    Thank you Liz! I now feel more confident to try and make my pearl necklace and matching earrings for my vintage wedding later this year! I am going to use a lot of pearls from my late grandmother. You were great!

    I'm glad that the video gave you some inspiration to use your grandmother's pearls. That will be a special piece for your wedding. I wish you all the very best on your special day.

    Bravo! I have been searching high and low for the last couple of weeks to see the perfect video. I am in the process of perfecting my hand knotting skills and all of a sudden it came together and the knots were perfect against the pearls! A few weeks ago, my son and future daughter in law came to my house and she asked me if I would make her jewelry for her wedding! I was very honored, but wanted to do it right and your video is perfect!! Thank you Liz!!!

    Thanks for posting your video. I was looking for a video that would teach how to make french wire for stringing thread & wire protection for my necklaces & bracelets designs. Now I can DIY, save money, & time instead of going to buy it or waiting for it to be shipped to me. I'm so glad I found your videos. You're very straight forward & stay on task in your teaching/illustrating videos, and I like that!. I subscribed too! : )

    Liz thank you very much for your very clear directions for threading beads especially with the pearls. I was so confused and very apprehensive about re-threading mine that I have not wore them in years; as it was a method that I wanted to learn and do myself. The earrings I am not concerned about since I already make earrings anyway. Again thank you very much.

    Hi Denise, Since i have a lot of remaining thread, somewhere closer to the clasp, i made a couple of large loops, glued it and slip it through the middle of the beads like I've shown on the video. Then i let it dry b4 handling the necklace again then proceeded to tying more loops and gluing then finishing it off.

    Thanks sooooo much for this. I recently did a class on pearl jewellery, and they did NOT teach this to us. And when I went to sell my stuff, all the customers were asking for a french-wire finish, and I had no idea what the heck that was. So thanks a LOT... you probably saved my barely-there business :D

    Interesting how you began and finished the necklace. Great ideas. I'm wondering why you didn't do the traditional knotting. If the pearls should cut the cord the wearer will be chasing after and praying she finds all her pearls.Ilove your designs and watching your tutorials.

    • @LizKreate
      @LizKreate  7 ปีที่แล้ว

      Traditional knotting is not done because these are just glass pearls which has large holes.
      If if were expensive pearls which traditionally has small holes, then knotting in between the pearls for protection from rubbing and getting lost is the best option using techniques from the start and the finish of this video.
      Thanks for watching. Cheers, Liz

    Hi Liz, Do you think I could make the gimp with 26 gauge wire? I've already got that, I don't want to buy wire just to make a tiny item like two gimps.

  • @Abigahell

    I like your video but you should really put knot between each pearls because...
    1- They will not rub on each other so they will last longer (on the mohs scale pearl are 2-1/2 to 4...very fragile!)
    2- When the silk age, it stretch so you will see a big gap near hook!
    3- Pearl can be very expensive! If the necklace silk rip, you will only lose 1 or 2 precious pearl^^
    Hope that help!

    • @LizKreate
      @LizKreate  9 ปีที่แล้ว

      This video mainly emphasizes on the making of the french wire and clasp transformation. A knot between the pearls is a good idea if one wears the pearl everyday. Re-threading once a year will avoid silk rip or losing a pearl or 2. Some people who rarely wears their pearl necklace only need to have it re-thread once in a lifetime. Thanks for watching and commenting Abigahell and wish you all the very best. Cheers, Liz
