    My friend from a previous job hired me for a start-up and yet after 2 weeks of 30 hrs a week they reduced it to 8. 8 is not a livable wage. In addition, they asked me to create a slide presentation for the onboarding of sales folks. Instead of allowing me to present it, one of the other people lead the presentation who knew NOTHING about the crm software but just learned from my presentation and then they asked me to be present in case there were questions. I thought I was going to be soooo happy with this job at the beginning. Being able to work w/folks from a previous company and yet they utterltly destroyed me. I felt used and abused. Moral? Sometimes networking isn't the best way to get back on track. This whole experience made me lose friendships and time I could have still been job searching.

    • @cody_codes_youtube
      @cody_codes_youtube  หลายเดือนก่อน +1

      I’m sorry you are going through that! I wouldn’t let that experience take you down. Startups are chaos by nature and many of people get burned, by business and circumstances. Congratulations! The tech meetups is a great way to find work. Like-minded people and all. Good tip on keeping the network "warm" which is also more fun than living as a hermit anyway. For those "cold call" job applications, you need to do research and include a well written cover letter. Even then, it's hit or miss. I don't know how recruiters can make any sense of that deluge.
