As a 40 year Master plumber using Milwaukee tools all my life I have been switching over to Hercules. Of course tools like tubing cutter, PVC cutter, PEX expander and crimp tools will use my Milwaukee batteries. But for common tools drills, saw zaws, etc. Millwaukee has just overpriced their Batteries. 12 amp hour Milwaulkee 250.00 bucks, Hercules 12 amp hour 125 bucks. Same cells and better warranty. The hayday of Milwaukee is over.
Great Video and well demonstrated... Hercules singlehandedly changed my perception of HF. After years of the brand name stuff and the issues i had, i decided to try HF. Hercules can easily stand its ground when looking the overall package (Price, Quality, Warranty).
I find it interesting when comparing the 1" bit on the Hercules to the Milwaukee, the Milwaukee in the clip has the 5ah battery on it. A 2.5ah battery with 18650 cells won't have the balls for a 1" bit from any brand tbh. I know the 21700 cells work well with the Hercules, but it would be a better comparison if he was running the 5ah battery with 18650 cells on the Hercules when comparing to the Fuel in the clip. It's falsely making people think the Hercules is weak sauce.
100% true. Its almost like he's purposely 'trying' to throw shade on the Hercules. Sounds like his loyalties lie in whoever sponsors his videos. Sound familiar?
Thanks for this quality review! After watching this, I took advantage of HF's current sale, where I got this hammer drill FREE with purchasing a 5V battery and fast charger for $99. Seems an amazing value if one is a sporadic weekend warrior like me, and not a full time tradesman.
I purchased one of these yesterday. All my power tools are Bosch or Dewalt, so I went out on a limb to buy this. Early days, but very impressed with the quality so far. I have been using my Dewalt impact driver for years, for everything from drilling to driving lag bolts. I stayed with the impact driver because my drill did its best to break my wrist numerous times. With this I am hoping to go back to using a drill for drilling.
So when it says max torque of 1200 inch-pounds (100 ft-lbs) is that assuming the 12 amp-hr battery? Because it looks like torque definitely increases with increasing amp-hrs. Which makes sense ... more amps into the drill motor would produbcd more power
I just got one of these didn't wanted to pay Milwaukee prices and i like it so much that i went back to the store and got the 3/8 hercules ratchet I'm so happy my next purchase will be the 1/4 inch ratchet and when my impacts quit working will be replaced with hercules
Well I respect everyone opinion but I purse it and I'm super happy with it I drilled 40 holes on concrete with no problem at all I'm very satisfied with it I went ahead and bought the drill gun also they work great I use them at my job daily as a maintenance man that I am
Very impressive, but in order to become a real player in the game, they will have to greatly expand their line, and have several years of in-the-field use to prove reliability.
I've been rocking the old brushed hercules drills since they came out, daily use only the impact has started to fail, the variable speed trigger is starting to run full speed no low speed, that being said that little impact has been my most favorite tool. It's been dropped from the tops of ladders and still going, I have the new one but still haven't done any big jobs to put it to the test.
@@ThePainkiller3666 I grabbed the brushed Hercules hammer drill on an open box deal for $19. I couldn't resist buying into the brand. Now I have the Ultra Torque, the brushless 1/4" impact, and a 12v ratchet. Hercules seems to be dead set on expanding the line, so I'm gonna watch it grow.
@@stevenbrindisi4719 nice bro, $19 is a damn good deal, even as a backup. The ultra torque is a beast of an impact as well as the hex impact. The 12v ratchets are good, not as good as my milwaukee but I still got love for them.
I’ve been slowly making the jump to Hercules from Milwaukee. When I was a first getting into the trades all the old timers swore Milwaukee or nothing so my inexperienced aşś took the there advice and started down the path of $250 batteries and $200/ 400 tools biggest mistake of my life and I have done alot of dumb things but I loose sleep over my Milwaukee spending. All the times I had to shop at the 99¢ store for food and not using the ac or heat just to save up for a tool or battery from the rich n powerful Milwaukee tool cartel . Enough is enough next time my girlfriend wants to go out for a nice dinner I can say yes let’s go babe and surprise her with some jewelry and next time my wife wants to buy something for our kids I’ll be like hell yeah get it they deserve it . Just the thought of Milwaukee makes me sick to my stomach
I was actually just at Harbor freight today. Checking these exact same drills out. Now about a year later, they have a kit with a charger and a battery for 100 bucks. and they got 5,8 and 12 amp power batteries. I think I’m gonna have to pick me up one of these drills. Makita just ain’t cut it anymore.
Had milwaukee for my electrical job. Meeded something for the home. They were running a deal for a charger 5ah battery and charger plus free drill for $120. Couldnt say no
I wouldn’t hold my breath they have been promising to expand for years with no new tools (just brushless versions of the same tools) for example the jigsaw was supposed to be out in 2019 with no new update since.
Those 4ah use a larger cell then the 18650 cells the 2.5 and 5ah batteries use from what I've heard. I'm assuming that is why the difference is so noticable.
@@chrisjones6002 You are right, I think 20700 or 21700 batteries may have been used, but the higher the battery capacity, the higher the power. For example, you cannot tighten an 8x200mm screw with a 2.5ah battery, but you can tighten it with 5ah. A battery with a higher amperage provides much better power.

Impressive, but not a fan of the auxiliary handle. I like the Dewalt style ones that clamp around the entire body. I just feel that the Hercules, Milwaukee, etc are more likely to break if say dropped.
Well I’ve owned my impact through Hercules and it’s been dropped off numerous roofs throw form my trailer about ten to fifteen times a week and has cosmetics scratches and dings but still drives like the day I bought it. I actually just picked up the compact drill because we use the impact so much I need more drill and more batteries. And truthfully they are well worth it.
That 1" bit 😳 that's the bit the m12 fuel was drilling with no problems well not no problems it made it but the battery was flashing!! I believe with the 8.0 that tool will be well worth it 👌 but when you price 8ah battery drill charger and warranty on each you can buy a flex 24v turbo hammerdrill with the stacked lithium battery for the same price!!
Go to work already you bum, stop living off unemployment your back is fine, your just being a little girl that likes to cry, what your doing is shameful and embarrassing
Frequent sales offer a 5Ah cell plus a charger for 100 clams, and you get the drill free...cannot be touched when compared to ANY $100 kit. While I'm no longer working 40 hours a week with a drill, the Herc i bought a few months ago has more than enough force to break my arm. What more do I need? It was that or start replacing all the ancient Makita gear I have with more Makita, at prices I can't justify any longer. I'm happy. Now that HF has lost the bottom end of the market to Amazon and Timu, making decent tools seems to be their path to survival, even at higher prices. Everybody wins.
Pretty Impressive for a $79.00 Tool , but again the Big Question is Longevity and Durability and They have to Up their Game on All their Tools , not just their Impacts and Drills .......
That 2.5ah is weak, gotta step it up to a 5ah. I only use those 2.5ah on the smaller flashlights, power adapter for my phone and maybe when I'm setting screws when I'm putting together cabinets.
That’s a load of shit I use the 2.0 2.5 all day and both work perfect and I build ramps and decks also do roofing form time to time and do lots of handrails for steps and I almost never have any problems with my batteries. They also always have a charge.
Man, that sucks. I hate electronic clutches for the exact reason shown here. A mechanical clutch disengages as soon as you hit a certain amount of resistance and that's it. You're typically not going to sink the fastener any further, whether you pull the trigger again or not. As shown in the video, electronic clutches will let you pull the trigger again and drive it further before the clutch disengages again. Oh well. For the price, this is still a pretty kickin' little drill.
They have kits now on sale..drill, 5AH Battery and charger for $119...you can return the charger and get $29 back and only end up paying $48 for the drill that is $80 normally and $45 for the battery that is $75 normally! Great deal!
