I don't agree with what she said about women being competitive and mean to each other not having anything to do with men. First of all I am not like that, I do not devalue other women in order to feel good about myself. And second I think that the women who do that do it based on what society has taught us that women should be like, they critisize and devalue other women based on the fact that the patriarchal society has taught us to devalue women in general, in any way possible. So YES I think that men play a huge part in that and if a woman is insecure and thinks that a man would not prefer her over others and that she is not very special, then she devalues other women. SO YES I think that it is 100% based on the patriarchal society and the way that it devalued women for centuries, that is why those women are SO insecure. And that is why they feel so comfortable to devalue other women, it is socially acceptable and even encouraged by the men around them, who also devalue women.
