Always enjoy your content, and this looks like such a fun new take on Sapphire Steel in the current meta! When Azurite first came out, Alice was good but a bit clunky in the existing Ariel/Toa/Dime build. This list definitely maximizes her impact while also showcasing an aggressive playstyle that most wouldn’t expect from this color combo. Thanks for sharing this list, and congratulations on having so much success with it! I’ll definitely be trying it out soon!
Just a word of clarification - you cannot damage Beast on your turn and have him hit for 7. His effect applies at the start of turn, so if you drew from Beast, then your strength buff will be applied only on your next turn. Subsequently - a nicer combo with Baymax IMO - if you started a turn with damaged Beast and got the +4, then you can heal him with Baymax, and have a safer trade with a 7 attack - since his buff sticks till the end of turn, not while he is damaged.
Nice as always Harlan, tnx! Ive build a similar deck with a couple of turn 1 Simba's for smooth draws (even in later turns) and a couple of Caterpillars for extra pressure (boy, if they quest twice...).
Kinda happy this is being called an aggro deck in the title. Really important imo to categorize this as an aggro list even if it is actively trying to curve out at 5
Surprised in your 1st mulligan example you wouldn’t just keep the 2 inkables and doc. Curve out then guarantee have the gas to keep going. Can you explain that reasoning?
I wouldn't keep the doc, id always keep a good curve but yea the inkables was fine if u wanted. Not much else to hunt for, besides maybe a b-boom for blind.
Hey, great video! Sorry if I missed this in another comment, but any good replacements for shift Robin Hood? Just other “good” 5-drops? Know there is nothing that can truly replace it
Loving the deck - thanks for sharing and for the walkthrough. Struggling to counter decks with lot of evasives (Genie for e.g.). How would you suggest we approach evasive?
@@ponzieGG thank you! You just have to race them or present so much lore on board that they are forced to trade into you. Strength can be used to remove some genies
I am having a hard time not keeping a Doc after playing so much DDH where you really need him or Rapunzel in your opener to keep the gas on. I guess this is a little heavier on top but I might keep Doc if I have a hand full of 1s & 2s…
Did you play test with zipper at all? I love the character so curious if he would fit well. My thought is he could be a decent turn 4 option to give alice resist.
Hi Adam, Ran into you yesterday at the Local, Do you build decks that would be suitable for Champs for people from what they have card wise, Thanks Owen
Hi mate! I can try help you build the deck before we start on Saturday but id suggest trying to get the list as close as u can to what u wanna actually play. Lots of people got trades and sales down at the store!
Harlan, I dig the list! Any thoughts on Tadashi as a 2 or 3 of to get us to that 5 ink ceiling using less hand resources? Think it could be really effective!
I tested it at the start of the set in the same kind of list the card is nice but the problem is that it is not inkable and its stats are very bad, and last thing against green purple it takes kit
I don't think its bad but what we found in testing is if you have these great 4 cost characters like scrooge & pluto then you don't want to be skipping t4. Also I would most likely use detective mickey if I wanted that ramp to cogsworth. I don't dislike it, earlier cogs can come down the better. Maybe there can be a ramp based version of the deck.
this deck has been a ton of fun, only problems i’ve had are: steelsong matchup is near impossible , and discarding one card can have you top decking as early as turn 5 😭
@ 😂 as you witnessed I gave my beast away and now this deck has really peaked my interest as I love the aggressive style just trying to find a good replacement
Really love the deck thx Harlan! But don't you stuggle into Ruby match-ups? I have a hard time seeing how you can survive a big Sisu or a be prep with such little gas.
You have pete for be prep and tbh u should be close to closing out the game by the time sisu is on board. Truly is the final boss card for aggro decks.
Just finished my set champs... All of my 5 games were on the draw and all my 5 games were against Ruby Saphire, which was pretty rough... still managed to be 10th on 24 with, finished 3-2-0. The deck is great and really fun to play, but it's really hard to play on the draw.
Just found your channel and I have instantly subscribed! I really like this deck archetype. I have been trying to build a more hero focused version of blue steel aggro/tempo using the two sapphire Annas and preferably Philoctetes as well. Thus, when I saw a deck on you dreamborn profile with a couple Philoctetes I was very interested 😁 How has that worked out for you? Unfortunately I cannot afford Beast and Robin Hood at the moment, so if you have suggestions for budget alternatives I would love to hear them 🙏
Hi mate and thanks for joining us! Philo was interesting, I think for sure u can go really heavy on hero's and make it work but in my new build the card hasn't been put in. Chien Po is good but tbh just any 5 cost character that has good stats and quests for more than 1 lore will do just fine!
@harlansweete thanks for replying 🙏 How do you feel about the steel jim hawkins shiftline? It has played well for me in a lot of games where an early 5/5/2 can be a menace. I feel it is "kind of " comparable to Robin hood (though worse for sure), except having an uninkable 5 drop can be a problem at times. Edit. If you want a challenge, I would love to see your take on a hero focused build WITHOUT Beast and Robin Hood 🤞😁
@@harlansweete That is my primary concern as well. It helps that my deck plays Imperial Bow and Philoctetes to make him a better challenger and 4 cost Anna to make him quest better, but I am still not convinced. But on the other hand I also struggle to find another relevant 2 drop.
How does this deck win vs Ruby Saphire? I feel like this deck just loses so hard vs be preppared. This list doesnt really produce 13 lore before they can ramp to be prep even with pete when on the draw. Then they just remove slowly and you never win.
We would like more 1ds but there just isn't many good ones in the colour combo yet. Hoping for more in set 7! Right now you just really have to be aggressive on the mullgian.
Thanks for the video! Very helpful! Can't express how helpful your content has been as this is my first TCG I have learned a lot from your videos!
Thank you!

Great deck and great video Harlan, thanks. I didn't know about the simulate option in Dreamborn, I will be using that from now on.

Thank you for posting this! Going to try it out at league today.
Great list looks fun.
Took the deck to a store championship and won it, thanks! A little short on removal though.
@daberserker2212 congrats! Yea it's more on aggro than removal but it could do with some more.

@Skrantzy16 nothing truly can replace it. That's why we chose it. But mickey shift or any 5d tbh mate.
I spy Elsa in the background!

exactly right mate.We are more top heavy cards so its hard to play the doc and some 1ds.

We did try him yea! But the issue that after t4 u don't really ink much so he isn't really that great. We cap ink out at 5.
@@harlansweete Great point, thank you for the response

Hi, thanks for the video. Have you tried the blue steel locations version that's going around?
@MrMasteryder tried it but much preferred this build.

Audrey Ramirez - Engineer a good replacement for Beast?
its a 5drop for sure!

@MrOblik-jc8ri yea it's aggro and can struggle on the draw. But still doable.
@@harlansweete thx again!!! Solid deck!
What would you play in place of beast if I do not have them? I have been thinking the 4-6 Rabbit from set 2.
@dondaduck1948 yea that could work. The other guy who made the list and works in tried chien po for a bit. But any big body 5 cost will work
@ I just liked the Rabbit because the 4-6 quest for 2 makes it a 2 for 1 in most cases and still pushing that lore
I recommend the steel heihei over rabbit. You trade 1 health for bodyguard. You still usually get a 2 for 1, and bodyguard helps
I have everything for this deck except Baymax. What would be a good replacement for him?
Chien Po!

Love this list. Been on something similar for a bit. You mentioned Lawrence a few times - why aren’t you running him? He seems on theme
Just no rapunzel to keep him going. I don't think u can say baymax makes him valid enough to include.
How is this Deck Dealing with Genie? Relying on Strength?
@johnferrell9892 or just aggro them. Remember its a 2/4 so struggles to fight the board. Alice + Pluto is just better.
@@harlansweete Anything you might take out to include another Strength? I like to play 4 with my steel
@johnferrell9892 probably beast or baymax
Everyone is playing this right now. lol
