    I made this cake today, totally unplanned. It’s amazing! Comes out so moist and light. I substituted walnuts for pecans because I didn’t have those. Best coffee cake! Thanks!

    It looks like this video was published a few years ago. I just stumbled upon it, looking for a coffee cake recipe so I could knock out a few and bring to office to share at an early morning staff meeting. You did not disappoint. This is probably the best coffee cake I have ever eaten. DELICIOUS and easy to make - foolproof. Thank you!

    I just made this cake and it's absolutely delicious! I used almost 1 cup of full-fat plain Fage yogurt along with the sour cream because I didn't have enough sour cream and it turned out great. Thanks for the recipe!

      Delicious! Very moist and fluffy. I toasted pecans before I added them in.

    Made this today and here are my takeaways.
    9" round cake pan worked perfectly.
    I didn't want to leave cake in the pan so I lined pan with parchment, sprayed with Pam and dusted. It worked perfectly and was able to take cake out easily.
    My bake time was like 63 min.
    The cake is delicious and fluffy personally I like my coffee cake a bit more dense but hey everyone is different . 🙂

    I made it! It was delicious...but I used walnuts instead of pecan because I didn't have any pecan! and I used 1/4cup of sugar less just to fit my taste. Thank you. Your recipe is fabulous!

      Allspices we use in casserole diahes , you used that?

    • @mpb3481
      @mpb3481 4 ปีที่แล้ว +4

      Rafia Fareed It’s called coffee cake because it’s designed to be eaten with coffee, not because that’s an ingredient in the cake. And allspice is used in both savory and sweet dishes.

    The first try, I knew it was a success after coming out of the oven. It's perfectly risen with crunchy streusels so beautifully topping the cake. I gave it as a thank you gift to a friend. The next day, I baked one for myself. This is the best coffee cake or crumb cake that I ever tasted if I may say so myself. You are right giving the middle streusels a little swirl with a skewer kept the cake from separating also they layered and stayed perfectly in the middle unlike other recipes I tried by well known chefs, the middle streusels tend to move and sink almost to the bottom. This is a lifetime keeper, I shared this recipe with my sister overseas and suggested that she tries it when she entertains friend to a brunch at home.

    There used to be a recipe for coffee cake on Bisquick boxes. They had you put the streusal on the bottom of the pan, then flip it over. Sometimes I'd also add sliced bananas on the bottom, which ended up being the top. This one looks really good too, but I don't have all the ingredients now. Lockdown and all that

    I love the way Texans says Pecan, they will either say Puh-Con or Pee-Con but never Pee-Can. I haven't had Coffee Cake in a long time, so I will be giving this recipe a try.

    I'm in England making this for 1st time! When you say half a cut of melted butter, do you mean half a solid cut, then melted or half a cut of liquid melted butter? Not used to cups! Thanks xxx

      She used a half CUP of butter. In the US and Canada, that would be 1 stick of butter which is 113 grams. She started with the 113 grams of solid, cold butter and then melted it in a small sauce pan. Hope that helps.
