    This is right up my alley. Speak english or die was actually one of my first CDs back in 1989-90. To me S.o.d and m.o.d was masterpiece bands back then :). Im not saying everything was perfect but it was an masterpiece as a artistic way. I had to buy several copies because the cds got scratched by overuse :D. Me along with 3 others on my school started the S.O.D era movement cross between punkrock and trash and eventually we became metalheads. the best song album was imo: "March of the S.O.D", "Speak english or die", "United forces", "Pussy Whipped". Kiss Alive II was one of my favs and still are with Kiss. I mean it had all the great songs obviously.

    TH-cam is full of guys with down tuned guitars and programmed drums thinking they’re making heavy music. Then a 35 year old record with S.O.D. with riffs so heavy you’ll need a forklift to put it on. Scott Ian’s picking hand is like The Infinity Gauntlet and inhumanly fast. We need to bring metal back to real musicians playing for real, all that programmed time corrected BS with wimps wearing out the first fret of their eight string is no better than American Idol pop.

      Exactly. This why I still cling to and listen to the thrash music of days gone by. It has attitude. Not manufactured attitude but in your face attitude.

    Being from the midwest, I only had what the radio was playing. Everybody was Motley Crue, Quiet Riot,blah blah blah.... it was cool at the moment, but once my young dumb ass started saving money for what used to be "New Record Tuesday" I started perusing the aisle looking for shit I knew no one would EVER like because I've always had no intention of fitting in. The Stormtroopers of Death immediately stood out to me! Bought the album, bought the tshirts, bought the patches. Found out they were playing 50 miles away from me & hitch hiked there & back just to see them. Was mt first introduction to the mosh pit & I wouldn't change a fucking thing about it brother!

    Dude! I remember when the original album came out and we all flipped our minds!! S.O.D. was like on constant play on my cassette player in my car. I think my girlfriend at the time put up with it but secretly hated it. Oh Well
    Mosh On!!

    4:28 obviously he talks in the best part of the whole live XD when we used to listen to the LP we never had seen the video so that "bop bop" was a mistery to us. When it came out we saw it was the actual sound of Billy hitting a guy in the head with the mic and burst out laughing. That's part of the live album!

    It's the BFD with SOD! MOD is not to be confused with OMD (the British "new wave"' band Orchestral Maneuvers in the Dark). I remember this (oh those Headbangers Ball memories!) and I did think a lot of SOD stuff was cool back in the day. Billy was a big dude and it is honestly incredible that either he or at least one member of the crowd didn't die after that INSANE dive! Now that's hardcore. All that aside, your best statement in this whole thing was: "You can never go wrong with KISS Alive II!" TRUE DAT. 🤘💥

    Speaking of your go to albums mine was Flotsam and Jetsam 'No Place For Disgrace'. I always thought that the opening bass line from 'Peace Sells' played at the beginning of Head Bangers Ball when the train crashed into the house but I could be wrong. Appreciate the reaction brother.

    • @jollyjakelovell6822
      @jollyjakelovell6822 2 ปีที่แล้ว +2

      The opening Bass line From 'Peace Sells' was stolen by MTV for MTV's intro music for the News segments they played every five to hour or so.

      @@jollyjakelovell6822 That was probably it. I couldnt remember what it was from. I was usually a little buzzed up by then. Appreciate the reply.

    you look old enough to have already listened to SOD... can't believe this is the "first" time you get in touch with them (and in fact you say it's the first time in 35 years so why did you hide from this band? were they too hard?)

    • @osu_ndn
      @osu_ndn 2 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Ease up, sister. His first time reacting to the video. I dont believe Shane hides from any music. Hell, there are songs I've probably forgotten about that i listened to over 35 years ago - doesnt mean I was hiding, it just means that its somewhere deep in my memory banks.
