Having spent most of my life working in the woods a couple things come to mind. 1. The chainsaw will eventually get destroyed. 2. The self releasing block is interesting. 3. The winch operator was standing in the bight which is a good place to get hurt, he should have been on the opposite side of the machine. 4. Never use the mainline for a choker, it will get damaged very quickly. 5. You don’t want to choke logs that far apart because the slider will burn up the skid line, instead pull the first log to the second and then choke it.
Wow. Some very smart, practical engineering designs on this unit. And in a size for lower PTO HP sub and compact tractors. Chainsaw holder, self releasing pulley, tow bar and big skidding capacity. Good stuff!

I have a large Wallenstein skidding winch and it is wonderful. This video is very well done. The snow helps the logs slide easier and they stay clean which allows chains on chainsaws to stay sharp longer. In my opinion, little tractors like the one in this video can be very dangerous. Make sure that you get some instruction from an expert a d find a mentor to help you.
