I had the same experience with my 'fitted' putter. I was fitted at the time for a game that had at that moment, however, I kept making improvements with the Baus's master classes and so it no longer fit my evolved putting stroke, but I refused to let go b/c it was 'fitted' for it. It took nearly 2 years of fighting it before I decided to go with something else (Odessey #7, fitted myself) and have never looked back since, I'm down from an 18 to a 9 at one point, now an 11 (chipping woes), but I'm in the 25-28 putts per round.
I have a Taylormade Burner driver that I’ve had for probably 10 years now. Every year I would try the driver, be wildly inconsistent and switch to irons. I hated that driver for the longest time. I tried every year to improve with it. Finally after 8 years I figured that club and my swing out and it’s my favorite club. I think all the effort I put into that club made it my most confident club. Just keep working at it playa
I widen my stance at the range this week and it fixed my whole swing ...driver and irons...Shot in the 80's for the first time in a year the next day. Frankly that was the worst I could have shot having never played the course before, and wasted 10 shots on the simplest mistakes and with a frost warning had no practice ...which I need for my chipping and putting. I think I am carrying the driver as far as I did in my 20's (40 years ago). Finally...Loving golf again!

I’m starting to hit bunker shots LIKE A BEAST thanks to your bunker video. Got out and on the green 6 or so times during my round this morning. I don’t think I missed a green from the sand. Thanks playa
I think it's that as the round goes on you make the relevant adjustments to get rid of the bad drives. Despite having a warm up on the range I don't think you can recreate the tee shot "pressure". You either work it out and step up with a good drive or you don't

You have a nice game. For me it looks like your big miss right with the driver is when you move your head in front of the ball. You hit some nice ones here with the tilt and keeping your head back. A well fit driver will always help but you've hit some here 300 yards. There's obvious opportunity getting comfortable with the driver rather than leaning on the 2 iron.

Hey Matt, my mid-long irons are being super frustrating right now and I did a similar thing you did in this video. It really is amazing how rehitting shots can make you feel better, so I'm glad your confidence is back. I rely on my 2 and 4 iron for everything, so I was puting up some tough rounds. Also, I noticed you're carrying a 56 and 58. Is there any reason you have your wedges so close together? If it works, it works :)
I played a round today with 4i, 7i, 56 and a putter. Shot 80. Definitely sharpened the clubs up but the chipping and pitching is currently HORRENDOUS!!! I don't feel like buying wedges that's all...I probably should though. LOL
Having a driver you love is a must. I can't get away from Titleist heads as I love my Kuro Kage X flex shaft that has the Titleist tip. I just buy used newer Titleist clubs as cheap as possible when I fall out of love looking at that head or want an upgrade.
To better understand your own driver swing, it’s a good idea on practice/experimental rounds to also use your driver on par threes and all fairway approach shots. On the fairway, just tee your ball up. Swing at slower speeds and/or half/quarter swings etc. You might be surprised at what you learn.

I don't know... never seen you hit so many nice draws with the driver. I say keep it. I think the lighter feeling head is letting you get through slightly quicker and enabling that right to left turnover. looked pretty damn good to me.
@@GolfSidekick THAT is what makes you better. I bought blades against the recommendation of the salesman because I was relatively new to golf at that time. It didn't hurt me. It made me better... made me refine my swing and hone in until I was hitting the same spot on the clubface shot after shot. Three months down the road with this driver and it won't seem like work. You'll just be better and you will have developed some new understandings of your swing, most likely. IMHumbleO... ;-) EDIT: Sorry. Just watched your next video. l hadn't realized before that you had been playing this driver for a year (I misunderstood and thought it was a new driver for you). My apologies for speaking out of my arse. You definitely gave it a fair chance.
Lovely caddie, lovely Bangkok! Almost hard to focus on the golf there lol. In seriousness, get fitted my Baus! It’s the only way, and Eric would’ve said the same thing, hence your new g400.. I too got fitted for a g410, not the furthest but mannn ball goes like on a ruler
There is more than one way to hit a driver straight; you have more options than most people. With your swing speed, hitting down/exit left is an option..vs hitting up/exit right..
I think you should maybe try going back to a stiff shaft that way you can slow down the tempo when needed and don’t have to swing such a demanding set up. You could maybe even Tip the stiff shaft just to make it a little stiffer. Or go with the hazardous line in 6.0 since they are notoriously stiff without being X stiff.

Yeah that’s for sure but nice to work on an idea at the range then take it to the course quite soon after then gave a practice round nice combo
I gave up on mine long time ago.. causing stress. I just can't hit it. My swing speed is probly slow and my backswing is quite short. I'll stick to the 4 iron, if I'm shooting 93-98 I'm happy.
Yes more driver tips please :) maybe more explanation on wrist hinge?
Yeah when i get it sorted out
Playa, Noticing more birdie music (blast it!), but sadly, the TUBAs are fading....Tubas always bring out good laughs as we have all been there. Just received my shirts and hats...they are the best attire out there....no more store bought stuff for me. Agree with many comments, SIM for you. Its a beast.
My driver is my favorite club.I hit it straight and can work a draw or a fade with it, the only club that I can do that with! I hit 75% of my fairways!
That’s such an asset
After my tee off performance the past 2 days this makes me want to hone in on my driver skills
I love your channel, Playboy! Keep on doing the damn thang! Let folks know when you touch down in the states, especially southern California or Northern California. We'll get after that shit!!!
Thinking of going to california!!!
Thank God you kept the birdie music!!
I don't know... never seen you hit so many nice draws with the driver. I say keep it. I think the lighter feeling head is letting you get through slightly quicker and enabling that right to left turnover. looked pretty damn good to me.
Nah man it’s HARD work to hit this club. It’s just not rewarding and pleasing
IMHumbleO... ;-)
EDIT: Sorry.
The g400 is crazy long
Birdie music? My favourite bit!
The Karen subtitles are so fucking good LMAO
good looking caddie there matt
Pear's got a peach
There is more than one way to hit a driver straight; you have more options than most people. With your swing speed, hitting down/exit left is an option..vs hitting up/exit right..
A friend of mine just built that exact same driver setup. He's the highest speed player I know and he has a hard time turning it over
I think you should maybe try going back to a stiff shaft that way you can slow down the tempo when needed and don’t have to swing such a demanding set up. You could maybe even Tip the stiff shaft just to make it a little stiffer. Or go with the hazardous line in 6.0 since they are notoriously stiff without being X stiff.
Hey Matt, I love the birdie music. Will you please share the name of the band so I can track it down??
You can get s sample. TH-cam search jump higher motion array. I pay for it $300 a year
When you text your playing partner that you will be wearing the 'Birdies of Paradise' shirt tomorrow and they still wear theirs! Waddcanyado!
And their name is also Matt. Wadda serendipity
You had me worried for a second there about the birdie music! Lol
Well never let the Karens win
