I'm relieved to have been proven wrong for now. Cheers JC!
I played around with this and it's so satisfying that I spent at least half an hour messing around with it. Crazy that this stuff is possible, really allows you to make cool/original stuff without needing the confidence to compose for different instruments or use complicated software.
Creation of the day! I so appreciate the opportunity to 'muck about' with you today, Jacob. I enjoyed my time in your room. Yes. From a skilled multi-instrumentalist with years of professional experience to a know-nothing non-musical, no talent like me, any human can still dream, let sounds speak to their hearts and minds, create a message, and set that message down...yes, even me, myself, I could produce a song. My very own music. Like you said. It's infinite. Stay safe on your tour, Sir Jacob.
It’s so thrilling that I get to grow up with this genius and see what he will get up to in the next several years/decades. So lucky to be around at the same time as him!
It's a shame how much undue hate this software has from people simply because AI has been a heated discussion when it comes to art. There's no difference between this and sampling music, yet I rarely hear outrage about musicians sampling other artists. The only difference is this is essentially sampling from your mind
@@FortisVthe difference is scale and energy consumption. You can sample this and that but this tool could have "sampled" the entirety of youtube music for all I know. And at the end of this "sampling" doesn't sit a single creator but a giant corporation. Energy consumption and water usage with every prompt of large ai models are so high that these giant corporations start pushing for a return to nuclear reactors. It's an interesting tool but I need more context about how it was made and is running now.

You should listen to the Dream Theater album the astonishing. It’s kind of amazing the parallels. The entire album is about how computers control music in the future. And the resultant nonsense noise that comes out of it. And then there’s awakening of music when people find musical instruments again. My personal belief is that AI will never replace, the arts. I don’t think people are going to care much about what a computer makes as it will have no soul or emotion attached to it. The entire field of arts in general, including music is about hearing someone’s emotions, thoughts and spirit through their creation. There is also the other side of perfecting and learning how to play instruments. Which is very important because as you know, music is a thing of motion. There has to be movement and dance associated with playing any instrument. There’s only so much clicking buttons on your mouse and computer can do. Often times you may lose that sense of motion. At any rate as I don’t think people care as much as everyone thinks about what he creates. It is soul less. The arts will be one of the only final true forms of being human. And the only things that humans will care about is art that is created from other humans. Not machines.
I know there are many tools out there that can be used well. Such as having digital on your workstations in your bedroom. But there are other things that are taking away. You’ve mentioned these things such as quantizing and pitch correction when singing. These types of things are making music less natural, less inspiring, and values the true musical skills, and creativity of a talented instrumentalist and Singer. These types of AI fakery are taking that up by a degree of magnitude. People should learn how to play music, learn instruments, and most importantly, learn how to express themselves directly to the universe. Clicking buttons on a computer to make random noises is nice and interesting, but it takes away from the joy of actually playing an instrument or actually singing something . I mean imagine if we had some kind of a prosthetic or shoes that could do all the dancing for you. No effort or muscle contraction involved on the users part. Would we call that truly dancing?
Must be nice to play music for a living and make as much bank as you make. You literally have the life I’ve always wanted. For now I shall just live vicariously.
There is many open-source ai alternatives, great musical minds like yours should not end up behind closed Google walls, but inspire many people in transparency and openness, if you believe as you say that everybody can contribute, that is only true with open-source. But please be mindful of supporting big tech companies that become bigger monopolies everyday, and in the end don't create more freedom for people.
