Destiny makes a really good point here. How our world has become so opaque to scrutiny ...and the consequences. For virtually all of recorded history...the world and our lives were essentially organic. We could observe and ...to at least a reasonable degree...comprehend what we were observing. With the industrial revolution that began to change. With the arrival of electronics and, especially, semi-conductors and computers...everything is now utterly impenetrable. Even the experts often do not know what is going on. Thoreau once said..."The mass of men lead lives of quiet desperation." The desperation is a direct consequence of comfort level. The degree to which we feel we 'know' who we are and are in control of our environment. That control has effectively completely evaporated over the last century.

Fox News has a larger viewership than cnn and msnbc combined, Facebook I thought was more comprised of right wing posts by users and groups, but it’s hard to get exact figures, at the very least it’s 50/50, and Twitter is owned by Elon Musk. Conservatives think they don’t have a voice but the truth is they don’t have a “popular” voice. By that I mean that the cultural zeitgeist has pretty much always been on the side of progressives, and so conservatives do have a voice but the country at large isn’t as interested in what they have to say, and that frustrates them.

Listening to Sam at the end STILL talking about Jan 6 like people give a shit or like it was an "insurrection" is just so wonderfully funny. Yes, Sam, you're right. The dudes who all own guns decided to show up to a single building and overthrow the entirety of the government without bringing any of their weapons and their incitement to go inside the building was caused by some old man yelling "let's go inside", while they get led around by police and take selfies and while a small minority throw shit at the building and yell stupid shit. Truly democracy was under attack on that fabled day that shall live on in people's heads forever.

the Candace Owens interview to me really exemplified just how much leeway Destiny was willing to give Candace that he did not and does not give to progressives like the hosts of The Majority report, or Cenk Uygur. Who he's now been very nice to lately, probably because they debated Biden dropping out. Cenk was adament about how much it would help the Democratic party. Destiny was opposed.
Seeing him interact with left wing commentators, he gives them zero benefit of the doubt, holds their feet to the fire quicker etc. With Candace, he seemed to intimidated to call out Candace's BS, as he'd normally do, others.

Audience capture is what Destiny was doing up until Jan 6, and the Trump assassination just took him off the edge. US Democracy seem to be Destiny’s ideology. He seems to care so much about it. He is willing to go completely triggered defending it against Trump and his Cult. But what he forgets when he labels Progressives or MAGAz as lunatics is that may be they too have certain Ideologies that they care so much about even if many might look at them as woke or primitive. I can tell that Jan 6 hits close to home for Destiny. 😊😊

He sometimes is dragged into the mire when talking to stupid people. Matches the stupidity with some of his more stupid points, digs his heels in over minutiae that doesn't matter. Doubles down over silly things. Drawn into low calibre battles where everyone ends up covered in excrement.
When he's at his best though, very capable, smart guy.
