So they gave the order to the workers to glue the doors shut. But the boxes were allready printed "With opening doors, trunk, hood ... 😆 somebody that worked on this model saw this video on facebook and commented to me

I've had this model for about five years and I was able to pull the doors open on the first try without prying on them. I don't think mine had a lot of glue applied to it the first time from the factory.

No there's a rather stupid and ignorant anti-confederate thing going on, the last few years and the rebel flag is considered part of that. People claiming that showing the rebel flag is somehow racist and they've caused the show being pulled from TV broadcast/streaming. Model kits no longer showing the flag on the box, or even the build-sheet... This is so they can still put the model on display in the shops, without running the risk of someone getting "traumatized" by a side glance of said "offending" imagery! Sad but true... unfortunately...
Technically these were mistakes in The Dukes of Hazzard where the doors on the General Lee accidentally did open but you were right the doors never did open because they were welded shut like an NASCAR
The designer contacted me and he said the managers wanted the doors closed But the designers did not agree and said it would be more fun to open them. So sadly they needed to put some glue on the doord
Thank you for the video. I have the same model and it came with the doors glued as well. I left them like that. This model is by far, the best General Lee representation ever made. I have another 1/18 from ERTL and it is a toy compared with this. By the way, the headlights can be turned to hide them. Greetings from Colombia.
There are more gentle ways how to open the door. If you don't want to ruin the paint around, you would at least use a towel around the screwdriver...lol

I think you should of heated the door up first with a propane torch then used a pry bar . If that doesn't work throw it across the room. Maybe they will open then. Another idea step on the roof and then put back in box and ask for a refund!!! But first go to local hobby lobby and buy some orange paint to touch up! Good luck next time ask me for some advise first!!!

My girl Freinds gap is tight too!! So I took some lubricant and sprayed now it opens right up! Let the sunshine in! Damn it!!! It was fun when she was tight! Any other ideas just request my advice and I'll gladly help!
@@HappyDude1 I have unscrewed General Lee and tried also a few minutes. I was very carefully, and pressed with my thumbs against the doors to open them.
Whyyyyy!! I’m cringing. Any model general lee made by almost any brand does not have opening doors it’s original to the show. If you actually disassemble the car you will find Inserts intentionally placed in the door jambs to keep the doors close however they are removable if you for some reason choose to have a general with opening doors.

Hey there you all this guy made a big mistake by open the Doors on this Car, (General Lee ) Especially 1/ 18 scale Diecast 1069 Dodge Charger.
I just used my hands to open the doors. Way easier to do. 😄
