    Had the bow set up at a pro shop. It performed just fine th-cam.com/users/postUgkxQEKUoxLWwayEDZR0NKB-5limn4MBU-2L . And I would say this is a good starting now that I could pass down to my son when he is older.But the package was missing the release and a nock was missing from one arrow.Dealing with customer support was terrible. They suggested I buy a new release rather than correct their own quality control issue because it’s to expensive for the. to ship it out from China.Update: manufacturer got back to me and resolved the issue. I retract the above statement.

    Im from Wisconsin been bow and gun hunting for 48 years. Im 64 years old and found out this year I can’t hunt as hard as I used to. My knee is so sore i can barely walk from one of my epic hunts on public land. Lots of my hunting fishing buddies are gone now. Love your videos THP. Dan the Beast scored a bunch of my trophies back around 1995. I found his channel through your channel. Glad to see he’s still around and looking healthy!

    I always find myself talking to the screen when a deer is in range of Teddy. Saying shoot ,shoot ,shoot. It’s good to be patient and cautious and I’m sure the angle of the camera is different than what he is seeing but I still find myself saying shoot ,why isn’t he shooting.

    I got my first bow deer Sunday in a similar fashion to Ted's. Got lucky and caught an artery in it's hip. My heart sunk thinking the shot was terrible (which it was) but the deer only made it 50 yards before it bled out. Love all the content you fellas put out! Keep up the good work! Meat on ice!

    • @otisdeborst4606
      @otisdeborst4606 2 ปีที่แล้ว

      Yes it didn't travel to the front it hit the Mann artery. Had that happen once when I forgot to change my pin. Doe had walked forward few yards over shot shoulders and tagged the hip just right of spine same result. Like a blood hose.

    @2:14-2:18 Now that’s the kind of Buck I wanna harvest! The heck with those 2-4 year old Adolescent Bucks those Big Grandpa Bucks 🦌 are the ones to Target 🎯. I see so many younger Hunters teens-30’s who shoot just anything as long as it has bone coming out of its head. They’re never gonna get the size of the one @2:14-2:18 of this video if we as Hunters don’t collectively together as responsible B&C enthusiast Hunters don’t let em walk guys and gals. I’m a old school deer hunter who dates back to only being recurve Bow and Arrow 🏹. I’m old enough to remember & followed closely & bought the old black and white & then distorted color hunting videos of FRED BEAR only on VHS 📼 tapes if that tells ya anything about my age😂 . I remember when we only had US army camo pattern clothes to buy there wasn’t anything else when I was in my teens and 20’s. As a teenager us guys who hunted went to Army Navy surplus stores to get camo for hunting. Then came along BILL JORDAN’s VHS 📼 tapes after Fred Bear and Bill introduces Real Tree pattern camo. Wow what a game changer, finally Clothes that matched the trees we hunted in. I’m old enough that I remember buying the first compound bow that came out with “ no let off whatsoever” ! U guys got it made today, imagine holding back 65-70 pounds trying to get that perfect shot on a buck. We missed some really nice deer or made some not so desirable shots back then. We also lost a lot of really nice deer we tracked because of having to hold back those no let off bows and not making perfect shots.
    But thought compound bows & tree matching camo was the best thing since sliced bread. Back to my Philosophy that has took a lifetime of hunting to come to terms with.....,I’m a firm believer that harvesting young Bucks should only be done: If you’re really hungry & need food, if it’s a kids first deer, if it’s land management harvesting from buck overpopulation, harvesting of the inbred Bucks, Or even an injured buck being taken out because he probably won’t survive the winter anyway. Those scenarios I think 🤔 are feasible, But just slinging arrows or blasting them with rifle or shotgun because of them having horns... Or Because Tom, Dick & Harry or Harry Dick hasn’t killed one/filled a tag 🏷 yet & because they have bone on the head isn’t helping the Giant buck population at all. Guys like myself who have learned over many decades almost 6 Decades of hunting the Giants is: They’re never gonna be Giants 200” + deer if we don’t let them walk and live a few more years. There are many who will say a Buck is all he’s gonna be at 4.5- 5 years old.
    I say bull crap 💩 a healthy buck at 6-7 is usually at his fullest potential as long as he’s healthy and his teeth 🦷 aren’t worn down to deter him from eating good. I understand it also has a lot to do with the agriculture and food sources in the area those deer 🦌 live in also. I’ve spent my life reading and researching the whitetail deer & I’ll never know all there is to know about them. But I know enough that us Hunters have to do our part as conservationists in our sport in letting these younger deer walk and become bigger to get the Giants we all desire to hunt.
    The older I got and learned this has been several years I never released a Arrow or pulled the trigger on a buck & I had my opportunity at many 4 year old 120”-130” bucks because I wanted them to grow to be the Giants I knew they could get to. Furthermore if I was needing meat 🥩 🍖 I’d just take me a big mature doe for the freezer. If we could get more Hunters to live with this same Philosophy there would be a lot more 200+ inch deer killed each year by a lot more people and they would be a lot more world records broken also. God Bless you fellow hunters & I hope you all get the Giant buck 🦌 of your dreams. 👍

    Freezers queens are a nice way to get the season going! Don't know how true this is but I have always heard that if you shoot a doe early season with a buck fawn he will stay close to the area because his mom won't be around to run him off. Good luck the rest of the season and Nick seems like a keeper! He's fricken hilarious.

I gonna have to get a lot better at the archery, my work is starting to block rifle season off the vacation calendar. And they already block off antlreless and alternative seasons. Effectively not allowing me to firearms hunt any more.

    15:30 This is one of the main benefits I've encountered with shooting heavier arrows with higher FOC weight percentage with solid broadheads. The penetration is exponentially better through the deer and the arrow will fly straight through small stuff. I've seen so many pro-shop "hunting arrows" deflect from barely knicking a leaf stem. Not with adult arrows. Thanks to Ed Ashby and Troy Fowler. 🍻
