speedrunners usually choose 1.16.1 if I'm not mistaken, bcs that version has better drop rates and no brutes. Tho you can try dealing with brutes by blocking yourself out/staying out of their reach and lava bucket them
Have you tried crafting a shield, I mean it only cost one Iron. Love the vids btw, don’t mean any hate, I just think being able to survive more hits is nice.😊

In that situation instead of making an iron chestplate which is 2 armor bars stronger than a gold one (or one full armor bar as you say) you should have made iron leggings which are 3 armor stronger than leather ones.
If you dont know what is the downsides/differences of speedrunning in hardcore:, they're; Mobs are way stronger (especially Piglins) No hunger reset Pearls hurt more

An iron chest plate is a half a bar better than a gold plate. U probably could have gotten a full bar if you made iron pants, replacing the leather piece. Fun fact for next time!
