I have that exact vehicle. I got it earlier in the year when it came out. And I use it as my backyard dirt course racer. Handles extremely well right out of the box.
This review and upgrade analysis is spot on by my friend Marc at Parkflyers. I bought a green Rustler Ultimate a few months ago from him and it is simply the best RC I own out of the box. I find myself grabbing it and taking it out for a RIP over a couple other RC’s I own. It is a great run every time I take it out. Marc showed you all the telemetry app and I must agree with him it is great to have. It was the Ultimate choice for me after being out of the RC for over 25 years. Marc was the first Hobby shop I called and help me make a good decision after 25 years. Keep up the good videos. ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️🏁🏁
I turned a 2s bls rustler into a semi ultimate. My son beats the crap out of it and he hasn't been able to break it. I also beat the crap out of my Rustler. I would buy one again for that reason. Durability and parts support are top notch.
Man these things have come a long way since I got into RC racing back in 2000… My first RC was the 2wd Rustler, BIG mistake 😂 That thing had crappy electronics and the turning radios was terrible. I took it to my local track and literally got laughed at, lol I bought a Team Associated T3 that same day 😂 These 4wd Rustlers are awesome…Blows my mind how well they handle jump and how tough and fast they are out the box…
@ You could set it up for racing and it would probably do pretty good but I think it’s more of good handling basher. I’d imagine it would last a long time just bashing around the yard etc if that’s what you’re looking for. If you want something to race I’d go with something set up for racing.
This body absolutely pops off just like all the other TRAXXAS car and this is the exact same design as the x maxx maxx they are now going a different way that's not any better and still pops off
@ I mean you can disagree all you want but theirs more then enough video proof out there that they pop off and it's obviously the exact same design they used for a very long time that wasn't working out and that's when they switched with the sledge.... misinformation sucks for new people especially
@@j.hollywood2010 you’re welcome and thank you for being an awesome customer. Really appreciate the support. !! The Raptor R is going to come out awesome!! I’m psyched
The Ultimate is awesome, even the regular VXL is great, I'm a fan of all the Traxxas upgrades!!! quality fit and finish 💯 the Traxxas app is very cool, I wouldn't say the body will never come off the rustler, mine has come off BUT I will say not many times!!! Traxxas ultimates are a money saver if you're into upgrading, much cheaper to buy it done from Traxxas than piece by piece....trust me!!!! lol
Bought this and the slash ultimate not too long ago. Both are awesome out of the box. I do with the Slash came with the chassis brace. Also, the real complaint about the speed telemetry is that you lose it if you want to upgrade to a center diff from the slipper.
@ agreed. At the very least it should come with the plastic one that they make. It makes such a difference in performance. Really allows the car to shine on slippery surfaces
@G8Stroker yeah, i thought so too. And with center diffs there is no way I have found to get the speed telemetry working. With the slipper, it uses a magnet on the motor mount that doesn't trigger with a center. No bigger for me. A center diff is far more important than a speedometer.
Spiral gears are the best. Never had a problem with my Arrma rigs. I cannot get my Kagama 6S dialed in for the life of me. Wish you guys were local. I do all my own wrenching even build a Mega Kraton with a Max 4 Combo. Just can’t get it dialed to my liking.
Shoutout to Threejay301 ! TY for letting us setup you a killer Rustler Ultimate !

Do they make a heatsink fan for the motor ? Thanks

Exact same story. So I'll be satisfied with a rustler ultimate for all around use?

I have never been able to pop off my body on the Rustler. It's actually hard to put on. And I've had some bad crashes.
@ you sure are lucky I've never seen one stay on and yes they suck to get on too
Thanks you to Parkflyers for doing wonderful job on my Ultimate can’t wait for the Raptor video

I like the Rustler; it looks good and super fast fun.
What sells like hotcake in your shop Traxxas or Arrma?
The split is about 70% Traxxas 30% Arrma. Both brands are needed to stay open.

Ty for sharing. Good info
Disappointing the ultimate doesn’t come with the center diff.

isnt there sensor on the spur gear
Just wonderful 😊

Try increasing the center diff fluid. It will prevent the front tires from ballooning.
@ I think I got 30 rear 250 center and 60 front. Thinking about 500k center 40 rear and 80 front. I only own 1/5 scale besides the Kagama.
@ Try 500k in center. It
@@ParkflyersRC Deff going to do that, any suggestions about the front or rear fluids?
I might have missed it... where are you based out of? I'm in Nashville TN I wish I could get an RC community going here... 😢

This would be a deal for under 450.. over 5 might as well get something 6s
U gotta spend over $500 for the car then spend another $70 just for center diff!!?? No thanks nice car but ill stick to arrma and team associated
Thanks for your feedback. We appreciate your input!
@ heck yeah brother lets see more rc bashing vids
My car handles way better with no sway bars 🤷♂️🤷♂️🤷♂️
