Thanks for the heads up! I'll be doing a follow-up when Princess finally releases something else new on the ship and I'll ensure it's a bit more balanced. Thanks for watching!
great video and information, beside that i'm happy that Italy is the last stronghold in building ships, even stronger as we Germans! all other western countries have moved their productions to Asia, thankfully the two biggest, S. Korea and Japan, have good ties with Europe and America!
We just need Princess to "loosen their lips" a little bit and let us preview it for you. Princess... if you are listening.... ;) Have a great time and do come back and let us know.
Is this a test or is it already the first trip? I saw the Princess at the shipyard in Monfalcone, I think it was 2017/18. Even if we were safely over 200 meters away, it was still an impressive ship. I will surely book a travel!
I'll admit... I'm jealous! I don't know you :) but I can't see how you'd be disappointed. I would say to pack your patience as well, it's brand new and they'll still be working the kinks out I'm sure. I'd love to hear back from you after your cruise with an update! Andrew
@@TidalHorizons I'm generally a chill person, so the little problems at the start shouldn't be a problem for me. In general I cruise with Costa and as the style (European vs American) is not the same I was wondering if I would enjoy Princess.
I think if you've cruised with Costa, you'll be fine on Princess. I actually spent 45 days on Princess ships in the fall with my wife and three kids (probably a video coming about that!). What I've found is that sailing in Europe, you'll have more of a European flavor than if you were sailing in the Caribbean, there are definite differences in the food especially. You'll probably find quite a few people from the UK onboard as well. Have a wonderful voyage!
Yes, definitely some audio issues in this version, wish TH-cam allowed greater latitude for edits. I did an updated version with additional information here: th-cam.com/video/tUWCHn678Xo/w-d-xo.html Ended up dropping the music completely. Thanks for the comment.
No, there hasn't been anything released about the Butcher's Block since October. The only thing I can find more recently is a reference to it when talking about "High Seas with Goodstock" on the Regal Princess. That calls Butcher's Block ""the new specialty impromptu bistro" like the original press release. My guess is that it will be held in the World Fresh Marketplace on select nights. That's strictly speculation though.
Thanks Sherry, I'm starting to wonder if my hearing isn't what it used to be! If I give you a preview link to a new video, would you give it a watch and give me your opinion on the volume?
It looks promising but I hope Princess doesn't go for the Celebrity Edge/NCL Prima dull neutral palette on their new ships. The atrium area looks pretty colorless to me. The Dome concerns me because glass usually brings poor acoustics and the sound quality in that arena may be compromised. A lot of the ship's reimaginging looks functional and Princess doesn't look like they're going away from their usual spaces. Some added family stuff is fine and not over the top, hopefully.
It's funny you say that about the colours, in the fall we did a back to back that was coming off Island Princess on immediately onto Enchanted Princess. I remember being put off a bit by the "beigeness" of the Enchanted having stepped off one of the older ships in the fleet and onto the newest, but it was only a passing thought. I suspect it will be similar on Sun. I think the Dome and Arena will be fine for acoustics (former life in theatre etc.). Modern sound systems are more directional than they were even 15 years ago, so they can really fine tune things almost seat by seat. I'm going to be very curious about the different configurations of the Arena and what that does to productions people typically associate with cruises. Usual spaces are there, but I'm not used to the move of World Marketplace onto a lower deck, it will be interesting to see how that looks. Have a great day and thanks for watching!
Princess just cancelled the second cruise on short notice. This was going to be my first Princess cruise but now it's my last. I will never sail on Princess.
So sorry! What an absolute nightmare for passengers and an awful PR situation. Perhaps time for Princess to find a new ship builder. In the most recent version of this video, I wondered about this cruise but being so close I really would have thought it would go ahead.
Thank you for the information. One suggestion, bring the volume of the background music down a bit, it is actually louder than your narrative.

I'm going to be on the Feb 28th sailing out of Civitavecchia and will let you know how it goes! I can't wait for more of your updates as well.

Wow Beautiful 😍
I'm boarding on February 18, this will be my first cruise with Princess, so I hope I won't be disappointed.

@@TidalHorizons Thank you for the information, anyway I'm sure all will be ok because at the end its a vacation.
Maybe try turning your music down by at least half it is so loud

Do you know anything about the new Speciality Dining venue called Butchers Block???

Love the updates but please lower the music volume next time

Same old, same old.
Very, very POOR resolution!!!!!!!
Rendering error, I'm working on an update that will have more content and in HD (of course!) Thanks for the comment.
@@TidalHorizons OK. Thanks for that info.
