@@KBowWow75 it's prob because there are so many cameras in there with new AI tech that it is too hot to do so... plus if we ar being honest they don't want to steal most of the items from an Amazon store as they are too healthy. lol

it's only prone to robbery in a society that's controlled by scarcity. ALSO that place is flooded with cameras once you leave out they can just track you down.

I hate this. I have no credit card and as a tourist I pay directly. If it works with T money card it would be okay. But otherwise it would be a discrimination. And as a tourist I would not connect my bank account to a local app.
When traveling in China I made the experience without WeChat, an ID and Chinese Phone number I even couldn't watch a Jackie Chan film in my hotel room. And buying a ticket for cinema was also not possible. As a tourist I would not travel to a country where everything is restricted to users of local apps. So I never will go to China again because of this.

Once the cost of this system comes down I hope it will help store owners so they don't have to work all day and night. On the other hand its impact on part time jobs could be an issue🤔 Nevertheless, I'm glad Kim Hyunsoo is back!🥰 Please offer her a permanent position on the Korea Now/Yonhap staff🥺

It's not really AI. It's a bunch of sensors on the ceiling and Amazon has done this since at least 2019 in America via Amazon Go. I don't know why the term 'AI' needs to be applied so liberally...

Amazon Go started this in 2017. They use it in stadiums and arenas in Seattle too. Amazon is doing this in other cities too. It's a little skeptical in Asia though since the CCP uses this technology to watch their citizens amd grade them with a social credit score.
