It upsets me that these sorts of things have to be said. My great grand uncle had seen first hand what happened in these concentration camps while he helped liberate eastern Europe, he died when I was very little. But he told me and my siblings from a very young age the evil made possible by those running those camps.

He is very right. Visited Buchenwald in 2018, one of the first and the largest of the concentration camps within Germany's 1937 borders. Sometimes you are trying to learn / understand/ comprehend and other times you just feel the shock. For me it was walking into the crematorium room with the ovens. Or the “height measuring station” adjacent, which had a hidden executioner’s cupboard behind it allowing a pistol to fire at the back of the victim’s head. Those condemned (often Russian POW) would be taken great distance from the front, feed minimally, unloaded, then undressed , weighed, details recorded and finally, measured. I refused to enter the cupboard. We had planned to visit another but one was all you need to understand state sanctioned evil.

Good educational video. I didn't know that there was a concentration camp near Hamburg.
I also appreciated the serious and sympathetic tone of the video. It was sensitive to make the video when the camp is not hosting visitors. Historical sites like this are really important so that we say never again will we have active camps like these.
