I was thinking a similar thing a few weeks ago while I was listening to some Jack Bruce songs.... I could hear where Geddy got some of his style and tone... Thanks for watching.
One of the craziest songs to play on bass. Excellent playing! I've tried so many times and can't ever get it 100%. I bet even geddy couldn't either. Lol such a badass song though. Only Rush would come up with a song like this.
Thanks! I was at my Mom's house one day last year and saw those two bunnies in her flower garden and that gave me an idea.... Easier than finding a giant, inflatable rabbit.... The VHS tape I record on helps with that outdated, old school video quality....
@@66TJP You’re saying you couldn’t get the giant inflatable rabbit? Next you’re gonna tell me you can’t get a whole string ensemble for Clockwork Angels covers.
Love it! Punchy as a boxer. Force Ten seems like a natural next choice? If you wanna lower the song track volume even more I wouldn't mind one bit. Since you put so much effort into getting these right, they're a great resource for inspiring bassists to learn by.
I think Geddy's '77 4001 sounds every bit as good as Chris Squire's RM1999. Apples and oranges in a way but that's one good apple and one good orange...
@@66TJP that's a good way to put it. If forced to choose, I'd have to pick the 4001. Squire's toaster/horseshoe tone was awesome, but something about how deep and wide and monstrous Geddy's Ric sounded (especially on the ESL video) impacted me in a way no other tone has.

@@66TJP thanks... I just got my new Wal so I'm still learning it's quirks.. and I'm not remotely as talented as you are, so I'm interested in your take on Pick Attack... useful for "in the mix"? or just as a solo tone?

Lovely playing as usual Tom. Just got my Mk1 back after a long absence - may I ask what your settings are? Would love to cop Geddy's tone & you've nailed it!

I just have one camera and it doesn't have a good wide type of shot, like a bigger view of my small room. For me to get most of my room in the shot, I need to either go way up on a tripod or put the camera on the floor in one corner. (and that low angle is coming up soon...) Setting up the shot is sometimes a few hours process with my "hi-tech" gear...LOL! Thanks for watching.
So this is thumbs up for so many reasons however, around 3:35, there is a slight tempo issue and articulation issue.
