Jane me too. whatever their songs are, however the line distributions are, i will always respect and support them bc i know their songs are always in high quality and the line distributions don't really affect them as a whole. if they are happy with the line distributions then we shouldn't complain and appreciate their work.
The point is that Jhope has no lines at all in their TITLE SONG (song that they're promoting the most, that plays in the radio etc.), harmonizing is something he has done many times but it isn't something people give mics for in live performances. I love the song but as a jhope biased person I'm sad to not be able to hear his voice (you can hardly hear his voice behind everyone else's so in the end to hear his voice I have to listen hard and not really listen the actual song... which is stupid)

In the book, under neath YE city of Omelas, there is a child who is in misery locked in a cage (Like V in his Stigma short film) and there is also a movie called No Vacany aka The Helpers. In the movie, its a story of 7 friends on a trip. They stop at a motel. Only 3 of them survive. In the 'Not today' teaser, 3 are ahead of the other 4. - IDEK WHAT IM WRITING, mY OWN BRAIN CELLS ARE EXPLODING
+ in Omelas, everyone in the city is aware of the young child under the city, execpt for children. BTS' Young Forever talks about how they always want to be young (maybe because then they didn't know about Taehyung?) - Also, in Japan (idk if this is true) people take off their shoes before they commit suicide. (Jimin is holding shoes that could possibly be Taehyungs?)
That is Jin's shoes V is not suicidal. But maybe youre right for the omelas the other don't know what taetae did but RapMon know since V called him in I need u just after the crime and we see RapMon answering the call in Run japanese ver. The people chasing them are chasing them bcuz the ones that walked away from omelas are BTS but in this version i think they freed V (the locked child) destroying the happiness in omelas...It also explains why V is suicidally depressed in spring day he regrets his decision to leave omelas because Jin was kiled for him. I think spring day happened after not today because they are all mourning and remembering in spring day. Also in is never fully with them in the mv its like hes just watching them live life while not doing anything (even in run the tunnel scene)

The other members are on it because they accept each other no matter what baggage they have and the mountain is now all in the light, they are ready to move on together. I just wanted to say I'm so sorry, I'm sorry for joining the fandom late. I fell in love with them last year in the summer when they dropped "Save Me". Before that they got my attention with "I Need You" than "Fire" sealed the deal. I knew my life was about to change with countless of hours on the Internet spending my time only on BTS and of course I was going to be broke lol but it is so worth it! *I bought their latest two albums ♡*. I've been in Kpop since 09 to some it is known as the era of the "Big 3" from groups like BB, 2NE1, SUJU, SNSD, 2PM & Wonder Girls, that was the golden age and I think in my opinion there will never quiet be an era like 09. I was 17 then now I'm 25 and as you get older your artist begin to age as well and with time groups tend to change also. I'm a BLACKJACK/VIP from the bottom of my heart and soul but since last year I was feeling gloomy with the disbandment of 2NE1 the enlistment of TOP and the hiatus of BB I was beginning to feel this detachment from the Kpop world. Then BTS happened, they literally "*Saved Me*" lol. They brought the thrill, excitement, the obsession, the breath of fresh air back and they brought ME back into Kpop and I feel alive again I feel young again I feel 17 again and even though I'm 3 years late *I'm trying to make up for it lol* I'm so happy to find a new fandom. My only family was my YG Family and it will always be but I think it's time to add a new member to the family .. "ARMYS" 💣💜
HERE IS MY LONG ASS THEORY XD This whole MV made me think about growing up, and looking back at moments in life. They keep making a rectangle shape with their fingers which reminds me of photos and looking back at captured moments. They're recalling all types of moments in their lives- happy, sad, and mundane (like doing laundry.) There are lots of moments in the MV that are really lonely, like the scene with Tae in the beginning, and when Jungkook is standing still and looking lost when everyone else is moving really fast around him. I think that could represent how when you're growing up, you often feel lost and lonely? And Jungkook is in a train keeps hurtling forward- that could represent that no matter what you do, you can't stop the process of growing up. That feeling of futility and being unable to stop it is echoed with him blowing out the match- he tried to put it out but it reignited. Close to the beginning of the MV there's that party scene with the cake flying in slow motion, and they all look really happy. Namjoon is wearing a paper crown, which is something children usually wear at birthday parties. But later on in the MV it looks like a mellow party- they're all staring at the sparkler on the cake and looking sad. This makes me think of how as you grow older, birthdays seem to lose their magic. But throughout the process of growing up, you don't have to deal with things alone! At the end of the MV they're all in the train together which could show that growing up doesn't need to be scary and solitary if you're with your friends. Lots of people are saying that the shoes hanging up represent someone that died, but I think it could represent the death of youth? They're accepting that they're moving into adulthood. And it makes sense that they said that this is the last tour/comeback centered around the theme of youth and growing up. TL/DR, MV is about the death of youth and moving into adulthood, and how scary that can be. But it also shows that growing up doesn't have to be a scary, solitary experience if you have friends. You don't have to walk alone :)

i came up with a theory of what 'spring up' means, so i thought i'd share it here for JRE to see and anyone else who wants to read a theory lol basically, all of them died, it's obvious. there's no concrete evidence any of them survived with everything we've seen throughout the series. we all know how they died (INU era). 'spring day' is them moving on. shoes hanging from a tree doesn't only symbolize the death of someone, but also someone moving on to something bigger. the members weren't ready to accept the fact that they died and that they needed to move on throughout the entire 화양연화 series. however, 'spring day' is the members finally realizing it's time to move on. they relive, create, and enjoy their final moments together. jungkook was on the train which would bring him to heaven because he was ready to move on. however, part of him couldn't move on without his best friends at his side. he searched and searched everywhere he could for them, and when he finally did, jungkook made eye contact with his other half (his half that was ready to move on). they all joined jungkook on the train, the one that would take them to heaven. young forever mv, in my opinion, is heaven. it's where they arrived after their train ride. they were on their way to entering heaven together, despite being separated by fences.
Only Jin died not all of them (thanks god) in Run and in mostly in the Prologue we see many of Jin's memories from when he was still alive they were happy at that time but now that he's dead they cannot accepted it that is why they are doing all those reckless things they don't care anymore because one of their best friend died (suicide) hence the scene in the tunnel every one of them had their way of mourning for example Rapmon chose to carry on with his work, Jiminie and Hobi are suicidal Hobi is taking pills TaeTae is the one who takesbt the worst he has build up all his anger, sadness in him trying to numb it but when he see his father(?) beating up his sister he can't take it anymore and do the most terrible thing -> he killed his father that's why he called rapmon 2 times I need u (in Run japanese ver RapMon is answering the call and learning about TaeTae's actions) + Stigma ( in Reflection we see the call which RapMon missed because of the chains). Many relationship are shown trough the videos: Jimin and Jhope, RapMon and V and Suga and Kookie, the death strenghten theirs frendships. In Run there is the scene of cards castle when they fall Jin seem shocked, he's realising what his death did to his friends he is the cause it is a butterfly effect his death cause so much bad things hence the song Butterfly, the form of a butterfly at the end of Run's choreo, Butterfly effect paint on the wall in run japanese ver. or the black butterflies flying around Jin it's everywhere. Even in the lyrics of Spring Day it's clear that only one of them died they miss Jin. Jin is also always the only one without shoes in the photos the mini film and in this mv Jimin hold his shoes. They all seem sad in the motel because I think that it is Jin's death anniversary and they travelled to that beach to show that they let him go now besides i think this is the beach where he committed suicide it seems like it is the same one from Run and Save Me MVs (not too sure about it tho). That scene with the tree which seemed like a photo or a drawing, they are only 6 if you count and in many scene that is like that : the tunnel scene in Run when they are running from the car drivers it seems that it is Jin who is driving but at the back of the truck there are only five people and the only missing is RapMon it is him who is driving they are just acting as if Jin is still alive that shows how they cannot accept his death and that he is still in theirs minds. But for real since their debut all the mvs are linked the piano for example it is almost in every videos sometimes damaged sometimes looking new many titles of theirs song were written on the walls of Run japanese ver and in another one (i don't remember which one) "BTS RUN" is written on the wall 1 or 2 years before the actual release lol and in Save Me our little Kookie is wearing a shirt where the date release of Boy in Luv's dance practice is written. Anyways I am really wary for Not Today because on the teaser they are pursued by the guys they "killed" in Fire which represent all the bad actions they did in the past and that they feel sorry for and now those bitches are running back to them :( Sorry for the errors, english is not my first language :)
*I hope you read this and share your opinion with me^^* So the message I got from the MV is the following: While in INeedU Run they portrayed the inner struggles and growing pains yout suffer on your own, in Spring Day they show us further progression from that. They show Kookie for exapmle; reminicent of something. It looks like he is riding the train alone. But then the camera zooms out and we see that Kookie was with the other members all along. In an other sequence he runs around looking for something seemingly the only person in a dark world. Yet when he passes through the door, made it though his struggles, the members appear and he looks relieved. I think BTS wants to tell people that no matter how dark the times, how difficult the struggles, how harsh it seems to come to terms with something, like for example loosing someone or how lonely one feels at the moment, somehow there will always be someone to walk through it all with you. Even if you yourself don't see them or can't realize them at the moment. The lyrics speak of not beeing able to let go of someone, wanting to hate that person for leaviing and making the lyrical persona feel sad and angry. Putting that on top of the mix it makes me think they want to show that for examole loosing someone is painful and eventho it is you hurting on your own, ther will be someone willing to walk with you through it and its ok to take your time to heal. Considering it all, I think this can be taken as a tribute to the victims of the Sewol Ferry, but it does not have to be understood like that. I feel that this is a letter (for lack of words) to really everybody. It's part of life to struggle, grow or loose and it is comforting to think that there is someone to Walk alongside with us. Quite literally #YouNeverWalkAlone. And as much as I have seen ARMYs all around the globe reaching for each others' hands, encouraging, laughing, discussing, fangirling, dreaming etc. I believe it to be true somehow. ^^ As you all know we are all family here, Love you ARMY! Love you Bangtan! Lets be exellent to each other.
I totally agree with you and more precisely they did lose someone -> Jin died from suicide and in I need you or Run we clearly see the struggles they had they could not grieve and prefered to do all those bad things. Now they had accepted that Jin died and they cannot change it they are ready to move on but you should also link spring day w/ bs&t and Fire for real all the mvs are linked there is really a story which is very deep and meaningful

am I the only one who understood what V was doing in the first scene? if you put your ear on the ground you'll be able to hear the sound of a car coming from afar, and the same thing goes with the train, he's waiting for the train so he's checking if its close or not
Yeah. I've watched a few reactions and everyone seems to think V is contemplating suicide on the traintracks, but actually hes just checking to see how close the train is. It's ok everyone! If you put your ear to a train rail you can tell whether or not a train is on it, even when it's too far away to hear standing up. I guess it's an out in the country thing. In cities there's never a train far enough away for you not to hear it, so you wouldn't know about checking the rail.
Um new theory after watching this several times but V is not in a lot of the group scenes and I'm guessing its intentional so maybe he's the dead character? After rap monsters rap when jimin starts singing the scene thats in slow motion shows 6 members (unless I'm blind) and when jungkook is running to the train 5 members come and join jungkook and later v comes. Also near the end when they are walking in the field towards the tree jimin and v are seen walking together however when they zoom out jimin is seen walking alone ahead of the group. And according to the omelas theory and v being trapped in cage during stigma it makes sense if he was the character that died and that could be the reason why jimin is seen holding the shoes because they are so close. I woke up at 6:00 am for bts and finally at 8 they released such an amazing video! ive been listening to all 4 tracks on repeat and decided to watch the music video for the millionth time and I just noticed alot of small details that led to this theory so who knows BUT CAN I JUST SAY BTS AND BIGHIT REALLY DO KNOW HOW TO SET THE STANDARDS HIGH GOSH THEY DID AMAZING

I was watching Josh Binder's M/V reaction and someone named +Bruhhh posted this theory in the comments. It makes a lot of sense. I think there are many ways to look at and interpret this MV and all of them or sort of correct regarding loneliness, friendship, recovery. But in relation to The Ones Who Walk Away From Omelas, and I know some people are saying they can't find the connection, I think the connection is more about the Sewol Tragedy more than anything. If you will notice one of the very first scenes of the MV is Jimin on the beach beside the sea holding a pair of shoes that look like something high school students would wear. I think this symbolizes the students who passed away during that incident. And Jungkook is a survivor of the tragedy while Jimin is a relative of a student who died. Jungkook feels pain and loneliness while Jimin feels grief. Then Rapmon goes inside the motel which symbolizes Omelas, a place of carefree and happy society because they know they are sacrificing the life of a child, in this case, the victims of the Sewol tragedy. This symbolizes how people in Korea, especially their government, chose to ignore the incident and consider it taboo. There was even a scandal recently regarding their President who was said to be involved in a cult and news surfaced that the rescue response during the Sewol incident was delayed because the supposed "cult" wanted to sacrifice those children. Omelas is Korea, a society carefree and seemingly happy on the outside but inside is filled with guilt and unhappiness relying on the the pain of a chosen few for their own happiness. If you will notice during Yoongi's verse he is seating in a pile of clothes and it could symbolize the life of all the students who died during the incident and lingering memories they've left to their families and friends, materialized by all the clothes they've left behind. In that verse Suga is saying he doesn't want to blame the person, but he will erase her because it is more painful to blame her. I guess Suga is talking about how those who felt the grief and pain wanted to move on because it hurt too much and it wasn't the students' fault for dying. Then pan to the entire group seating atop the mountain of clothes for all the people, not only the victims of the Sewol incident, but every nameless person who experienced injustice and suppression for the supposed outwardly perfect society of Korea. But Jungkook who was seemingly alone in the train and hurting from loneliness realizes after a long search that there are people with him, that even though he survived the tragedy which nobody wanted to talk about thus alienated him, there are a few who never abandoned him and are there with him. That Jimin who was grieving the pain felt the hand of Hoseok inside the train because there are people, who might not be vocal before, but recently have gone to protest the injustice that happened during the Sewol incident and every injustice like it when millions of people flooded the streets and called for the resignation of their President because people have realized that this kind of society is a sham, and they've decided to walk away from Omelas. That there are people in Korea who are walking with the victims, the survivors, the grieving family, that they are never walking alone. Jungkook, the incident survivor, realizes that there are people beside him who gives him comfort, while Jimin is reassured by the support he gets and in time, they all walk away from the city of Omelas, and arrive at the end of the world, where Jimin, the grieving family is able to mourn and let go of the students who died during the incident for all the world to see symbolized by the hanging of the shoes to the tree. A Spring Day has come, winter has ended, the Omelas society of Korea which deals injustice and suppression to a few in order for the whole to be happy and functional is no more, and people have decided to mourn, to grieve, to comfort each other, to look out for the sad, the lonely, the weak, and walk together because nobody deserves to walk alone. You never walk alone.

It's actually Jungkook whom Jimin was mourning for and not V, and who tied his shoes up to the tree. V represents death according to a theory I read. And Jungkook represents the students in the ferry. That's why he ran through doors and saw his clone when he saw the train. It means he struggles to stay alive and could have saved his life in the span of time. Speaking of time, RM represents the latter, in which why he was on the train throughout the video. The train also represents the ferry itself. That is why there is a point where the train corridor was half-tilted. But it could be any other theories besides the accident, like mourning for a demise of a friend or valuing friendships.
The hanging sneakers have many meanings but in contemporary art they mean that someone died, that's why they hung them. And if I am not mistaken of the era of i need u in future jin dies, which would mean that they are finally accepting the death of their friend, and more jimin to whom it cost more to accept it

I think Taehyung died in the music video. Think about it, he was sitting on the railway and the train was fast approaching. Plus the shoes up on the tree represent the death of someone. So Taehyung must be dead in the MV.

I was singing this song like 1 minute ago, and I started crying for NO REASON during the chorus. My heart has a soft spot for the sad songs (especially spring day and butterfly)
aҍҍყ it's so weird to talk about brushing our teeth on a BTS reaction video but same! I have a horrible gag reflex so even brushing my teeth makes me want to gag.
In my opinion the neglected child from the story of Omelas can be either V or Jin. I feel like this MV connects even more with the solo teasers from before than Blood Sweat & Tears. V was held up in a cage, he had to let go of the puppy - just like in the story, the kid had to be left completely alone, he couldn't experience any compassion or joy. We can pretty much assume V died. The fact that Jimin is the one mourning the most makes sense too since Jimin and V are known for being best friends. Jin though, was also held captive in his solo film. He was held in a beautiful place, but still he was all alone and he seemed to be held there for longer. We saw scratched door as he tried to escape the misery. Also, the Rap Mon's intro in Jin's solo film might have a whole different meaning. "Who would be born must first destroy the world". The child leaving his prison would bring chaos to Omelas and destroy the utopia. Jin's song "Awake" may be a song of someone held in the darkness who have a chance to leave now and experience a different life. So I'm saying what if Jin was a neglected child who somehow escaped the prison and all the members are "the ones who walk away from Omelas". The utopia itself was destroyed (it may be a metaphor of the innocent youth, which was gone after seeing the cruelty of the world). V committed a suicide because he knew about Jin being held captive before and couldn't do anything. Maybe this is the sin he has committed, the one he was talking about in "Stigma" (putting aside him killing a person, maybe it's a whole different aspect). Maybe I'm just overthinking. But if this is true, then BigHit and BTS are not only using literature in their MVs, but they are also linking the stories from the books together into a whole new story. They are creating a masterpiece.
This entire music video revolves around life passing quickly. They lived so much of their lives watching eachother grow up. Jungkook watching himself go by on the train refers to him watching his life pass by his eyes. The song has the theme of going from Winter to spring and not being able to forget someone no matter how hard you try
The pile of clothes is maybe a reference to Christian Boltanski - "Personnes", art installations in Paris. People think it's a symbol about the tragic Sewol Ferry accident. The shoes that Jimin picked up on the beach belong to a victim (his best friend? (V's line that gave you chills in the song)), which is why Jimin looks so sad during the whole MV. Unfortunately, many koreans lost someone that day but "you never walk alone". In the end Jimin wasn't alone but with his friends. Almost all the members were alone at the beginning of the MV but not at the end. BTS tries to comfort people with their music. YNWA album & SD are a healing album/song. Also the shoes on the tree symbolyze that someone died, Jimin's friend? The victims of the Sewol Ferry accident? BTS recently donated money to the victims' families. So many innocent people died that day :( Great reaction. I love Spring Day and your pre-intro was cool.

I watched the music video, watched a theory and then this and was bawling for the 3rd time in 5 minutes. The whole idea I saw about the Sewol tragedy and the music video being a tribute, was so heartfelt and emotional. Where V reminded me when I was int that state really got to me, and the lyrics actually tie in with the tragedy. I’m so proud of them for raising awareness for something like that, and it makes me so happy they are willing to fight for what’s right.
I love the use Omelas in the MV, it fits the lyrics of the song so well and reinforces the message that BTS is committed to sending - witnessing the injustice of youth but overcoming it together.

Jane me too. whatever their songs are, however the line distributions are, i will always respect and support them bc i know their songs are always in high quality and the line distributions don't really affect them as a whole. if they are happy with the line distributions then we shouldn't complain and appreciate their work.
The point is that Jhope has no lines at all in their TITLE SONG (song that they're promoting the most, that plays in the radio etc.), harmonizing is something he has done many times but it isn't something people give mics for in live performances. In the book, under neath YE city of Omelas, there is a child who is in misery locked in a cage (Like V in his Stigma short film) and there is also a movie called No Vacany aka The Helpers. In the movie, its a story of 7 friends on a trip. They stop at a motel. Only 3 of them survive. In the 'Not today' teaser, 3 are ahead of the other 4.

The laundry (someone who has a lot of dirty laundry has a lot of hidden things) signifies all the secrets and emotional baggage that suga had (it was in the dark) , the light was starting to shine on the mountain meaning he's ready to bring it all out. The other members are on it because they accept each other no matter what baggage they have and the mountain is now all in the light, they are ready to move on together. I just wanted to say I'm so sorry, I'm sorry for joining the fandom late. I fell in love with them last year in the summer when they dropped "Save Me". Before that they got my attention with "I Need You" than "Fire" sealed the deal. I knew my life was about to change with countless of hours on the Internet spending my time only on BTS and of course I was going to be broke lol but it is so worth it! *I bought their latest two albums ♡*. I've been in Kpop since 09 to some it is known as the era of the "Big 3" from groups like BB, 2NE1, SUJU, SNSD, 2PM & Wonder Girls, that was the golden age and I think in my opinion there will never quiet be an era like 09. I was 17 then now I'm 25 and as you get older your artist begin to age as well and with time groups tend to change also. I'm a BLACKJACK/VIP from the bottom of my heart and soul but since last year I was feeling gloomy with the disbandment of 2NE1 the enlistment of TOP and the hiatus of BB I was beginning to feel this detachment from the Kpop world. Then BTS happened, they literally "*Saved Me*" lol. They brought the thrill, excitement, the obsession, the breath of fresh air back and they brought ME back into Kpop and I feel alive again I feel young again I feel 17 again and even though I'm 3 years late *I'm trying to make up for it lol* I'm so happy to find a new fandom. This whole MV made me think about growing up, and looking back at moments in life. They keep making a rectangle shape with their fingers which reminds me of photos and looking back at captured moments. They're recalling all types of moments in their lives- happy, sad, and mundane (like doing laundry.)
There are lots of moments in the MV that are really lonely, like the scene with Tae in the beginning, and when Jungkook is standing still and looking lost when everyone else is moving really fast around him. I think that could represent how when you're growing up, you often feel lost and lonely? And Jungkook is in a train keeps hurtling forward- that could represent that no matter what you do, you can't stop the process of growing up. That feeling of futility and being unable to stop it is echoed with him blowing out the match- he tried to put it out but it reignited.
Close to the beginning of the MV there's that party scene with the cake flying in slow motion, and they all look really happy. Namjoon is wearing a paper crown, which is something children usually wear at birthday parties. But later on in the MV it looks like a mellow party- they're all staring at the sparkler on the cake and looking sad. This makes me think of how as you grow older, birthdays seem to lose their magic.
But throughout the process of growing up, you don't have to deal with things alone! At the end of the MV they're all in the train together which could show that growing up doesn't need to be scary and solitary if you're with your friends. Lots of people are saying that the shoes hanging up represent someone that died, but I think it could represent the death of youth? They're accepting that they're moving into adulthood. And it makes sense that they said that this is the last tour/comeback centered around the theme of youth and growing up.
TL/DR, MV is about the death of youth and moving into adulthood, and how scary that can be. But it also shows that growing up doesn't have to be a scary, solitary experience if you have friends. You don't have to walk alone :)

i came up with a theory of what 'spring up' means, so i thought i'd share it here for JRE to see and anyone else who wants to read a theory lol
basically, all of them died, it's obvious. there's no concrete evidence any of them survived with everything we've seen throughout the series. we all know how they died (INU era). 'spring day' is them moving on. shoes hanging from a tree doesn't only symbolize the death of someone, but also someone moving on to something bigger. the members weren't ready to accept the fact that they died and that they needed to move on throughout the entire 화양연화 series. however, 'spring day' is the members finally realizing it's time to move on. they relive, create, and enjoy their final moments together. jungkook was on the train which would bring him to heaven because he was ready to move on. however, part of him couldn't move on without his best friends at his side. he searched and searched everywhere he could for them, and when he finally did, jungkook made eye contact with his other half (his half that was ready to move on). they all joined jungkook on the train, the one that would take them to heaven. young forever mv, in my opinion, is heaven. it's where they arrived after their train ride. they were on their way to entering heaven together, despite being separated by fences.

Only Jin died not all of them (thanks god) in Run and in mostly in the Prologue we see many of Jin's memories from when he was still alive they were happy at that time but now that he's dead they cannot accepted it that is why they are doing all those reckless things they don't care anymore because one of their best friend died (suicide) hence the scene in the tunnel every one of them had their way of mourning for example Rapmon chose to carry on with his work, Jiminie and Hobi are suicidal Hobi is taking pills TaeTae is the one who takesbt the worst he has build up all his anger, sadness in him trying to numb it but when he see his father(?) beating up his sister he can't take it anymore and do the most terrible thing -> he killed his father that's why he called rapmon 2 times I need u (in Run japanese ver RapMon is answering the call and learning about TaeTae's actions) + Stigma ( in Reflection we see the call which RapMon missed because of the chains). Many relationship are shown trough the videos: Jimin and Jhope, RapMon and V and Suga and Kookie, the death strenghten theirs frendships. In Run there is the scene of cards castle when they fall Jin seem shocked, he's realising what his death did to his friends he is the cause it is a butterfly effect his death cause so much bad things hence the song Butterfly, the form of a butterfly at the end of Run's choreo, Butterfly effect paint on the wall in run japanese ver. or the black butterflies flying around Jin it's everywhere.
Even in the lyrics of Spring Day it's clear that only one of them died they miss Jin.
Jin is also always the only one without shoes in the photos the mini film and in this mv Jimin hold his shoes.
They all seem sad in the motel because I think that it is Jin's death anniversary and they travelled to that beach to show that they let him go now besides i think this is the beach where he committed suicide it seems like it is the same one from Run and Save Me MVs (not too sure about it tho). That scene with the tree which seemed like a photo or a drawing, they are only 6 if you count and in many scene that is like that : the tunnel scene in Run when they are running from the car drivers it seems that it is Jin who is driving but at the back of the truck there are only five people and the only missing is RapMon it is him who is driving they are just acting as if Jin is still alive that shows how they cannot accept his death and that he is still in theirs minds.
But for real since their debut all the mvs are linked the piano for example it is almost in every videos sometimes damaged sometimes looking new many titles of theirs song were written on the walls of Run japanese ver and in another one (i don't remember which one) "BTS RUN" is written on the wall 1 or 2 years before the actual release lol and in Save Me our little Kookie is wearing a shirt where the date release of Boy in Luv's dance practice is written.
Anyways I am really wary for Not Today because on the teaser they are pursued by the guys they "killed" in Fire which represent all the bad actions they did in the past and that they feel sorry for and now those bitches are running back to them :(

So the message I got from the MV is the following:
While in INeedU Run they portrayed the inner struggles and growing pains yout suffer on your own, in Spring Day they show us further progression from that.
They show Kookie for exapmle; reminicent of something. It looks like he is riding the train alone. But then the camera zooms out and we see that Kookie was with the other members all along. In an other sequence he runs around looking for something seemingly the only person in a dark world. Yet when he passes through the door, made it though his struggles, the members appear and he looks relieved. I think BTS wants to tell people that no matter how dark the times, how difficult the struggles, how harsh it seems to come to terms with something, like for example loosing someone or how lonely one feels at the moment, somehow there will always be someone to walk through it all with you. Even if you yourself don't see them or can't realize them at the moment.
The lyrics speak of not beeing able to let go of someone, wanting to hate that person for leaviing and making the lyrical persona feel sad and angry. Putting that on top of the mix it makes me think they want to show that for examole loosing someone is painful and eventho it is you hurting on your own, ther will be someone willing to walk with you through it and its ok to take your time to heal.
Considering it all, I think this can be taken as a tribute to the victims of the Sewol Ferry, but it does not have to be understood like that. I feel that this is a letter (for lack of words) to really everybody. It's part of life to struggle, grow or loose and it is comforting to think that there is someone to Walk alongside with us.
Quite literally #YouNeverWalkAlone. And as much as I have seen ARMYs all around the globe reaching for each others' hands, encouraging, laughing, discussing, fangirling, dreaming etc. I believe it to be true somehow. ^^

am I the only one who understood what V was doing in the first scene? if you put your ear on the ground you'll be able to hear the sound of a car coming from afar, and the same thing goes with the train, he's waiting for the train so he's checking if its close or not
Yeah. I've watched a few reactions and everyone seems to think V is contemplating suicide on the traintracks, but actually hes just checking to see how close the train is. It's ok everyone! If you put your ear to a train rail you can tell whether or not a train is on it, even when it's too far away to hear standing up. I guess it's an out in the country thing. In cities there's never a train far enough away for you not to hear it, so you wouldn't know about checking the rail.
Um new theory after watching this several times but V is not in a lot of the group scenes and I'm guessing its intentional so maybe he's the dead character? After rap monsters rap when jimin starts singing the scene thats in slow motion shows 6 members (unless I'm blind) and when jungkook is running to the train 5 members come and join jungkook and later v comes. Also near the end when they are walking in the field towards the tree jimin and v are seen walking together however when they zoom out jimin is seen walking alone ahead of the group. And according to the omelas theory and v being trapped in cage during stigma it makes sense if he was the character that died and that could be the reason why jimin is seen holding the shoes because they are so close. I woke up at 6:00 am for bts and finally at 8 they released such an amazing video! ive been listening to all 4 tracks on repeat and decided to watch the music video for the millionth time and I just noticed alot of small details that led to this theory so who knows BUT CAN I JUST SAY BTS AND BIGHIT REALLY DO KNOW HOW TO SET THE STANDARDS HIGH GOSH THEY DID AMAZING

I was watching Josh Binder's M/V reaction and someone named +Bruhhh posted this theory in the comments. It makes a lot of sense.
I think there are many ways to look at and interpret this MV and all of them or sort of correct regarding loneliness, friendship, recovery. But in relation to The Ones Who Walk Away From Omelas, and I know some people are saying they can't find the connection, I think the connection is more about the Sewol Tragedy more than anything. If you will notice one of the very first scenes of the MV is Jimin on the beach beside the sea holding a pair of shoes that look like something high school students would wear. I think this symbolizes the students who passed away during that incident. And Jungkook is a survivor of the tragedy while Jimin is a relative of a student who died. Jungkook feels pain and loneliness while Jimin feels grief. Then Rapmon goes inside the motel which symbolizes Omelas, a place of carefree and happy society because they know they are sacrificing the life of a child, in this case, the victims of the Sewol tragedy. This symbolizes how people in Korea, especially their government, chose to ignore the incident and consider it taboo. There was even a scandal recently regarding their President who was said to be involved in a cult and news surfaced that the rescue response during the Sewol incident was delayed because the supposed "cult" wanted to sacrifice those children. Omelas is Korea, a society carefree and seemingly happy on the outside but inside is filled with guilt and unhappiness relying on the the pain of a chosen few for their own happiness. If you will notice during Yoongi's verse he is seating in a pile of clothes and it could symbolize the life of all the students who died during the incident and lingering memories they've left to their families and friends, materialized by all the clothes they've left behind. In that verse Suga is saying he doesn't want to blame the person, but he will erase her because it is more painful to blame her. I guess Suga is talking about how those who felt the grief and pain wanted to move on because it hurt too much and it wasn't the students' fault for dying. Then pan to the entire group seating atop the mountain of clothes for all the people, not only the victims of the Sewol incident, but every nameless person who experienced injustice and suppression for the supposed outwardly perfect society of Korea. But Jungkook who was seemingly alone in the train and hurting from loneliness realizes after a long search that there are people with him, that even though he survived the tragedy which nobody wanted to talk about thus alienated him, there are a few who never abandoned him and are there with him. That Jimin who was grieving the pain felt the hand of Hoseok inside the train because there are people, who might not be vocal before, but recently have gone to protest the injustice that happened during the Sewol incident and every injustice like it when millions of people flooded the streets and called for the resignation of their President because people have realized that this kind of society is a sham, and they've decided to walk away from Omelas. That there are people in Korea who are walking with the victims, the survivors, the grieving family, that they are never walking alone. Jungkook, the incident survivor, realizes that there are people beside him who gives him comfort, while Jimin is reassured by the support he gets and in time, they all walk away from the city of Omelas, and arrive at the end of the world, where Jimin, the grieving family is able to mourn and let go of the students who died during the incident for all the world to see symbolized by the hanging of the shoes to the tree. A Spring Day has come, winter has ended, the Omelas society of Korea which deals injustice and suppression to a few in order for the whole to be happy and functional is no more, and people have decided to mourn, to grieve, to comfort each other, to look out for the sad, the lonely, the weak, and walk together because nobody deserves to walk alone. You never walk alone.

It's actually Jungkook whom Jimin was mourning for and not V, and who tied his shoes up to the tree. V represents death according to a theory I read. And Jungkook represents the students in the ferry. That's why he ran through doors and saw his clone when he saw the train. It means he struggles to stay alive and could have saved his life in the span of time. Speaking of time, RM represents the latter, in which why he was on the train throughout the video. The train also represents the ferry itself. That is why there is a point where the train corridor was half-tilted.
But it could be any other theories besides the accident, like mourning for a demise of a friend or valuing friendships.

In my opinion the neglected child from the story of Omelas can be either V or Jin. I feel like this MV connects even more with the solo teasers from before than Blood Sweat & Tears.
V was held up in a cage, he had to let go of the puppy - just like in the story, the kid had to be left completely alone, he couldn't experience any compassion or joy. We can pretty much assume V died. The fact that Jimin is the one mourning the most makes sense too since Jimin and V are known for being best friends.
Jin though, was also held captive in his solo film. He was held in a beautiful place, but still he was all alone and he seemed to be held there for longer. We saw scratched door as he tried to escape the misery. Also, the Rap Mon's intro in Jin's solo film might have a whole different meaning. "Who would be born must first destroy the world". The child leaving his prison would bring chaos to Omelas and destroy the utopia. Jin's song "Awake" may be a song of someone held in the darkness who have a chance to leave now and experience a different life.
So I'm saying what if Jin was a neglected child who somehow escaped the prison and all the members are "the ones who walk away from Omelas". The utopia itself was destroyed (it may be a metaphor of the innocent youth, which was gone after seeing the cruelty of the world).
V committed a suicide because he knew about Jin being held captive before and couldn't do anything. Maybe this is the sin he has committed, the one he was talking about in "Stigma" (putting aside him killing a person, maybe it's a whole different aspect).
Maybe I'm just overthinking. But if this is true, then BigHit and BTS are not only using literature in their MVs, but they are also linking the stories from the books together into a whole new story. They are creating a masterpiece.
This entire music video revolves around life passing quickly. They lived so much of their lives watching eachother grow up. Jungkook watching himself go by on the train refers to him watching his life pass by his eyes. The song has the theme of going from Winter to spring and not being able to forget someone no matter how hard you try
The pile of clothes is maybe a reference to Christian Boltanski - "Personnes", art installations in Paris. Here a review :

People think it's a symbol about the tragic Sewol Ferry accident. The shoes that Jimin picked up on the beach belong to a victim (his best friend? (V's line that gave you chills in the song)), which is why Jimin looks so sad during the whole MV. Unfortunately, many koreans lost someone that day but "you never walk alone". In the end Jimin wasn't alone but with his friends. Almost all the members were alone at the beginning of the MV but not at the end.
BTS tries to comfort people with their music. YNWA album & SD are a healing album/song.
Also the shoes on the tree symbolyze that someone died, Jimin's friend? The victims of the Sewol Ferry accident?
BTS recently donated money to the victims' families. So many innocent people died that day :(

I watched the music video, watched a theory and then this and was bawling for the 3rd time in 5 minutes. The whole idea I saw about the Sewol tragedy and the music video being a tribute, was so heartfelt and emotional. Where V reminded me when I was int that state really got to me, and the lyrics actually tie in with the tragedy. I’m so proud of them for raising awareness for something like that, and it makes me so happy they are willing to fight for what’s right.
I love the use Omelas in the MV, it fits the lyrics of the song so well and reinforces the message that BTS is committed to sending - witnessing the injustice of youth but overcoming it together.
