I'm a Real Madrid fan living in south Korea, and I feel like there's a misunderstanding about the recent incident involving the referee. At first, he blew the whistle, but then he put it back in his mouth when it seemed like Real Madrid was about to cross. It's absurd. Even Benzema protested, but what he does is considered romantic, while what Benzema does is seen as scandalous, resulting in us losing two points and Benzema missing the next game. The referee from the Valencia match before was permanently banned for making racist remarks, along with the VAR officials who supported him. By acknowledging that, they could have restored the honor of La Liga referees, but now they've missed the chance. Although racism exists in other leagues, seeing such incidents happen in two consecutive Valencia matches is unprecedented. It's bitter because it reveals how prevalent racism is in Spain to the rest of the world. Why should football fans worldwide be angry because of racists? Is this a football match or a political game? It's hard to distinguish. Racist referees are disgracing Spain. This is a problem that cannot be overlooked. Even though Valencia punished their club and racist fans last time, it's happening again. If we just let it slide, they'll keep causing trouble.

The craziest part about this whole situation at the end, is the fact that the referee puts the whistle in his mouth and then takes it out again only to then VERY QUICKLY put it back in and blow IMMEDIATELY when Brahim starts to turn his body for the cross.

For anyone who didn't watch the game, there was a 2:30 min var review at the beginning of added on time. I've literally never see the ref blow off a game while a chance in being created that near to the opponent's box. La liga is a joke

To sum up what happened: the referee was under pressure from the Valencia player who screamed at him to blow the whistle. He did so even though the Madrid was in a clear attacking situation. The VAR took about 2 to 3 minutes to check a schwalbe from the Valencia player which meant that Madrid should've gotten the time to finish the attack by Brahim towards Bellingham. In the end, you even see the Valencia defender screaming because he witnessed the goal and thought they lost the game. You can see him hesitate to blow the whistle the first time then when Brahim touches the ball for the cross, he whistles thus blowing the whistle during an active attack (not before or after the cross).
Check the rules mate, the ref can stop the match at any time he deems fit after full time and stoppage time is up. Doesn't matter if the ball is literally about to cross the goal line, if the ref blows the whistle, the match is over. No amount of crying to LALIGA or UEFA is going to overturn this result.

For those who are confused about the argument over the added time, there was a challenge at 90min25sec that went into a VAR check until 92min33sec (so roughly 2 minutes). You can see also the time on this highlight video.
