You are allowed to bring cats/dogs to China as long as you have all the documents (which include a rabies titer test, proof of vaccination, chip insertion, and a health checkup by vet). Depending on which country you live in, the requirements can be different. From what I've heard, it is a long process and can be annoying. However, once you get everything ready, you can bring your pets to China without a problem and I even heard some hotels allow you to quarantine with your pets.

Hi! No worries! I arrived in China at the end of September 2020. I believe I came during a time they had sorted out the process. I just went from station to station in the airport and then was sent to a hotel. However, hopefully in the near future quarantine won’t be necessary anymore. I hope you get to visit again!!!

Hi! I used an app called `Meituan`. Unfortunately, it is all in Chinese but I have managed my way around it. Only the beginning was tricky because when you register your phone number, instead of sending a verification code as a text message, an automated voice message system calls your phone and you have to listen for the numbers to put in as the code. I got blocked for 24 hours but then I sat down and learned the numbers in Chinese that day. Hahaha. And don't worry about quarantine, it goes by fast!

I did not pay for the covid test at the airport. They did it for free. I did have to pay for my hotel when I arrived.
