Reminds me of a time I had to rebuild a cracked concrete footer of a house. We found it was half full of crushed Budweiser cans and McDonald's wrappers 😶. Nothing like a clean slate though. Aloha 🤙
Thank you! I will be following on your steps, from this vid, and the next, on my 1990 com-pac 16/3 - other than bottom paint, that's the only fix I need to do.
when you bought it you looked at everything that needs fixing feared the worst and hoped for the best ,you can do the work no problems,, best way to deal with it is tell yourself its your hobby its fun fixing boats,, its why you buy them which is true
It definitely is my hobby and I do enjoy it but sometimes I do get burned out Then I just go work on another boat doing something different for a day or two I usually have 2 or 3 project boats at some stage of repair Thanks for watching!
Well first off, the Com-Pac 16 is a fun boat that sails well. It is easy to trailer, rig and launch and feels like a bigger boat than it is. At 16’ the cabin is a bit tight as you would expect Ad far as the perfect boat, well as you know a boat is a compromise and I am still looking I have owned a 30’ Ranger that was very nice but it had a 5’ draft so it limited me in the areas I sail in and was a bit much to single hand now that I am getting older. I actually like a shoal draft in the 22’ to 25’ range The Com-Pac 23 checks most of the boxes and is a really great boat
I owned one once They are a very nice lake boat A ton of them were built so they are lots of them around Mine had the pop top and it was more trouble than it was worth but had a nice cabin layout Kind if a lightweight boat though
Keep posting! I really enjoy watching your videos and find them very instructional.
Thanks!

that's funny. never know what you might find
Excellent video. Good to see how you addressed a previous owner's botched repair, which many of us face when we buy older boats.
You never know what you will find for sure
Thanks for watching

I think that it would be a delight to work with you. Are you in North Carolina?
Yes in Sanford NC
I only work on my own boats and then eventually sell them
This is just a hobby
I am still looking for the perfect boat lol
@@theboatnik1328 How big of a boat are you thinking about? Someday I want you to tell me about sailing the Compac 16.
