Man I was hoping Samson win it!! Dam!! He had it!! He was much tighter and harder the 2nd half (Saturday Night). My only takeaway was his side abs. Once he improve on the abs, GAME OVER!!! Congratulations Samson.

What were you watching. He deseved 3rd. He lacked the conditioning, his back was not as wide as the other two, and just was too soft compared to the other two, but that’s something that he can improve and one he does we might have a new Mr. Olympia

6th to 3rd is massive. He comes in peeled next year it's going to be very hard for the judges to ignore him. He has everything to start a 4 - 5yr domination at the Olympia

The two looked dwarfed when Samson stood in the middle. The symmetry reminds of Haney but bigger. In my eyes, he's the champ!
Unfortunately it’s not all about size. Conditioning is a huge factor and unfortunately his conditioning is lacking. He’s too soft and just doesn’t have the muscles separation and feathering as the other two

Massive, yet still the most narrow when it comes to lats and back. Also the least conditioned. Not as much separation and Striations of the muscles and that is a HUGE difference, but good news is he can work on that

My eyes were constantly drawn to Samson when the top 3 were compared. With that flow, structure, musclemass and beter conditioning, he will be simply undeniable for the O title.

You don’t know how to judge then. Samson was the least conditioned and also the least wide when it comes to lats and back. You can see he doesn’t have the conditioning as the other two. This muscle separations lacks compared to the other two and that is what caused him to not win

Samson will never say this so I'll say this as a nobody fan: the man got robbed. Pure and simple. He was by far the biggest man on stage. Derek and Hadi are shaped like boxes. Samson has the ideal physique and has no weaknesses. So he was the biggest, most muscular, best symmetry, no weaknesses. Just like what Milos said. Maybe I'm too old school. I'm not a judge and have no idea what they are seeing. But Samson was heads and shoulders the winner in my book. Keep working man. 3rd in the world is special. But you deserve to be best. You'll get it.

from what i see here, i know i'm late to comment on it, he should pay attention to his belly and work on his glutes. if he can get that right, i don't see how he will not win in the near future. i see in the comments that his back could be better but honestly, i think it's very good! for me, a flatter belly + more striation in the glutes and he'll win! he has such a frame and proportions. he's really close to get it.
Samsons calves looked huge and ripped compared to the other 2 in the final 3! Very unlucky not to win it..

I think an unwritten judging criteria is attitude and how they will represent the sport. Hadi's attitude and how he represented & marketed the sport of bodybuilding was not very good. Although Lunsford probably should have been 2nd - he will help bodybuilding much better than Hadi ever did. (edit: Samson seems like a good guy - he will help bodybuilding a lot too)

Samson is great...But, you can see that he does not have the definition and separation to win...5-10% more, that's it...you can do this...Samson has the best shape and size, just have to dial it in a little more!
