altitude of 48 meters above sea level, reaching its maximum height at Pico Isogue, with 601 meters above sea level.
Bajamar occupies an area of ​​2.08 km² that encompasses the urban nucleus and a small rural and natural area, partially included in the protected area of ​​the Anaga Rural Park. In recent years it has gone from being a tourist center with numerous hotels to a local tourism area and a residential area without hotels, except for several apartments.
The town has several natural pools and the beach of Bajamar or San Juan, as well as the natural pool of Mariane and Charco Redondo, and the surfing area of ​​Baja Nueva, El Paso, Lobo and las Bordas par excellence for surfing and bodyboarding.4

Bajamar celebrates the festivities from August 7 to August 25 Great Power of God. Within the framework of the patron saint festivities, in the month of August, the Bajamar International Folk Festival is held, organized by the Isogue Folklore Group. On August 18, 2000, coinciding with the VI edition, the Bajamar Folk Festival acquired the rank of international. The Bajamar 3X3 Basketball Tournament is also held, the oldest in the Canary Islands (since 1993), where players of the stature of Sergio Rodríguez have passed, organized by the CBV Costa Lagunera. Also for some years now, the “Las Viejas Glorias del Paso” festival has been celebrated on the last Sunday in August, where the old surfers of the region gather with the new generations.
