I just received my replacement rear fairing for my Inlet. I could not believe that there weren't any instructions included. Thank you for this video. After watching it, I am confident that I can complete the repair.
I purchased 2 Inlet ORU Kayaks from a retailer and both units had the same issues (Stearns and Bows). I only used the kayak 2 times and all four fairings became torn. I contacted the manufacturer and they explained to me that they got a bad batch of defective fairings. Being that I purchased the units through a retailer,, URU wouldn't deal with me direct. Luckly, I purchased the units through a great retailer that supported me on getting the replacement parts (Eco-Fishing, Candenton, MO on line). The replacement parts didn't come with directions, that is how I came to this video. Great job in showing the DIY of the replacement fairings.
Excellent explanation here, You have the same EXACT VOICE as Meredith Marakovits, she is the Female Yankee announcer, look her up and listen to her speak...I mean IDENTICAL voices. Happy Paddling. My Beach LT has yet to arrive, FED EX had to replace the shipping label (UNREADABLE) so it got hung up in Arizona, it is now going to be delivered Sat the 26th as opposed to TODAY, BUMMER.
How old was your Inlet before the fairings cracked? I want to keep an eye on those fairings for evidence of any coming damage. Thanks for the excellent DIY repair video.
Would you still recommend an Oru kayak with the front and back being broken within the first year and a hole in the bottom if I remember correct? I want to purchase one but this kinda scares me off. Should I..? Do you perhaps know of more sturdy foldable kayaks?
@@smkauthor Thanks! Although I still wonder if the other models wouldn’t have the same problems. If it means you would probably have to send it back before the year is done (if they all handle customer service this well) it means after year two you are stuck with a bad kayak (possibly unusable) that only goes downhill from there. Would you consider other brands?
I have considered other brands, and have looked at a lot of options, but still come back to the Oru kayaks. Even with my experience this last year, I still like the kayaks and will probably buy more.

How often do you use your oru? Seems like a lot of problems in the first year. Thanks
