Good goly man you are amazing, i just found your channel by mistake and started watching the sandman series ,I had been wanting to read the thing for so damn long but just could not get into it because it is kinda complex , but how you narrate it and explain all the connections and history made it so much easier and i finished it all back to back ,thank you and please continue doing so

I love the scenes with Morpheous and Lucifer Neil's rake on the after life is so fascinating. I love the Mike Carey Lucifer books, I actually read those before Sandman and I started buying the Sandman because I wanted to understand all the references in Mike Carey's books.
It seems that Destiny was the first to morn his brothers death when Dream chose to go back to hell. The extinguishing of the candle represents many things. Mostly the loss of a life.
The moment with the Angels Duma and Remuel is both literary and literally Deus-ex-Machina, just as Morpheus is completely at a loss for decision. Such mastery of writing! 😉
wow! people are criticizing Death is a black girl in the TV adaptation, but we can see in this comic, Sandman takes different appearances and even one is a of a black man in love of this girl name Nada, who reincarnate as a Asian girl at the end. We also already saw Desire change appearance as well, Desire can look like a guy or like a girl depending on who is watching him/her, turning to the object of what her name represents. So there is really no issue that death is a black girl in the TV adaptation. But... have to say that will like to see the white goth chic in the tv Adaptation in one episode, showing this entities can change their appearance at will.

Great video, I’m on book 4 the bigger ones and these have really helped me find more parts to the story; just finished Lucifer and so far that was actually a very slightly better read than the sandman in my opinion
I'm commenting halfway through but wouldn't it be so cool if he gave hell to Despair? Like dude come on a whole realm dedicated to people who believe they should be punished for all eternity! That's Despair all the way son.
This is probably my most favorite among the series. One question that always come to my mind is how did Morpheus have the power of reincarnation...real reincarnation, that is?
Really enjoying the stories and side characters, but it really seems like Morpheus is a Mary Sue. He easily over powers every antagonist and doesn’t seem to have any major conflict. He screwed up sometimes by giving people too harsh of punishments but in the timeline of the books seems to always do the right thing. Hoping we see some more conflict for him in the coming volumes, but regardless always enjoy the videos!
I guess I kinda get why Lucifer said that he's quiting and let everyone out because Lucifer's men will lowkey attack the realm of Dreaming and take over it!!! 🤯🤯 It's the end of The Sandman ep11. That's just my speculation 😁💙.

I look at Lucifer as an entreating TV series, but the comics have a much better story. Also I had no problem the casting lucifer in the new Sandman series. I mean honestly Gwendoline Christie looks much more like Lucifer from the comics, I mean the obvious choice (David Bowie) had already passed, but in The Sandman Lucifer was clearly based on Ziggy Stardust Bowie, very gender neutral. Damn I miss Bowie.
I believe you skipped over page 41 -- and I'm confused because it looks like Choronzon is there webbed -- confusing because that doesn't happen till many issues later. Is it someone else? Is this revealed in a later volume?
No. After this, I want to just jump around a bit before getting sucked into another long series. I may cover Lucifer one day tho. I haven’t read it myself yet, so I need to do that first.

In my Sweet Tooth S1 Review, I pinned a comment explaining I needed more time to finish Sandman volume 4. I should be weekly for the next few volumes. But one of the later volumes is like super long, so I may need 2 weeks for that one, we’ll see.

@Over Starter yeah I never really read Lucifer but from what I did know about it that show seems like it has nothing to do with it. I genuinely thought it was just a show called Lucifer I did not think it was attached to the comic book in anyway.
It’s not finished publishing yet, but I think it’s just 1 more issue. But I’ll get to it after Sandman, or potentially take a break doing Sandman one week and then do American Vampire 1976.

The Lucifer comic book by Mike Carey is the best. It's like as if it was written by Neil Gaiman. I was so disappointed and disgusted the TV Show Lucifer is so bad and does not do the character, the creator and the writer justice, not even a fraction.
The Lucifer TV show made the same mistake that the Hellblazer TV show did. They found the *perfect* actor for the part in both cases, but then they completely blew off everything else, washing it down to tired network TV tropes. Both Matt Ryan as John Constantine and Tom Ellis as Lucifer play those roles perfectly (I'd prefer a blonde Lucifer, but I really have to give it to him, he nails it). But then the setting and everything else they're involved in is complete dogshit, as compared to the source material. As regards Lucifer, every time I've tried to watch a bit of it, I'm picturing the pitch meeting where they go through all the many-worlds settings and complex philosophy, and then some network executive says "yeah, but what about if instead he just helped the police solve crimes?" Literally the most over-used trope in television history, and one that's completely irrelevant to anything in the comic.
💯, overrated series. What makes it worse is that they took it from vertigo's lucifer. The same cliché "overpowered means boring, because i live for overhyping fangirls"
