At first I was surprised by how many 2-cost cards you run in this list, but if you play characters on turns 1 and 2, you can play Sail on turn 3 and drop another 2-cost after double inking. I really like your version of SS!
I like the feel of this deck. I am trying for a Sapphire Steel too but I am wanting to include Wreck-It-Ralph Ham Hands. I would be interested on your take of a deck that includes him 🙂
@andrewlizak7977 I do also think he shines the brightest in sapphire Steel. He almost made my list but his uninkability was tough overall. I'm gonna figure something out with him down the road though because I love that movie. 😆 🤣
Looks like a really cool deck 👍 I have been messing arounf with a budget sapphire steel deck with a hero theme, and have looked a lot on the jim hawkin shift line, but I am a little "nervous" that the small jim becomes irrelevant later in the game when you are not neccesarily inkin any more. How do you feel about that?
I decided to go with the John silver route. But I also use two baboom and two smash and 3 grab your swords. I have three gantu and two Mr big cause I found if they don’t have any kinda of removal most characters are having two attack and can’t challenge Mr big
@ locally to me I’m only one of two people that play it. Everyone else is running the bouncing mims or hyper agro. I personally don’t understand the bounce package very well so I’ve stayed away from it and have done about 60-40% when playing it going my way long as I get to turn 5 with ramp. It’s lights out.
looks good, i found quill to be too slow and a whole new world isnt needed. The deck is more a on curve deck now that looks for board control. Your list is pretty close to mine. I do believe cogsworth is still a great 5 drop in the deck though. let it go would also be a good add in for you. I'd personally cut the quill's, whole new world, and NOI. I'm at 72% win rate with the list im using, after 50 games.
@RLA1983 i know people hate on noi but i still like her to close games. Awnw is specifically in there for the discard matchup & quill is a way to ink it when I'm not on the matchup. If I had less uninkables I may remove quill but I just feel like it's still a necessary staple in certain matchups when it comes down to outresourcing opponents. Definitely love to see different versions of the list & ways of playing similar stuff though! 😀
I enjoy your deck builds! Thank you for sharing!
@thomasthompson5270 my pleasure, thanks so much for saying that! 😀
I love Jim Hawkins and I’m so excited to see all these new decks with him! Haha
@@lbjw0128 he's so good!
Definitely going to have to try to build something similar to this I enjoy running steel combo decks.
@kenziedravenwood3276 this deck is a blast, has a good matchup into most things .

Looks good. I might give it a try tomorrow
@@CasaIndie love to hear how it goes for you!
Deck list is similar to mine, a little lower to the ground which in this meta environment should be fine. Nice to see BlueSteel in the mix up again.
@@chrislaporte8390 couldn't agree more, much better place than it was in set 5.

@Rasmus.Elnegaard honestly at that point I just ink him. You're usually drawing enough that it doesn't matter.

@knothead5367 i dig it, there's a lot of steel locally so I teched for that.

@knothead5367 in that meta id think you'd definitely do well. Jim especially is great against those decks
Does Calhoun's affect still work if she also banishes herself in the challenge?
If she banished another character yes
Looks like Genie is going to be a problem in this meta. Going to need that Bow, lol.
@@Oldschulplaya genie is crazy good for sure!
exactly, helps vs diablo also. Gets you around the cove also, with a early mickey.
Are blue steel lists no longer on the dime finishers?
@@JBitVlogs when they are playing tamatoa I think they still would be but for this list it just felt like it was taking more than it was giving.
I love me some SS and I'm very close to being able to make this....basically need 1 more Calhoun....I will try it out forsure

How is this deck against the meta? Also against aggro which is sapphire steels achiles heel?
@@drorios8864 aggro matchup is a lot better now with the faster characters & fire the Cannons. Also dealing with locations is better with jim

You can beat aggro pretty easy with this deck. Amber/Steel song is hard for this list.
@RLA1983 if you get a decent mulligan steelsong is definitely doable.
@@thenerdcaveyt until they drop triple daisy :P

I bet Armored Baymax could fit well into this deck.
@@KoalaF3 quite possible!
@@thenerdcaveyt I've been playing with a very similiar deck using Baymax. I''ve also thrown in a couple of Gantu and Mr. Big for lore threat.
@wolfphantom I dig it, I wasn't wild about mr big or gantu just because of the amount of steelsong locally.
@ that’s where you hope/plan your Alice is on board to give Ward. I’ve also played around with Cogsworth for that resist +1., and Tadashi
I run 2 in my list, works great with smee. Cogsworth is needed in this list.
