I love your honest review❤ too many TH-camrs nowadays try to promote false narratives about perfumes and i find myself disappointed. Idk what’s going on, but a bunch of these designer fragrances are getting so expensive and aren’t performing properly compared to their cost. Definitely gained a new subscriber from me, I love that you keep it real and speak the honest truth!

I agree! I ordered this as soon as it came out from the YSL website, using the discount code thank God. It was a huge disappointment. Everything you said-it doesn't last, THEY LIED and it wasn't needed. No one noticed this scent when I wore it to work and I couldn't smell it at all by lunchtime and I sprays 10 sprays. TEN! I prefer black opium extreme and elicit green. Your review is honest and factual.
The discount softens the blow lol. I feel you! I sprayed it a lot and even touched up with it and it still did not perform. The other flankers are much better indeed. Thanks for sharing.

Omg 😮 This review was perfection!!!! 🙌🏼 I agree with the price being way to high and the longevity/ projection being so poor, that’s what’s keeping me from buying the full size. I love it for me and my husband and cuddle stay at home days but I don’t think I want to pay that much for that. 😣 I do love the scent though just because I love vanilla so much 😆 Great video!!! ❤️

I got this just today and this is April the 17th of 2023 and it wasn't what I was expecting. I do like it but if I would've got the $110 size I would have been mad at myself I had that in my cart because the smaller one was sold out online but then I was able to get the $34 size when I hit in store pick up so it's OK and again like I said I would've been disappointed if I'd paid $110 I'm glad that I didn't do that and I'm also glad for yalls reviews.

I love the Extreme. It’s the only one I own actually. This was my bday perfume back in 2021. I actually went into Sephora 3 separate times and sprayed it on skin. I couldn’t stop smelling myself lol. And then I bought a big bottle at the Sephora VIB sale. It was the most expensive bottle I had ever purchased at the time and I have no regrets. I love love vanilla so expected to just fall for the Le Parfum but I just didn’t feel it. And the prices of these is ridiculous. Thanks for the video.

Hi Santa, first of all: I never liked Black Opium. I was drawn to it at first by that coffee note. The extreme seemed somewhat pleasant, but not enough for me to buy it. I've always felt the name does not fit the perfume. I expected something mindblowing, dark, sensual, etc. But all I get is those darn flowers (at this point I hate orange blossom, because I feel all designer scents are overloaded with it). The coffee is like an afterthought. I did go out and smell the new one yesterday, because the promise of opulent vanilla drew me in, but it did nothing for me. I certainly would not spend that kind of money on something so forgettable. You can get a good and lasting niche scent for that price. I love how honest you are!
Hello there. I agree with you completely! The scent is not as dark and seductive as I would have liked in any form. Yes the price is in niche territory but not giving niche performance. Got to be real with y'all :-)

Honestly I have never tried to smell the original black opium. I think because when I started watching fragrance TH-cam videos that’s all I heard about but I never thought about trying it.

It's just so confusing when they do this, but maybe that's the plan. Confuse buyers into thinking that they are getting something better.
its not confusing per-say as some flankers are truly different and better than the original. But in this case, this was a fail from YSL and can be considered a cash grab.
Between YSL and Dior, I don’t know who’s worse! YSL had the original, intense, illicit green, neon, extreme and now this….they all are starting to smell the same, and at this point they just need to come up with a different flanker all together.
They are competing for the title of most flankers at this point.

OG black opium fades to nada after an hour for me. This is after I apply body oil, lotion, BO inspired perfume oil, into the night body spray, then BO EDP...gone in an hour😳
How bout instead of creating another flanker, how bout reformulating OG BO so it last slightly longer (at least!). YSL dropping the ball on this one fasho😒😔

I bought this based upon your review and others. I was able to get it at a discount as well. I heeded your caution (thanks btw 😙). They had a lot of nerve asking g $180 for 90ml.😒
Before I purchased it, I tested it one day… on skin with Kayali Utopia Vanilla Coco21 on the other arm. They were giving me similar vibes. On my skin, YSLBO Le Parfum out performed KUVC21 which kinda surprised me. I wanted KUVC21 but this test kept me from buying it.😢
A few people have described this as a spring/summer scent. I’m wondering if its performance has to do with the time of year you tested and reviewed it. Apparently there are solar notes in this formulation. What do you think? Will you revisit it at some point and give me your opinion? I’m hoping this is the case.

If anyone has trouble with YSL Black opium le parfum lasting on you, here is what you need to do: layer VS Pink Warm Vanilla body mist, OGX Coconut & Coffee body cream, Nest Madagascar Vanilla perfume oil on your pulse points & spray Black opium one time on each pulse point. I wore this exact combo today & applied it at 6:00am & it is still projecting off me very strongly @ 6:00pm & I have to scrub it off me in the shower @ 8:30pm. I recommend trying this if you have issues with the lasting power.

The designer prices has gotten out of control and part of me feels like the industry is just taking advantage because they can and falling back on the inflation excuse. I just picked this up a week ago and paid $185 from NM. It truly is a magnificent scent. Marketed for women and this is the second fragrance that I have that is suppose to be feminine

I haven't managed to get my nose on this yet and doubt I'll bother! Now don't get me wrong I was really keen to try this so much so I was going to risk a blind buy right up until I took one look at the price on the ysl website and then very quickly changed my mind. My first response was 'are they having a laugh' and that's put very politely for the sake of the channel. Seriously the price is utterly ridiculous there's no chance I'm paying that for a designer fragrance 🤯🤯🤯

It sounds to me like designers are trying to compete with niche houses now which isn't happening but the prices are niche prices almost. if this is happening im going to stop buying designer perfumes unless they are really discontinued. ive never seen a 30ml designer perfume for $100. I smelled it and it was lovely and soft which i liked that it wasnt cloying. im glad i didnt purchased it because 2 hours is a joke.
Yup designers think they can command the same prices as niche but it does not work that way.

I almost bought the travel size yesterday but decided to spray it on my wrist first. I followed my first mind to not buy it because it’s not all that great of a fragrance. Lol

There are so many great vanilla fragrances out there, and you can get a niche one for that price piont. I love vanilla myself and that was the only thing that attracted me in this new perfume. But it was a disappointment.
Vanilla is used in a lot of perfumes out now so you should find something you like relatively easily.
