    I'm subscribing to your channel for two reasons:
    1: you don't see too many other women who do these videos, and being a woman and Gen 1 Raptor owner myself, I feel it my duty to support all the Raptor loving ladies out there, but special props to the driving ladies out there, and the dudes who support them.
    2: I always support the Raptor channels I find.
    I'm from Kentucky, so it is too far for me to ever join one of these groups, but I can live vicariously through your videos.

      Hi Gwendolyn! Thank you for the support! Maybe one day we can off road together somewhere 😆I don’t have the truck anymore but still have a good off road vehicle. The truck gave me soooo many issues. I was able to enjoy it for 3 months and then it spent a year at different shops. The transmission was replaced several times. It wasn’t fun being stranded off the highway multiple times but the worst part was dealing with Ford and their customer service. I had a terrible experience at all 6 dealers 😫
      it was such a beautiful and fun truck, unfortunate that our relationship didn’t last 😩

      @@BetsyKarr I'm so sorry that you had so many issues. These trucks, when bought new, are full of more bells and whistles than the Gen 1 models. Mine is the 6.2 V8 so that is why I don't take it on trips, it gets about 14.7 to14.9 mpgs depending on the distance and town versus highway, and 500 miles to a tank. My dealership that I purchased from was Pinnacle Ford in Nicholasville Kentucky. They are the top guys when it comes to both customer service and satisfaction for getting anything done in my humble opinion. Highly recommend them if you are ever in the area.
      I drive OTR so I'm basically in for a week at a time during a month. 3 weeks on and one off. It is still a lot of fun after 10 years. But it doesn't afford me much free time for anything else. If you are ever going to be in the area of Kentucky let me know. I belong to a group called Raptor Forumz, they have members from all places around the world. Great group. Of course we can't forget Uncle Jake, who also unfortunately is having some issues with his transmission as well. He does his own repairs though, and posts on TH-cam under the handle "Motors and Mischief"
      I will still support your channel regardless of what you drive though. Thanks again for sharing your experience with us who can't make the journey. It really looks like fun.
      Don't feel too bad though about your situation, the original Raptor that ran the Baja 1000 finished 3rd place. That's pretty good, considering that most don't even make it through the entire course, much less to actually finish it.

      @@RavancheII Thank you! I do cross country road trips about once a year and was last in Kentucky in 2019 so I'll be back 🙂
      A lot of people with Gen have expressed the same sentiment, they absolutely love it and it has been reliable and good to the,. Gen 2 on the other hand, the few friends that have one have also had issues.
      There was a dealer about 25 miles from me that had exceptional ratings and people recommended I go there. The problem was that the truck broke down and I'd get towed to the nearest dealership, I didn't have an option. One time it broke down in Las vegas while I was there for a work conference, and another time I was 2 hours away from home. The other 4 times, I was 5-20 miles from home and didn't get to pick of where to get towed to.
      Alas, it was fun while it lasted.

    • @RavancheII
      @RavancheII 2 ปีที่แล้ว

      @@BetsyKarr I can totally understand that one. My neighbor and I drive together as a team, and if we break down we don't always have the option of choices where we get towed to, all we know is it will definitely be a Freightliner dealer/service center or a TA/Petro.
      You have an open invite to stop in anytime you are in the area of Kentucky next time. I will even let you drive my Raptor if you would like. It is so smooth on the road. It has the factory tires that came on it. I've got a few mods but nothing major. Things like tow lights, and a Tonneau cover, a battery maintainer/ desulfater. I want to do some interior lights around the footwells in blue. I've got the infotainment console in the dash too.

    So did you decide to keep your Raptor or get a new one? This Run looked so much fun! I'm going to go to their page and see when the next one is. Everyone seems to be really awesome and friendly and simply out for a good time with good people!

      Michael Angelo it was so much fun! This is why I got the Raptor. The Raptor community is awesome, I’ve met nothing but nice people. Everyone I’ve met is very knowledgeable and welcoming. This run was several months back and I continue to have problems with the truck. Looking at this footage made me want to keep it but then I remember what I’ve been through trying to get it fixed and the desire went away real quick.

      Betsy Karr Hiking ugh! I completely understand! Problems on top of problems, especially when they don't go away can take a serious toll and spiritually too! I've heard that Ford's plans for 2021 is going to be game changing. Can't wait for their F-150 updates.

    Sorry for the problems with your raptor. I was in the market for a 2020 raptor.
    After seeing the problems you had and other people have me afraid to buy one. I love the looks, the speed, but the reliability, is a concern.

    Wow two broken Raptors 🤦‍♂️ are they not that reliable?

    • @BetsyKarr
      @BetsyKarr  4 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Based on my personal experience, not at all reliable. I don't know what happened to the first truck but the second got a flat tire.

      @DUNEBASHING 4 ปีที่แล้ว

      @@BetsyKarr yeah I also heard they are having problems running high boost for long periods of time and it's a turbo truck stock you would think that would be fine.

    • @RavancheII

      Depends on how people treat them. My Gen 1 Raptor is a 2010 and I am the third owner, and so far so good for me. I live in the country so it sees plenty of "off roading" just simply going down my driveway 😁
      I got this particular truck because it is my dream truck, and I figured why buy a regular F 150 when I can have "The Beef"
      I am extremely happy with my truck. It is all stock but someone changed the shocks from the FOX SVT to the ICON. They are a great product for anyone considering a replacement shock for their trucks. And I'm not just saying that because I subscribe to the ICON channel. I wouldn't vouch for a product I did not believe in.

      @@BetsyKarr sounds like either a bad rim, or a bad tire. Sometimes the tire doesn't seat well to the rim. But I've noticed that some people run those rims with bead lock capability. Highly recommended for those more hard core off road experiences.

    So lets get this straight coz i thought you are over the whole Raptor experience. If you are doing a run like this i think you shouldn't give up on your Raptor or consider getting another if it all works out for you. What imput did this group give you. Im sure they have seen your channel.

    • @BetsyKarr
      @BetsyKarr  4 ปีที่แล้ว

      Hi David! This run was a few months ago. I squeezed in something fun in between the time I was eating to take in the truck back to the service dealer.The the third and forth time my Raptor broke down was after this. Looking at this footage made me want to keep it but then I thought of everything that has happened and I rather have a vehicle that’s reliable. I did consider getting another Raptor. The possibility of getting 2 lemons is unlikely. However, thinking of what I have to go through when there’s a problem with the truck made me decide against getting another Ford. I love the Raptor community, the community is one of the reasons I wanted this truck. Everyone I’ve met has been super nice. I didn’t tell this group of my issues, it was a fun day and I didn’t want to ruin it. I feel proud that it didn’t break on me while here 😆
