I love the big films off the rocks but watching your family having a blast fishing with you is the best. It brings a smile to my face and reminds of all the awesome moments taking my nephews fishing over the last couple years.

Gotta love it when the little physcos are hooking up so much its hard to get a cast in! One thing people who don't fish will never understand, catching fish is fun. BUT watching someone you brought fishing catch fish is more fun, by alot. When i take someone fly fishing for trout, i could literally leave my rod in the car and just spend the whole day putting them on fish.

Awesome upload Briggsy. To answer a question you asked in the video yes you do get flathead in Africa, im in South Africa and often catch them in the estuaries. Ours are bar tail flathead, not sure if they are exactly the same the ones in OZ.
Your younger boy reminds me so much of myself. When I was younger I ate, drank, and slept fishing. Was my whole world. Wish I could find that enthusiasm again, but I guess thats what becoming a captain and fishing as a job does to ya.

I had an arvo like that with kids - just huge horse bream. They have never forgotten and it’s a memory that the bring up even now as nearly teenagers. PB for me and enough fish to feed the family - we let go about 20!

Epic session boys, lucky boys learning on some expensive gear, as i think giving them cheap kids rods, sets back there fishing development , learning the right way with the right gear, gives them a better experience, wish I had someone like you teaching me when I was growing up, as I spent 30 years bait fishing, and picked up lure and soft plastic fishing three years ago, and haven't used bait since, love my flathead fishing, and watching your videos has definitely been an inspiration, so keep them coming champion, great work,

was interesting watching sonnies technique change over the vid. defiant change in the tip action from erratic to either a single lift to a double lift, wonderful. how he let the flathead take n hook themselves with a nice lift in the rod to set the hooks. bringing the fish in there was a slow walk backwards with a steady lift/retrieve. wonderful work young man. casting will come(thats wat gud dads r for)in time but u have the very basics to enjoy ur lure fishing.
i took the hooks of a lure about 30 grams went to the local oval with my son 4yo and we just cast n cast and finally he got the feel /did that for about a week then gave him a bucket to aim at eventually he hit it and thats when i knew he was ready for hooks to be involved is 18 now and dont see him much because hes always fishing but thats cool
