This babi guling whole roasted pig is a traditional Balinese dish that you mustn’t miss when on an Indonesian street food tour in Bali, Indonesia. The crispy pork meat on the babi guling is so crunchy, and the pork belly meat is juicy and succulent, truly a pork feast!
To balance out the spicy we went for something sweet, tasting the street food laklak. Balinese food can be extremely spicy, so next up on our Indonesian street food tour was to taste ayam betutu. This flavorful and super spicy dish is a popular Indonesian food, especially in Bali.

Oh, wow! That Babi Guling was illegal! You definitely made our mouth water. Can’t wait to go to Bali for that. Ayam Betutu looked super spicy and Chris handled it like a pro 🔥😁
Thanks a lot for sharing your food adventures with us ❤
The babi guling was definitely illegal 🤤 we'll have to enjoy some together sometime ;) the ayam betutu was something else, a whole other level of spicy 🌶🔥 But you know what they say, no spicy no party 😜 Thanks for your support guys!
Very glad that you managed to try local Balinese food. Many foreigners go to Bali and think nasi goreng and mi goreng are local food. I mean, they are, these common Indonesian dishes are of course local to Bali as well. But each region in Indonesia has its own cuisine and tradition.
You're so right, there are so many unique dishes to try in every region of the country, it would take a lifetime to explore! Bali has some incredibly tasty and spicy dishes! We enjoyed them so much. Thanks so much for your comment and for watching😊
Steph’s wild bun is making my day!
🤣🤣💁♀️
Hello there! 😊
I had to say that Chris saying "really cool, hotter, and súper cool" all in one context made real sense in describing how a spit-roasted pig is made. You know when you know. 😂
It was interesting how it seems that all parts, nose to tail and everything in between of the pig, was used. Nothing goes to waste.
I also loved seeing how the traditional pancakes were cooked and the varied sauces for the meat skewers.
Some will probably argue about the sustainability and ecological consequences of burning wood and charcoal for cooking. I personally think they have a point, but efficient use of these for cooking actually imparts an irreplaceable savoriness to dishes. That's just my opinion.
This is another fun episode, thanks for sharing, guys. See you next meal. ✨️😊🫶🏻
Hey Cris! It was very interesting to see how the babi guling was prepared and cooked. We always love when places use every part of the animal. It just shows the versatility but also it's so wonderful when nothing goes to waste, we totally agree. Bali is a food paradise 😋🤤 thanks for watching and commenting, as always!
