The last one, probably to please the license owner so Asphalt can keep the cars in-game. Some of the manufacturers don't want to see their cars damaged in video games.
asphalt has been my childhood favourite franchise. I played most of the asphalt games, starting from the 6th title. Crazy to see how far this franchise has come to A9
there's actually a similar event like the audi rs3 collab event here in indonesia. I think it was called "Honda Brio Virtual Drift" which is basically another version of asphalt nitro but the game only features two trims of honda brio. I think you can look it up

Back in 2020, Gameloft also do a collaboration with Honda Indonesia and released a game called "Brio Virtual Drift Challenge" Basically it's just an Asphalt Nitro but instead it only have one car which is Honda Brio. They also do a competition but instead of fastest lap, the winner decided by the most drift score in a race.
Shame the voiceovers didn't make it to Asphalt 8, as they would have given it a lot more personality. I do know about Asphalt Audi RS3, Asphalt 6's garage, A8's Fall Out Boy update, remastered tracks and the girls.
Greenland , New York and Paris are also remastered tracks which are in Asphalt 9
