Ren was the original drummer for The Big Push (before Glen came aboard), so yes, that's him making the percussion noises (along with the beatboxing.) In several of the bts Big Push videos shot in Ren's apartment, there's also a cello propped up against the wall, which I'm guessing wasn't for decoration (he has, of course, written a string section, including cello, for the end of Money Game Pt. 3.) Heard him say in an interview once that he can "make noise" on just about anything. Noise, indeed!
I love Ren flexing in this one! He put all the different flows together and made a monster! I know this was filmed in Brighton, but idk the latitude/longitude :D It's so funny seeing people up top watching him. I love his beatboxing in the background.
I see and hear more than that. To me this is an invocation. He's telling the universe who he is and what he wants, giving notice of his imminent arrival. Just break down some of the bars. "Conquer music scene, golden ticket Wonka". "All the seeds that I planted slowly growing like trees." It sounds like a spoken word spell. Remember, too, that it was just a year later that he earned #1 album in the UK.
I love double header Rendsday! This is in Brighton England. 50.82838, -0.13947. You did ask for it, lok😂😂. He does direct, produce and mix most of his music.
The video was shot near Brighton Marina in summer 2022: 50.813984, -0.108021. I think that area may be developed now, so bye bye graffiti wall. At least images of the wall are preserved in some street view shots, photos, and this video.
@@eryksunthank you - I’ve been trying to find that spot for maybe 10 months. I felt sure it was Brighton as almost all the videos are/were until he went to Canada, but something about how it looked had be convinced this was way inland on the edge of the city. I never thought to look for it so close to the sea! Can confirm that on Streetview, I’ve found a spot and an angle on Marina Way that even still has the sofa there!
I'm LOVING the reactions 👏 You need to add Ren's "Humble" to your reaction list... You'll love it and might find yourself playing it when you need a pick me up with an amazing beat! Thank you 👍
Do yourselves a favor, whether it's for the channel or not, go to Ren's TH-cam page, and watch all of his videos from the oldest to the newest and listen to/watch his journey. Dude was super talented then, even more so now.
Yall really should go to his youtube page and catch his story from the start. He is our modern day shakespiear. His story is sad but so interisting.Start from the begaining.
It's the seafront near Brighton a bit along the coast from the main seafront/pier. There's a lot of derelict commercial properties around there. A lot of Ren's videos are filmed at locations around Brighton cos it's local for him.
Yay! A double feature of Rensday!!! This was one of the first songs I heard by Ren and it still blows me away! He's such a versatile performer, I'm so glad you guys are getting deeper into his catalogue and enjoying it as much as I do! Awesome reaction guys!
It's his interview with Zach Sang, he goes over what happened and all the treatments he tried before he even knew he had Lyme disease. It us a great interview. Check it out when you get time, it is fascinating and informative.
His videos are filmed in Brighton on the south coast of England. I've been lucky to see him perform on the streets of the city with his band The Big Push. The guy is so talented it's mind-blowing! You should check out his street performance doing a mashup of I Shot the Sheriff/Road to Zion/Hip Hop. It shows his versatility. You definitely won't be disappointed. He can rap, sing, beatbox, plays guitar and piano, produces all his music. In fact his talent is unlimited. He plays all genres, therefore he can entertain everyone whether you're into rap, reggae, ska, punk or metal. Absolute genius. I'm a 57 year old Goth who NEVER got into rap and now there's this local guy that I HAVE to listen to every bloody day 😂. Enjoy the Ren rabbit hole because there's no coming back 😊
Over a dozen flows in less than 3 minutes, all intertwined, connected from start to finish. This isn't his best track, but it will always be my favorite.
I’m not sure if you’ve been recommended these yet but his Love Music series is fun to listen to !!!! There’s 4 parts and if you listen in order you can hear his personality really come out
Please please react to Ren and his Band The Big Push street preference of I shot the sheriff/road to zion/hip hop it's straight 🔥🔥🔥 his guitar skills are crazy Awesome Xx
I’ve seen all of them 3+ the extended I love Peter Joseph! And I love that ran loved it I heard him explain the pig is to him like the bunny was to Donnie Darko.
I honestly love your reactions because you get it. You get why people are going crazy for Ren!! You react like I do when I watch his videos. He is so so so amazing x
Dig you guys a lot. Love watching you go through REN’s unique repertoire ❣️❣️❣️ Great chemistry together and insightful comments. What a personal refreshing gift these last couple years…and each new piece a surprise🥰
So this is the result of Ren getting so hungry that he ate all the flows until they started overflowing and he spat them back out on this fire track 😂 Love to see you hungry too. Hungry for more Ren that is 😂 I knew you would love the production in this one. Just a feast for the ears. I think one of the things that makes Ren so brilliant as a producer and songwriter in general is that attention to details. He adds so many little extra touches that could easily become too much except he knows exactly how to find the right balance so it just keeps it interesting and feels like little Easter eggs once you notice the little sounds and layers. This is definitely one of my favourites because the production and the constant changes to the flows just makes my ADD brain so damn happy 😂 I can’t wait for you to reach another personal favourite from a completely different corner of the rabbit hole: Crutch feat. Bibi. It’s an older song from before Ren was finally correctly diagnosed and was written after a breakdown following multiple emergency trips to the hospital. It is heart wrenching and stunning.
Did you guys watch Back on 74 first, then The Hunger? Or the other way around? Possibly the two most different vibes from one another! 🤯 The Hunger is my kicking ass and taking names song 🤣🔥🔥🔥
Feel a need to say that anyone who watches the Zeitgeist movie, (Hey it blew my mind too) you owe it to yourselves to also watch it's debunking. It's been a long long time since I watched it so unfortunately I can't remember who made it or what it's called but it's out there and it's extensive and comprehensive. There's so much made up bull**** in that movie and they expose it all with science and logic. Just a PSA for ya. :D
Well ....Actually Ren had to be at least 17 (which is still very young of age for such kind of movie) when he watched "Zeitgeist-The Movie" which is a kind of documentary movie about mythology and also about conspiracy theories and which obviously clearly had an huge impact to some topics of his songs. That movie came out in 2007 (therefore he had to be 17) and had 2 continuations = "Zeitgeist:Addendum" (2008) and "Zeitgeist:Moving Forward" (2011) Just as info.
2 Ren reactions in one day?!? You’re spoiling us and I love it. Thank you
Ren actions
I think they need to up to 3 😅
The in the Ren habit hole now..
Welcome to the world of Ren..
❤
It's filmed at an abandoned shopping arcade in Brighton. And yes, he makes all the beats and sounds himself.
Filmed in a section of Brighton Beach, next to the Brighton Marina.
@@Onewayoflife75 yeah. That background is old boarded up shops 👀. This is a very common style of shopping arcade from all over Britain.

"Make noise"! I love the noise Ren makes!!
What blew MY mind is that you guys hadnt seen this one yet. This is the polar opposite of Back On 74. He is such a kaleidoscope.
I love Ren flexing in this one! He put all the different flows together and made a monster! I know this was filmed in Brighton, but idk the latitude/longitude :D It's so funny seeing people up top watching him. I love his beatboxing in the background.
This is just Ren showing us what he can do. Just flexing.

Black Rock, Brighton. Urban development work is underway there now.
@@sputukgmailit just left of the marina if you face the land rather than the sea. I think you have the right spot.
It's great that you guys pick up on more than the rap, which is understandably what most focus on. This track is a feast for the ears.
I recommend watching that interview in its entirety. Just a beautiful interview he gave.
Yes I agree!
Agree!!!
I’ve re listened to it at least twice more.
They found the pink wheelchair used in Hi Ren while they were there filming this video. Love this song

Filmed in Brighton geezers

It's jaw-dropping, isn't it?!... It's Ren... that's all!

Love The Hunger. I never really liked rap but with Ren I love it 😅. Great reaction.

I can't believe you hadn't seen this one yet. It's one of my favorites, along with Losing It. Ren's rap skils are awesome!!!
Dare ya to count the words, then divide by the time! It equals an average of something like 2.3 words per second!
Love the addition of the research clip, I hadn’t seen that before.
