I own the 2007 Ford Escape Limited V6 very sporty and reliable. I prefer the older cars compared to newer models for ease of repairs and customization.
I have a 2020 Escape with the 1.5L 3 cylinder. It has plenty of power. A group of four of us, including full luggage did a road trip last year to Atlantic Canada and we had no problem with acceleration, and that was in "normal" mode. In "sport" mode my 3-banger moves quite well, and still gets great gas mileage.
Agreed. I have a 2020 Escape S AWD, and it moves well with that big 1.5L 3cyl. I heard that the RAV4 has a somewhat slow/buzzy engine, even though it has a 203 hp engine (I'm thinking that weight may be a factor here).
I like the changes Enough that I ordered a 24 ESCAPE 2 weeks ago. VAPOR BLUE!! I did order with the 1.5 and after a test drive, I was pressed with the power the 3 cyl has. I’m trading in a 21 Mustang with 310 horse and that 1.5 actually impressed me!
I personally own a 2023 Escape Platinum Hybrid and I quite like it. It has all the features and is set up the way I like it. While I agree that it should come with a cargo shade; it fits my needs.😊
I own a 2017 Ford Escape 2.0 4WD Titanium Metallic Ruby Red w/ black trim, black leather interior, full panoramic sunroof (my first top trim fully loaded vehicle), w/ 59k New England miles on the clock, and I flippin' love it. If you do the maintenance, the car keeps going strong. Now, with that said, If my Escape suddenly became brand new, it would be the Escape featured in this video. Staring out the window as I write this, looking at my Escape. It's awesome. Although I like the new exterior, the new interior needs help. The features are there, just not the look. And use soft, to-the-touch plastic instead of scratchy plastic, Ford. As far as the price, Mine was at a new $39,0040.00, so $44K seems rough. Ford is a good car company that provides sturdy, lasting vehicles that you can rely on. As a consumer, I try to be as frugal as possible. I'm not sure about you guys? My first car was a 76' Ford Cobra Mustang 2 at 16, I still believe in Ford today, and you can get a lot of value out of them. Hope to see you guys out there; stay safe.
I actually quite enjoy the way this car handles. Drives amazing! But the interior is 90 percent touch screen based. Meaning to change the temps, fan, steering/heated seats, navigation is all touch. It is annoying and more of a hazard but I understand they want drivers to be less dependent on the screen once comfortable. I’m not a fan of the rotating knob to change gears. I like resting my arm and hand on a gear shifter, swag. I would def own this car but because of ford service being one star service, I must switch manufacturer’s. The height on this vehicle, acceleration, wide screen, handling makes this car very fun and nifty. Overall, I enjoy this car and upset it isn’t getting the recognition it deserves being ranked 15th place on car and driver. And ford service lacking in the service dept. Ford could do better.
News for those in the UK: This will be the new Kuga ST Line X version. I've been doing the research as i'm waiting for ours, and this is it. The Black Package versions are slightly different and will come with new trim sections. The infotainment system is going to be the new THINK 4 system, complete wireless and with a new wireless centre console to charge your phones. 12.4 inch screen and digital instrument panel. It has new intelligent lighting too. 20" wheels. Specs are as above but boosted engines.
Thx! I have had three Escapes, and it is at the top of my list. It is the perfect size with a decent amount of features not perfect though, unfortunately mpg is two thumbs down! I am curious what Ford will replace it with.
I'm thinking of buying a st line that's loaded but only has a 1.5 liter engine. Should I change my mind? It's red and cost 35,000. Maybe this engine isn't good
I have a 2017 Titanium fully loaded. I paid $29,800 for it brand new late 2016. I never had a problem 66,000 miles. I take it to the dealer for maintenance all the time. The owner of the dealership tries to call once in a while and sending me letters wanting desperately to buy it. I think Blue Book is about $18,000 he is willing to give me $22,000 for it and a deal on a new one. He said everyone is looking for a 2017 to 2019 Escape and wants mine bad. New ones have to many different models, to many useless options, to expensive, and I don't wany any heater controls on a touch screen. I'm keeping my 2017 till it dies.
I also had a 2017 Escape AWD. Loved it, faithfully kept up maintenance..10 days ago, I heard a whine, called Ford service, and it quickly ceased to accelerate and quit..Motor still running--Transmission gone!. Towed, was given only 1k on a trade in..for a loaner 2024 Escape with 3500 mi. All in 2 days... I miss the 2017. 114,900 mi. It should have lasted. Good to hear yours is still running. Just a heads up on the transmission.
I took a PHEV out this weekend. It's suspension was poor (bouncy) and it felt cheaply made. The steering column reminded me of the Mazda column in and out but the vertical adjustment only allowed the steering wheel to be lowered.
No. Ford is discontinuing both the Edge (last year is 2024) and the Escape (last year is 2025). No news yet from Ford on what will be replacing both of these popular models.
Why does Ford keep refusing to give us cargo shade covers to hide rear cargo? I first found out the Explorer doesn’t have any of this nor does the Escape? 😡
It is a shame that you don’t have the trunk cover fitted so we can see what Ford had done to it. I believe that is the most crapy thing mounted on this car…and unfortunately for my I am face with it on a regular basis when using my car’s trunk…
Very over priced for what you get. Ford should return to naturally aspirated motors and less emphasis on tech, return to manual buttons, shifter. The dash iPad is huge, annoying, and a distraction.
It is a terrible refresh. They used a VW front end, and an outdated ugly lightbar, and integrated the brakes with signals in the rear. The giant tablet looks brutal and cheap. Especially with its terrible distracted driver delay touch and graphics. The digital gauges look cheap as all digital gauges do. No buttons and knobs, no heated rear seats, no ventilated front seats. It has a cheap plastic interior for this massive price. Ford does have the best seats in the segment though, so one plus. This is definitely not upscale as some luxury crossovers cost less and have more than this thing. This is a definite flop from Ford.
Digital gages look cheap? Um analog gages look cheap and on paper are actually cheaper than an actual screen lol. Not sure what it is about the infotainment screen you think looks cheap? It’s huge and has great clarity. Most in this segment don’t have ventilated front seats or heated rear seats so it really shouldn’t be expected in this class anyways. The escape competes with the RAV4 and that interior is beyond bland with even fewer tech on the inside. Not sure what “luxury” crossovers cost less and have more as you say. Also, ford sold 140k escapes in 2023 making it the second or third best selling model they offer aside from the F series trucks. So definitely not a flop from ford lol
You folks in USA don’t get turning signals on side mirrors nor power folding mirrors. Well in EU we do..and they also have puddle lamps under :) which you also don’t get. Vent seats also not available in the old continent either for a pity

What is your MPG?
@@63Imp283 In Canada, during on a highway trip (in ECO mode) I can get as low as 6.8 L/100km. I believe that translates into close to 40 MPG.
@@christopherporter916 Awesome

Do you know if the 1.5 has the in oil timing belt like the 1.0 ecoboost?
Not real crazy about the touch screen sticking up like it's glued on. I wish they would have incorporated it into the dash.
No one likes that, it's super ugly but it's cheaper to make.
With it sticking up, it puts it at more eye level and a lot easier to use@@josephcarroll3762
Fog lights and side mirror turn signals should be standard on all vehicles.
I personally own a 2023 Escape Platinum Hybrid and I quite like it. It has all the features and is set up the way I like it. While I agree that it should come with a cargo shade; it fits my needs.😊

They should have kept the front end same length as the 2019 model, i think it looks kinda goofy. Also the touchscreen needs to be in the dash
I love my 2024 ST Elite!!!

I love the look of it I like the light bar that run across the top
Don't forget the rear seats slide back and forth creating more cargo room or more kneespace.
I have a 2011 Escape, and i feel the newer escape looks smaller than mine, especially the trunk space
Beautiful Job Ford.. Looks great!
A one-week test drive and only 1,5min for a driving impression and overall usage?
I am very impressed kind a little pricey thou
Damn I wish you would’ve shown the full screen CarPlay
Car play does stretch fully left to right. Resolution is nicer than what's on my 17 Fusion.
hello, how are the full led headlights on night? I'm coming from a focus with matrix LED and for me this static LED would be a downgrade.. :(
The volume knob looks so far away
It is. You have to get used to the steering wheel mounted volume buttons.
I'm thinking of buying a st line that's loaded but only has a 1.5 liter engine. Should I change my mind? It's red and cost 35,000. Maybe this engine isn't good
what is the battery capacity in the FHEV in the new Kuga?

No physical knobs for the infotainment center, the popup display, and too much plastic are deal breakers
I love it!
It was introduced in 2019 as a 2020 model.
Well I like my base model, life is good.
.
So there are the ST trims then Platinum then ST Elite? Why not switch to highest model Platinum?
A platinum doesn’t automatically come with every bell and whistle. I got into an ST line that had way more options than a platinum I looked at.
This 2024 shown is a variation of the year before. The 2024 is not a refresh of the 2021 style.
I took a PHEV out this weekend. It's suspension was poor (bouncy) and it felt cheaply made. The steering column reminded me of the Mazda column in and out but the vertical adjustment only allowed the steering wheel to be lowered.
What are the rear seat amenities ?
Um, seats, charging ports and rear AC. Like 95% of cars. lol
Thing is, it looks nice but, I won’t pay for one…
Do these have the bad engine blocks?
No those were fixed in 2019.
Will the Escape replace the Edge?
No. Ford is discontinuing both the Edge (last year is 2024) and the Escape (last year is 2025). No news yet from Ford on what will be replacing both of these popular models.
Hi, have you seen my Auto Art?
He was wrong . The larger engine is the 2.5 engine
Does the rear window go all the way down?
No they never have
Mini Ford Edge.
Oldest versions of Escape were the best shape . Fod sucks on designing
Why does Ford keep refusing to give us cargo shade covers to hide rear cargo? I first found out the Explorer doesn’t have any of this nor does the Escape? 😡
my 2024 St Line came with a Cargo Shade I got it Jan 11 2024
Our 2013 has it. The 2023 we rented did too.

Nope nope nope ...it looked the best when it looked like a mini explorer.
2015 had perfect look after that they stayed looking like crap
Not doing it for me
It's really just a ford escape
It looks good but where is V8 engine?
You’re joking right?
How much plastic do you need? Ford Yes 😅
Very over priced for what you get. Ford should return to naturally aspirated motors and less emphasis on tech, return to manual buttons, shifter. The dash iPad is huge, annoying, and a distraction.
Nice car...TURBO IS GARBAGE

I dont like the stop tailigths without signal independent

Console looks terrible
The new Ford Escape 🤢🤮🤢🤮 first thing no turn signals on the mirror caps the backseat door Panel plastic no ventilated seats
You folks in USA don’t get turning signals on side mirrors nor power folding mirrors. Well in EU we do..and they also have puddle lamps under :) which you also don’t get. Vent seats also not available in the old continent either for a pity
Um, plastic door panels in the back seat and no ventilated seats is rather common in this segment….. lol
this thing is way too expensive for what it is
