Fine review. BTW: You got me into overbuilt folders. The Medford Pretorian G in arriving in 4 to 6 months. I don't know anything about "influencers" on the Internet but you qualify in the best sense of the term.
interesting you mentioned broken in out of the box. that's one thing I wish Benchmade would work on, consistency. I have some that come out of the box, smooth, centered, solid lock up with no play, and drops shut with no wrist action. then some are a mess. I've decided to just send them back when you can't get the blade play out without tightening it to the point of not being able to open it, or when the blade almost touches the scales or rattles when closed. I love their knives, and have been collecting them for over 20 years, off and on, but I wish theyd pay closer attention to qc. I've got this knife on order, and so far, every reviewer has said its almost perfect out of the box.
Will do, could be a week or two. I guess the distributer has them ordered. They are already sold out, and doesn’t have them yet. Nobody has them in stock at the moment. Lol!
I just got mine 2 days ago and out of the box there was slight play and the action wasn’t smooth sadly...I had to disassembly, clean, relube, and put some loctite on the pivot screw to try to fix the issue. After all of that no luck, the knife has no play now but I had to tightened down the pivot to where it’s not drop shut at all. I have to flick it hard usually to open or close. I agree, I love benchmade but they really need to work on their quality control.
@@DirkWerning I contacted benchmade about it just waiting for a response. Guess my expectations were too high for the mini adamas. Never had this issue with my 940 or my bugout.
You are correct. There are so many knives and few are actually different or innovative. Spyderco puts out quite a few designs, but 90% look the same. I think a manufacturer should coordinate with Dirk and design a couple designs. I would buy one and I know it would kick ass.
Quick question is the back of the knife sharp enough to Scrap a fire steel Or are you unable to with the blade being Cerakote ? Great job on the review I have one on back order through a local knife shop and can’t wait for it to get here.
Love my mini Adamas! One of my favorite knives. Would highly recommend to anyone. Been gravitating towards medium, over-built knives myself. Dirk, this one wasn't a keeper for you?
I like the fact that they do offer a Mini Adamas. It just gives people the option. It made a great product a even greater product.
Really dig this design. Both this and the full size. Such awesome large hard use knives. Great review 👍
Thanks. Haven’t handled the full size but I really do like the mini.

Well thank you sir much appreciate the kind words. Enjoy your Praetorian G.
I'm getting one. I waited for your review to confirm.
Yep it’s a good one honestly.
This is really cool 😎.. I fought buying one all the way to this point. Seems pretty nicely made
I think you’ll like it.
Sounds like a winner. Thanks Dirk, have a great day!👋
i just got the full sized adamas.looks like it will be a good hard user
Awesome congrats.

Lol I’m not sure I am qualified to design a knife but thanks.
Been Debating on the mini adamas or the quiet carry drift for My next purchase 🤔
Both good choices.

Yes I’m sure it’s a hard enough edge to scrape a fire steel BUT I’m not sure how the hosting would affect that.

It was just a loaner but was tough to send back. I can’t buy everything that gets loaned in 🤷🏼♂️😞
Aesthetically speaking, I do not like that mushroom tip jimping.
Fair enough.
