  • Porsche 718 Boxster and Cayman Side Intake Grilles fit all models (Base, S, and GTS). These grills were designed to produce an OEM look and fit under the OEM trim. These grilles provide extra protection from road and track debris entering the intakes (see Porsche recall information at www.radiatorgrillstore.com). You can purchase these grills and more at www.radiatorgrillstore.com. This installation video was produced by a customer, thank you bud!

Exactly the video I was looking for. I just went to the dealer today to see my 2024 Cayman and noticed the side air grilles, which were ordered in black for an extra $510, were the same color as the car. My wife isn't happy and I was hoping I could remove the grilles to paint them black to match the wing that we also ordered in black. I am relieved to see that these grilles can be easily removed. I will also be adding these screens if the car doesn't already have some. Thanks for the video, I'm relieved.

Those grills look good and went in really easy and will be keeping all the debris that get kicked up from the vehicles your following. I have a 2nd gen 987 Cayman S and people were afraid to remove the impact plate on the intake, side due to fear of incoming debris. I epoxied a 3 mm mesh screen on the back of the grill framework, so air could get in and debris couldn't.

Thanks for the video. Very detailed and great video work (there is another 718 side vent grill video and the person leans into the camera shot and you miss all his work / also it's in a foreign language). Your comment about the "cracking" noise was especially helpful. It is a scary sound but perfectly described. One comment. I had difficulty on the re-install of the vent trim piece. You recommended "right to left". Wouldn't work for me. However left to right (small tabs first) went in without a problem.

Hi Eric, Nice video. Where do you get your plastic lever from ? Shape .. can't quite see what you used. Too Late. Got some levers on Amazon. Took the plastic trim covers off and fitted my own mesh for less that £10.00 .

Thank you for your video. I tried to remote the intake trim but I can only unclip the first two tabs from the bottom, the top one i could not unclip it at all. after trying 20 mins, I decided to take a break and might try a couple of days after.

Take a look at our 718 4.0 side intake removal video. It gives way more detail.

I didn't have any success with a plastic trim tool and ended up marring my vinyl wrap even with tape to protect it. The gap is way too narrow. I managed to get the grills off with some wiggling and hard pulling. The tabs survived, but YMMV.

Anyone try these on the new 718 Spyder or GT4?

Is there any vibration or wiggle of the grill once it is installed? Hopefully not. Thanks.

    • @radiatorgrillestore

Certainly not the grille. The grille is internal and sandwiched between the trim piece and the duct. Though there is a small amount of play in the OEM trim piece.

@@radiatorgrillestore Thank you. I’m on the hunt for a CPO Cayman and your grills (front condensers and side intakes) will be my first mods.

not *remotely* as easy on a 718 Spyder - you have been warned.

This video sucks actually. I don't need to know what they are for, I need details on how to remove. What tool are you using? What do the clips look like once you get them out? What's holding the bezel in?
