Strike from the sky, brothers! - ShackTac Arma 2

- เผยแพร่เมื่อ 9 พ.ค. 2013
- Pulled from the 'Fire from the Sky' video ( • Fire from the Sky - Sh... ), this is pretty much the sweetest CAS you will likely ever see in Arma2. I've created this as a standalone video due to repeated requests in the original. If you like this stuff, as always, show the love through comments, likes, favorites, subscriptions, etc. Feed the machine. Use AdBlock? Take a look at this: blog.chkilroy.com/post/3691867...
The mission shown is a coop (vs AI) on the Celle 2 terrain.
Q: What server am I playing Arma games on, who are these people, and can you join?
A: It's the private server for my community, Shack Tactical. As of 2014 we've been around for eight years, and I wouldn't trade it for anything - we have a fantastic memberbase and it makes for amazing gameplay in Arma and elsewhere. You can read more about us here: www.shacktac.com
Q: What mods does ShackTac use in Arma?
A: I keep a list of them here: dslyecxi.com/shacktac_wp/shack...
Q: Does ShackTac play mostly coop or mostly PvP/adversarial in Arma?
A: We do a mix of about 70% adversarial and 30% coop - both offer unique experiences and are a blast to play.
Q: How long have you been playing the Arma series?
A: I've been here from the start, with my Operation Flashpoint experience beginning with the demo's release in 2001. I went into the US Marine Corps shortly after (no relation!) and in 2004 I started playing OFP in multiplayer. 2006 saw me found ShackTac, which started in OFP and then transitioned through Arma 1, Arma 2, and finally, Arma 3. I hope to continue this for a long time into the future, as well as share the ride with viewers like you, as corny as that sounds!
Q: What system am I filming all of my Arma and VBS footage on?
A: dslyecxi.com/about-me/computer/

Q: I have a question about your channel or content that I haven't seen answered elsewhere - what's the best way to ask it?
A: I maintain a blog where I've answered hundreds of different questions relating to ShackTac, Arma, etc - you can find that here:
blog.dslyecxi.com
I also answer questions in my comments routinely, as I enjoy that aspect of things. If I don't answer, please don't take it personally - there's a lot going on and I can't always get to everything. My channel followers do a good job of answering the more common questions, too, and I thank them for that!

It's been more than two years and this is /still/ the best video you've put out, I think.
It's been so long and I have to rewatch this.
Angel 2: I'm going down!
The Whole Friendly Aircraft: *Eyes Glow Intensify*
"Don't like the sound of that 'oh shit' sir!" LOL
Still as epic as ever even 3 years later.
fire from the sky has to be easily one of the best video game footage captures of any game ever...amazing
That was some beautiful air support there. Worthy of "Ride of the Valkyries".
It must be amazing for people from Bohemia Interactive to see this. Building the tools then seeing your community push them as far as possible. What you do is pretty incredible.
Having played so much Wargame I was honestly waiting for the MiG-29 or the Su-27 to just come out of nowhere and either blast that A-10 or blast that Apache.
ALWAYS HAPPENS
That is the exact reason every helo gets anOH-56 (or was it 58) as an escort. 60pt helo vs 180 pt ASF FTW.
never get tired of watching this bit ;)
The maniac laughter as the gunship flew by gave me chills, this looks amazing... and the fact you survived to watch it at such a close range was amazing, you must have had a smile on your face throughout.
10 years later and it's still one of the most bad ass things I've seen in gaming hands down
I just watched this vid the other day, and I had to go back to this part several times it was so great. Watching just this clip now, is awesome. Keep up the great vids man!
So glad you split this out of an already brilliant video ! Just listening to you enjoy yourself and then seeing fellow players come to your aid... That's what its all about !
Quality. Sheer quality in a clip. One the most amazing clips I've seen for ArmA II. Amazing, Dslyexci. Keep these Shack Tactical sessions coming. They're never a disappointment to watch.
Definitely one of the most exciting moments I've seen in one of your shacktac vids. Fire from the Sky is easily a firm favorite now.
I remember watching this when you first uploaded it. definitely an iconic moment for shacktac in my eyes
Love that the moment you're down everyone comes flying in to your rescue. That's a great team you got there for sure.
Thanks for uploading this. This is probably one of the most epic gameplay moments I've ever seen.
I watched the full video a while ago. This was an amazing moment. Was worth the lead up. So envious. I would apply to the group if I felt I had the time to dedicate to it.
I can watch this (and the full one) over and over again and don't ever get tired of this scene. Hollywood couldn't make something this epic even if they tried.
4 years later and this is one of the most memorable missions to watch!! This scene is incredible!
so glad you made this part into a small clip.
its super epic from down there!
Thanks Dslyecxi for Uploading this part instead of watching that whole part again :) One of my favorite Videos you have made.
These vids just keep getting better and better. Always looking forward more to the next trip out. Epic once again.
This video pretty much demonstrates the result of putting the time in to build a group and learn to play together in Arma. It takes work, its takes time, it takes dedication and patience. You can get a lot of fun up front with many games without too much effort, but nothing you do in those games will compare to those perfect moments that come once in a while in Arma.
I've watching this clip a couple of times now but you my friend, you just took it to a whole now level.
I salute you!
I can't not have a giant grin on my face every time I watch this; and between the original video and this, it's been about 25 times.
Just love your manic laughter during the lightshow, sad that i'll never experience stuff like that, but keep going with these videos!
your giddy maniacal laughter during the whole situation says it all.
I'm so glad you left that last bit of comms in there, priceless.
''This is pretty much the sweetest CAS you will likely ever see in Arma2'', is a understatement. Thank you Shacktac! Thank you Dslyecxi! Biggest thumb's up!
...a Turbothumb!!
That manic laugh while on the ground in the middle of it all.......priceless lol.
aw fucking, fuck yes man. I've been following for a while, and I was sad to see that the last video was over an hour long, watching on a kindle causes massive quality loss on such videos son I am so happy to see this. Just earned yourself a new subscriber!
Best part of the video!!! When I first saw this on the fire in the sky video I was blown away!! Awesome video!! I was Entertained
one of the greatest ShackTac moments i have ever seen, awesome work sir
That was, by far, the coolest arma-vid I have seen... ever.
I watched the full video a while ago, I was on the edge of my seat the entire time, cursing with you when RPGs whizzed by and laughing hysterically with you when this epic shit went down.
Freaking awesome! One of the best Arma videos ever. Geez, if I didn't already have the game, I'd buy it now!
the most exciting clip from any shooter game i have ever seen.
This is the type of moment everybody hopes to witness, but so few get to
Thanks again for this, saw it in the main video but it's worth seeing at least another 99 times I think
Got at least another 80 views of this to look forwards to
Jesus Christ! It's moments like this that make me question why I ever moved over to console gaming. ArmA2 is epic!
Epic skills as always, Dslyecxi!
This still holds up as one of the sexiest things I've ever seen from ShackTac.
Wow. The sound of that A-10 Warthog at 1:37 is terrifying and awesome at the same time.
This segment is even better if you watch the full vid up to it. Dyslexci's repeated calls for CAS on the tanks, how close the infantry are, how how the air support keeps bieng re tasked or is otherwise unavalible. Then, at the darkest moment, in come the birds we love. Perfect payoff.
It's called everyone playing their role. Dyslecxi was providing a bit of CAS on soft targets in the fringes with his Little Bird while the Hog and Apache were inbound to go after the tanks. As luck would have it (HA!), he was shot down right in the middle of the shit, just in time for the Apache and Hog to roll in. As I said in another posting, it's pure emergent gameplay at it's finest.
Can't wait to see this clip in the Shacktac 2013 Year in Review
You cannot script situations like this! That was amazing!
That nervous delay just before he says it makes it even funnier. :D
Saw this in the other video, was showing my mates this amazing support by the havoc, now i can share it easier! :D
Dslyecxi sounded like a mad man with his laugh when he got that help from the apache. He'd make the perfect mad scientist.
this make me think of broken arrow from we were soldiers
Seriously. All the flares and fire during the night will look amazing.
A spontanious masterpiece , unforgetable !
I've watched the mission and this was the most intense minute, what a show :D
this should be elected as the most epic video in Arma
I have no words for how awesome this looks.
I cannot wait for the ARMA 3 vids you guys will make
That A-10 strafe brought a tear to my eye. :P
You should watch the full video. Quite a few moments when he gets caught up in the drama. It was awesome to watch.
God damn, what a way to put you on the edge of your seat couldn't imagine how it would feel to actually play that scene out :P
Im new to the Arma series and that is the sickest thing i have ever seen in a video game !
You sounded insane with your hysterical laughter while you were repairing on the ground. Think you should be wearing one of those hard lower face protection pieces US helo pilots wear these days (ref. the pic Chief had after your interview) painted with a lower skull. It fits your wildly aggressive yet precise flying style.in game. No one should ever miss one of your chopper videos.
best arma video i have seen in all my years
So good I have to comment twice, Great scene man. Enjoyed the full version just as much
I don't know why but this is one of my favorite videos
Epic moment
Also, I'm loving the radiochatter at the end.
"I don't like the sound of that 'oh shit' sir"
Awesomeness brought to a new level
That was epic O.o No other game could produce such tension and excitement.
Dslyecxi's laugh when the Harrier makes its pass is awesome.
The maniacal laughter of disbelief really puts it all together.
Not sure what you're saying here. Of course they did. He landed in the middle of a combat zone, surrounded by Armor that was a threat to him, as well as everyone else moving into the Area, so of course we moved in and engaged them. We never "stopped what we were doing" to go help, as was previously implied. We kept doing what we would have done anyways, the bonus was that we got to protect one of our own in the process and in the end it turned out pretty bad ass for everyone :P
I love it when moments like this happen.
You have an amazing knack for not dieing.
I just sat here with the cheekiest grin on my face hahaha. Damn that was awesome!
I saw the whole video and that was by far the best and most intense mission I've ever seen In ARMA, especially this moment right here. Fucking Love It Bro.
that was hectic and your maniacal laugh was soo funny
There's actually a moment like that in one of CHKilroy's videos. It's called "*Something* Pipe Organ," and it's so goddamn intense.
Seriously, ShackTac is the place to go.
Best 4 mins of arma EVER
It's actually a mechanic that's included in the ACE mod that ShackTac uses. You can find ACE and other excellent mods from the ARMA community over at the Armaholic site.
You could not have even had something that epic planned.
Never gets old. And never will.
1:20-2:10 Well that certainly illustrates the diversity of the word...
Love this shit man, nowadays i just watch ur sessions instead of a movie before i go to bed.
That was the craziest CAS I've ever seen
I was expecting orbital bombardments, drop pods and thunderhawk gunships, while I didn't get what I wanted - this was just as good!
Wow, that was some real good gameplay you got there! :)
THIS is why I LOVE the ARMA series!
Accidental front row seat to a combined arms fireworks display!
I had a moment almost like this in Operation Flashpoint: Elite. A buddy was prone hiding from a couple of searching BMPs that were within 20-100 meters. I rolled in with a Cobra and shattered my windscreen wide open on either the first or second pass. 2 BMPs toasted and buddy said I saved his arse.
You know it's good when Dyslecxi whips out the crazy laugh.
Let me tell ya that CAS was extremely accurate, props to the Apache Pilots and The A-10 guy very well done if you know them send them my regards
god this makes me actually want to play this game. that was awesome!
This clip made it worth going to work with the same eyes after watching the original.
one of the greatest arma 3 moments for sure even after years :D
Aesisify well Arma 2 but you aren't wrong
Christ, it's like a goddamn Reaper just showed up when that Gau-8 went off.
I was so hoping to hear Dslyecxi actually yell in a mock 40K marine voice "Strike from the sky, Brothers!"
You won a suscriber in "Fire from the Sky" just with this scene !
pure visceral joy.
THIS is exactly why I love the arma series...
That was a entire new level of badassery.
