    A truly Beautiful setting to seek inspiration while writing. Kipling lived here from 1902 until his death in 1936. He was the first person in Sussex to have electric lighting. I like your footage of the waterwheel that powered his generator. This proved to be unreliable, so was replaced by an internal combustion engine. This engine still survives as part of the Claude Jessett Collection at Tinkers Park in Hadlow Down.

      In which year this house became a museum?
      I heard his wife give it to some competent authority after her husband died for free!
