Hell yeah. I would love to see a follow-up year after that as well. I think we all agree that Arcus should hold all three NES records. And he definitely has the talent for it
@@HoganLegDropSoup Oh for sure. I really enjoy the speedrunning scene, and Arcus' dominance at Ninja Gaiden 1 might be the greatest speedrunning streak ever. I mean how many records in a row even was it?!
@@TheLastWanderingBard Youre welcome :D Every now and then I go to Speedrun dot com (would do the normal address, but TH-cam is fickle when it comes to posting links) to check on things. Was surprised to find that someone had gotten that close to Arcus. Im sure Arcus is aware, hes just doing other things. We shall see if he goes back to NJ in the future :D
Arcus is like that super patient uncle who teaches you how to play a game while showing you all the tiny secrets and amazing tricks he has learned while playing. Keep it going, dude! You're a fantastic speedrunner and a great guy all around!
And Castlevania, Megaman series. I was just thinking while watching this, how I as a child, played castlevania, contra, ninja gaiden games on nes. Known to be one of the most difficult games and I beat them back in the day.
Congratulations on the run. You are such a fun streamer to watch and I typically don't even watch streamers. Your overall positive attitude and the completely non toxic environment from your Twitch streams is unparalleled. Keep doing what you do. You are awesome.
You are amazing, Arcus!! Your ability to maximize space and take hits that give you an advantage are unlike anything I've ever seen in gaming. Keep up the great work man!
@@robkrieg8301 You might be right, but I’m not sure about that either. Jimmypoopins, who was the record holder as of a couple months ago, is trying to get the record back currently. And I’m not saying the record is unbeatable. But saying “the WR is yours in no time is a bit overconfident.” That’s all
@Sharmat-Dra look at his runs the last month alone he's shaved seconds off pretty consistently he has 2 pb's the last couple weeks that took multiples seconds off so i dont see any reason not to think he can do it and its fun to cheer the guy on he's a likable guy.
Great run! Where do the last 8 seconds come from? Also, wtf is the plot of this game? Haha. Are you in Hell in Act 4? Big fan of yours for a long time. You're a treat, sir.
Bruh I have beat this game on the original Nintendo well over 15 times and however many times else on emulators but I've never seen these glitches or this type of speed run damn you one cold white boy
Arcus: I had a look at Beco's record. There is an issue you should know about. It seems he is running the game on an Emulator - in which he is experiencing "frame skips" this means the game is going to drop frames & advance ahead to compensate for the lost frames. With you using original hardware to compete I don't think it's even possible to match his score simply because his emulator does not run at the exact same speed as the original NES. Its like trying to match a 50Hrz PAL game with a 60Hrz NTSC one. So in a manner of speaking he's "cheating" - if he's aware of this or not is another question.
If there's definitely a quantifiable difference then they should make a note of which one was used for the respective leaderboard times if they don't already or even have a subcategory for each with seperate leaderboards
@@justdave9610 It also depends on the emulator used (as not all are 100% complete). Also the users machine (video card, CPU, sound card, driver versions, if v-sync is turned on or off, or if precise timing is enabled in the emulator options... etc etc) Each of these things can have an effect on an emulators performance. Because of this it's quite hard to have an emulator run exactly frame perfect to original hardware.
I hope this time next year we will have a Summoning Salt episode on how Arcus now dominates Ninja Gaiden I and II at the same time.

TheRetroRunner is in a very close second place on Ninja Gaiden. .3 seconds behind Arcus.
@@SvendleBerries I didn't know that. Very interesting. Thanks for letting me know. I hope Arcus is aware of this! I wonder what he thinks of this.

It's always great to see Arcus, king of all speedrunners in action. Hope you never stop streaming and making vids!
Man, some of the best 8-bit music came from the Ninja Gaiden series.
Totally agree.
Agreed. Mountain Dew and a Churro is one of the classics.
Ninja Gaiden and Castlevania dominated the 8-bit music scene...

Great run Arcus!
Just a reminder that this is Jorf's favorite stage.
