It's nice to see the Battle of Britain portrayed with early model Spitfires and Hurricanes that aren't available in the IL-2 Great Battles simulator. It's too bad Cliffs of Dover doesn't simulate the rocket cables (and barrage balloons?) - that would be something to see. The Chain Home Radar towers looked good. I love seeing the vintage photos compared with the animation. The maps are helpful but the aircraft icons seem oversized and their 180° snap turns look odd. Your narration was informative. Very entertaining. Nice job.
I immensely enjoyed the actual photos from wartime action, mixed in with the animation! Great work!! You have outdone yourself once again!! Cheers!🥂 love your work!!
Absolutely stunning presentation! My father was serving in the RAF, stationed at Biggin Hill during this time. In common with most servicemen, he hardly ever spoke about it. Your video has brought out in a vivid way what he and countless other men and women suffered. He was an LAC, and served as ground crew, at one time digging out an air raid shelter that had suffered a direct hit from a bomb. As his son, I salute all members of the armed forces who saved our country in the Second World War.....
Incredible production and quality, and I adore the efforts you took to make the simulation shots similar to the real photos taken during the action. Will definitely be tuning back in for the later episodes of this series!
9th Staffel also had 2 Do17s ditch off the French coast on the way home. I recommend reading The Hardest day by Alfred Price. Superb book. Very detailed.
What a superb effort and attention to detail. Beautiful to watch. Great engine sounds and of course the replication of the photographs. I wish you every success with this channel :)
You are back....and now you are the best !!! Never saw some accurate stuff ,like that !! AMAZING !!! Move forward.. That's an extraordinary Commeback...
Fantastic video, loved the cinematography and storytelling, accurate portrayal of various aircraft models, squadron insignia, aircrew details and personal accounts, map overlays and the historical photographs matched up to the recreated scenes, excellent work, looking forward to part 2 and more of the same!
I had been eagerly anticipating the release of this video production and it was better than imagined and that comes on top of the lofty expectations of past episodes. Outstanding and congratulations on the new format. I look forward to subsequent releases.
Well done-this was much better than I thought it would be-fine detail and the original photos with the simulation works nicely. Excellent graphics and authenticity with aircraft detail too-cheers.
Simply superb work. Incredible production quality, the cinematography and editing to portray actual photo shots in sim compliments the photos nicely. Well done.
Brilliant piece of work, and I particularly enjoyed the recreation of so many old newsreel clips that were from actual combat. I look forward to more and hope they are all as well researched as this was.
Very, very well done! This presentation must have taken not just a lot of time assembling but researching and matching those war time fotos. I greatly enjoyed! Thank you.
Yeah, it's really good (I gave it a thumbs up) but anyone watching this absolutely must read Alfred Price's book _'The Hardest Day'._ I think it was Price who coined the name. The book was written in the late 1970s and is full of interviews with people now long gone. Good as this is, you must read the book. It's some of the best narrative history I've ever read.
Agreed. Fantastic book that I must have read seven or eight times. It was the first book I read on the battle aged 12/13 and it still remains my favourite. A few years ago, I picked up a hardback copy that had been signed by Harry Newton and Gunther Unger on their return to Kenley in 1978.
Really, really well put together - a scholarly matching of original photographs to the high-end recreations. Excellent stuff. I think it was later on this day that a bf110 on its way back from Croydon was brought down in our tiny Sussex hamlet- one of our original neighbours was the old retired miller, who still had various cockpit instruments and belt ammunition he and his brother had managed to "liberate" before the Home Guard showed up! Subscribed.
Your content is some of the very best in the genre- thanks for all the work youve put in since the Lemsip days! Wish you all the success with the revamp 🥃
I came across this video and I am impressed with the quality of your production. You have obviously put in a great deal of research and development work on the video. I will be subscribing as soon as I post this comment to help you with the algorithm. Mark from Melbourne Australia 😊
Yes. The narrator didn't mention that Oblt. Schroeder ordered his Gruppe to stay up high, while he attacked the unsuspecting Hurricane squadron completely alone - correctly calculating that a single 109 was much less likely to be spotted approaching the British formation from behind. Schroeder attacked the last Hurricane in formation, shooting it down before the pilot could warn his squadron over the radio. He then repeated the process another 3 times before the remaining British pilots realised what was happening and broke in all directions, prompting the other 109s to pounce on them. Incredible!
A very interesting, informative and absorbing video, the combination of simulation and historical photos makes all the difference from other videos of a similar nature but without the photographs it doesn’t come to life or give any real context to the story. Having said that I must take issue with the German Pilots claim that they approached the target at 5 (five) meters above the ground, that is only in the region of 16 (sixteen) feet, either the Luftwaffe were using a top secret Terrain Following Radar (T.F.R) that we never knew about, their altimeters were wrong, Nazi propaganda machine at work or the newspaper got it wrong, tbh if they had said 50 (fifty) meters I would have been very impressed as that is only around 80 (eighty) feet high, I suspect that the “fog of war” probably had a hand in the mistaken perception of altitude. Still an excellent video, thank you. 😀👍🇬🇧🏴🇺🇦🇮🇱
Excellent video mate!👍 The recreations were well done, and the historical images were a nice touch. Looking forward to the next instalment. The only thing that annoyed me a little bit, was how you called the BF-110 a "one-one-zero". Why not just say "one-ten"? It rolls off the tongue better. I mean, we pretty much all call the 109 a "one-o-nine", not a "one-zero-nine". Anyway that aside, great work! 😉👍
Splendid work. Great sim footage and fine narration. I recently purchased Price's book, and will now move it to the top of my pile. I may have missed something, but what game was used to produce the sim footage? IL-2 Sturmovik?
General de Gaulle said of thiose times, it was a privilidge to be amoungst the British in those days as every man carried himself as if the fate of the entire nation rested upon his own shoulders.
Great job! My only suggestion would be to not use the video game soundtrack. You have done the first video like this that I could finish. Would be awesome with a real soundtrack
Great CGI using actual photos for reference. Too bad Spanish air force did not have Do 17s, Ju 88s and Bf 110s for the 1968 movie but it was still a good effort.
Leave a comment for the algorithm - what did you like about the new format?
I personally think if you can use IL2 battle Stalingrad you should that's my opinion love to soto
Excellent presentation. Keep it up!

Great idea combining photos with the simulation. Nicely presented chronology. Well done!

Excellent use of game footage with actual historical events
This is excellent. The footage from Cliffs Of Dover works really well in combination with the historical photos and information.
Hope the YT gods favour you with the new launch! hope this gives it a little bump.
Nicely done!! Including original photos along with the aircrews. Brilliant work.
What a superb effort and attention to detail. Beautiful to watch. Great engine sounds and of course the replication of the photographs. I wish you every success with this channel :)
Liked it. CLOD was a frustrating game but looked great and is very suitable for this format.

Looks good. I trust we will pick up what the “Battle of Britain” movie missed out on.
Great job! I, too, appreciated the juxtaposition of the original photos and in person reports with the simulation.

that was a treat to watch , congratulations on a great format . Waiting for part 2 .thanks
Such a neat format showing a mix of sim footage with the actual mission notes and images! Looking forward to more content, and best of luck!
Great video about a crucial day in the BoB. Fabulous graphics and images mixed in with archive film footage and photographs.
Simply superb work. Incredible production quality, the cinematography and editing to portray actual photo shots in sim compliments the photos nicely.
Well done.

Thanks a million, my friend, very well done. Keep up the marvellous work! Greetings from Poland!
Thanks Solo, looking forward to this one!
Fantastic Video! Thoroughly enjoyed this evidently well researched production, and can't wait to see where you take it from here!
Excellently done and very well researched video. Please keep up the good work, thank you.
Really nicely put together. Enjoyed the combination of re-enactment and actual photos from the time. 😊

This video should be mandatory viewing at all British Schools.
Really amazing history !!

Love combining the photographs with the sim. Nicely done.
This is one of my favorite channels.
Wow! Exquisite detail, visualization, and facts. Super edutainment!

Great stuff! The Hardest Day is a great book, as is 'The most dangerous enemy' by Stephen Bungay.
Thanks I'll have to check that one out
Yes. More of these please!
Amazingly detailed action of the BoB!
The authentic photos are a great enhancement.
Great vid,just subbed 👍🏻
Nice, entertaining & educational
Continue whit your incredible content
Splendid Old Chap! Well done.
Excellent - great stuff!
What’s even more impressive is those 4 hurricane kills took 17 seconds in total to complete

Thanks! Its quite clear that Von Pebal's account was using hyperbole which makes sense as Der Adler was a propaganda paper
Fantastic !

@@mickmuzzmkmz1628 thanks! I also prefer one ten but I know pedants will say it was originally spoken as one one zero :)
Very good. no personal opinions. Only facts.
Very good
outstanding video and quality! keep it up!, CoD looks way better than sturmovik btw

Excellent video, but it would be better if there were subtitles in Portuguese
Nice.
nice to see cliffs of dover again, release was disgusting though,
So where's part 2 lol
15 feet is not 15 meters. 15 feet is 4.6m (approx)
The phots are a nice touch. Make the vid stand out.
👍👍👍
I think you meant Ju87 five bombers not ju88s
Dive
is there any way to get into the beta, or is it too late?
You can still get into the Beta but you have to keep a look out for the next intake on the forum

The background music is disturbing.
