I left Maine and miss it, BUT I don't not miss the taxes or leftist running the state or the winters. I'll be back in a few years. Yes I will live here in Tennessee part time too
We were in Tennessee a little bit this past fall and I really liked just about everything about it. We moved from Bangor back to Fort Fairfield and am enjoying the quiet and good neighbors.
I love the videos, your accent is very entertaining. I am thinking about moving to Maine from Tennessee and I have one question for you: do your restaurants have the recipe for sweet tea? A southern boy has to have his sweet tea.
Hi Matthew, been here my whole life and would love to move to Tennessee!!! Sweet tea is not a thing so much up here. The first time I had sweet tea I thought someone had made a mistake with the amount of sugar. You can buy it in most grocery stores.
What if I told you, you could learn to make it at home?
Some of our nor'easters can have some wicked winds along the coast. Bad and may iknock down some trees but not life threatening or devastating.

Depends on where you live. Rental prices are out of hand.
As a retired Maine teacher I can tell you this is misleading, most of our schools have become terrible; that is why my grandchildren are in private schools because the public schools are now completely unacceptable. Unless you live in a wealthy suburb or township (roughly 5 of them in the state but these are the exception), your child is not going to get the education they need to be successful in life.

Every day I thank the powers that be that I decided to move my family (Mom, me and the cats) from California to Maine. Yeah we have a rotten governor but it's so much nicer here than there.
I’ve been to California once. Drove from Phoenix to Palm Springs to San Diego on business. No comparison worth mentioning. Maine is a great place. Have you been up in Aroostook county yet?

@@HotRod12667 There is no place on earth like Aroostook County in July. All the potato fields are in blossom. The Potato Blossom Festival in Fort Fairfield is a great time for food, music, and Maine the way life used to be.
I am low income and probably the cheapest area to live in Maine would be northern Aroostook County. I know they have extreme winters but because it is common for me to have my house temperature in the mid 50s my heating bill is often 1 third the average. When it comes to push I adjust to brutal weather conditions. I love to have a modest size house and a large track of land. Away from the BS I see here in Eastern MA.
The winters in northern Maine have not been as bad as in the past. Plus, in eastern Mass it is raw in the winter and up here the air is dryer ....usually.

@@marjoriegoodwin2993 Couldn't agree more. Next week I am moving to The County, right on the Canadian border. I've enjoyed Bangor and the area for ten years. Here in the Bangor area we refer to York County as North Boston. And, Bangor is running out of land for new neighborhoods. The growth over the last five years has been tremendous. Not so much in Aroostook. Nice and peaceful.
Oh, you lucky duck, moving up by the Canadian border. Every time I am in Vermont, even if I am a passenger with my eyes closed, I can feel when we cross the border, and it feels so different that I assume we have crossed the border to Canada.
