Ok guys so we are getting an AoE 1 remaster which I am really excited about but guys,have you seen the show and did you pay attention to the last 30 seconds of the video?
We technically got our confirmation for an Age of Empires 4.

Having seen the gameplay trailer, how do you feel now?
Personally, I cant wait!
Converts catapult to christianity.
Hits building with a sword, roof starts to burn.
Villager gather berries in the bushes, comes back with a bigass steak.
Fat king outruns cavalry.
Enemy army destroyed own army and runs havoc in base, wins the game because you have 5 crowns in the church.
Catapult fires at enemy units, kills your own units.
A single villager survives, rebuild entire civilization.
Explore the entire map with a sheep.
10 elephants fit in transport ship, 11 archers don't.
Villager hunts deer with a bow, attacks enemy unit with a knife.
Ally is being attacked, better steal their resources.
Use battering rams on farms.
The Japanese, the Celts and the Aztecs are fighting each other, in Central Africa.
Running around the town center while chased by a boar.
Castle almost finished being built, villager killed by a wolf.
Castle is on fire, send one villager to hammer it.
Villager cuts down one tree, lets entire enemy army in.
Look, the enemy is at the gates, ally unit opens the gate.

Enemy monk tries to convert my unit? Better suicide.

Seriously, you're throwing a giant stone/lots of small stones, into a large mosh pit that has your own dudes in there, you're gonna hit and likely kill your friends some point.

I am not a 90' kid,I was bor in 2000,but I remeber when I was 6-7 I played AOE2 all the time.But when I turned 11,I got bored of it,but I discored AOE3,And since then I CANNOT STOP PLAYING IT.Age Of Empires 1-3 are the best games ever
My favorite Theme is Age of Empires 3: The Warchiefs, I really love how the music starts with a very motivated theme and how later sounds a bit sad, it's like how the native americans started with their lifes and the sad part is when they're losing their terrains, houses and families.

Age of Empires 2 was pretty much the very first video game I've ever played and seeing that German menu screen gave me so many flashbacks to my childhood...
And teenage years...
And adult life...
I've played these games my entire life
the creators deserve some recognition, such amazing and history touching theme was required for the game
Fast forward to 2022 and age 2 definitive edition is now an eSport
It took a while but the players finally realised the game's potential and kudos to Microsoft for making a definitive edition that genuinely made the game better
These games are the main reason I was so good at math and history in general.

I always sucked at math.
It's not just calculating resources for getting units and buildings, it's tons of other stuff too. Spirit of the Law's videos go over a ton of math most of the time, such as figuring out that cliffs and elevations give attack buffs by 25% and such.
I'm also inclined to say the game improves multitasking for obvious reasons, haha

Why can't Microsoft bring back Ensemble to make another AoE game.. I loved this franchise. A true current gen version of AoE would be amazing. I know AoE HD is out on Steam and I bought it, but cmon.. a new game with new features would be awesome!

its simple, the last game thet they developed was Halo Wars, they wanted to stay with the bungie story (original halo developers) but microsoft wanted changes, and microsoft is PURE EVIL, so they closed them

it wasn't pay 2 win, all you had to do was pay only 5$ to get the pro civ
and also it didn't suck, it had good balances
E.G Greeks counter egypt, egypt counters celts, celts counter persians, persians counter babylonians, babylonians counter norse, and so on... if you played it for a ''few hours''ofc it sucks,you started at level 1 and got bored quickly and had no friends to play with.

Discovered Age of Empires as a trial game on Microsoft Combat Flight Simulator alongside Motor Rock Madness and Monster Truck Madness 2.
The very first song is the only one I remember, such a great game.

What I love about the mod as a Hungarian, that it uses the word "magyar" which is the Hungarian word for Hungarian :D

Well i found something, that has aged outstandingly good, wasn't ruined by it's developer and with that still enjoyable, while being a part of the earliest years of my childhood.
*THIS* Age of Empires. Something from my childhood, that still isn't ruined! And AoE 2 hits the 20-year-anniversary this year. 20 Years and this game is still kicking, even on the Steam Charts on rank 46 of the most played games. Words can't describe this.

Technically the AoE2 theme was in and of itself a remix of the background music to one of the cutscenes (if you can call them that, in all their 1998 glory) in AoE1. Clearly Ensemble liked that one enough to make it the theme tune for the entire series.

@@canaldamia8393 No, you can't hear it here, but if you look up the Babylon cutscene from AoE1, you'll notice it's the same music, just with a slightly different end.
Unfortunately the Babylon cutscene doesn't appear to be anywhere on TH-cam separately, but if you look up the video "Age of Empires - All Cutscenes", it's at 1:13 in that video.
