This was the 6th concert of the newly opened Never-Ending Tour: Interstate '88 Tour of North America... and still continues. It was a very eventful year for Dylan: on 28 January he was inducted to Rock & Roll Hall Of Fame in NYC by Bruce Springsteen (on the same ceremony also were inducted The Beatles by Mick Jagger and without Paul McCartney, Beach Boys, The Drifters and The Supremes. In May recorded a song with U2 at A&M Studios in Hollywood 'Hawkmoon 269' (Bono Vox/U2) for 'Rattle And Hum' album. Bono said that it was a tribute to the writer Sam Shepard, who published a book called Hawk Moon and also he said that the band mixed the song 269 times, something that it was confirmed by The Edge years later. Late May '88 it was released Bob Dylan's 25th studio album 'Down In The Groove' with some covers and outtakes and two songs co-written with Grateful Dead's lyricist Robert Hunter. Also in May at Dave Stewart's Studios recorded a debut studio album with Nelson Wilbury (George Harrison), Otis Wilbury (Jeff Lyne), Charlie T. Wilbury (Tom Petty), Lefty Wilbury (Roy Orbison) and Lucky Wilbury as himself so called Travelling Wilburys Vol. 1. ... And still he got time to play around USA and Europe, who gives more ?
Wow❗️ I was at this show at Fiddler’s Green Ampitheatre, the day six tornadoes touched down in Denver (with no major damage or loss of life). With G.E. Smith backing Bob on lead guitar, you could feel the traffic on Highway 61 roaring past from the outset.🌪️🎸

Bob hit a live peak in the late 1980s, his live performances rejuvenated (as told by his own words) from his brief time playing with the Grateful Dead in 1986. GREAT setlist, great concert. "One More Cup Of Coffee" is STUNNING on any numbers of levels. SO GREAT to hear it, anytime/anywhere. A FABULOUS under-the-radar concert is 11July89 in Harrisburg, PA. 😃
BABY BLUE is incredibly powerful here (Denver 1988) Just listened to BABY BLUE Tupelo 1996 which is a different universe. Very introspective. Both arrangements/versions are genius.
The 88 tour.lol.neverending tour was never mentioned until about 91 / 92 or so. What an amazing amount of tracks performed in first few years. Record breaking. This early show is so RAW .GE .Was a great guy to have by your side .Haha. loved those Early (net) shows. Keep on keeping on my friend
